The natural law of war is lost. If you invade a country, must be prepared to destroy and conquer. Must make the people feel defeat. Be prepared as the affected people will bite back. This war will not be held just within its borders. Be prepared for spill over which will be 10 fold.

I cant believe that they used a barge to hull garbage and put Olympic rings on it as symbol for Tokyo Olympics. Pretty much summed it up to what it really is. Sad state of affairs in Japan. Third World.

Western Hypocrisy - The US should look in their own backyard before they criticize others. Why even pay attention to this doctrined garbage. Japan is so worried what other nations think of them and work so hard to be accepted. If you allow the west to dictate what you can and cannot do, you will always be seen as less than them. Dont play into their agenda.

ObjectiveJune 24  07:35 am JST

Isn't the whole point of testing athletes, delegates, and officials to uncover cases of Covid? It may be shocking that a small percentage of positive cases arise but is it unexpected? They have protocol in place to deal with this.

Oh yes1 they have protocols in Japan to deal with COVID. Like the "Diamond Princess" and the entire COVID situation. For problem solving, unfortunately working harder and longer, doesn't work in situations like this.

Beds just have to last a month or so. Give the organsiers credit here. Well thought out and at minimal cost.

Come on folks, show some positivity for once!

Yes, did you look at the costs?

If you think that the price is reasonable.

Close to $500M USD spent on this but the blanket at most in bulk purchase are $20 USD. With Ikea like furnishings ranging no more than $1000 USD per room. Someone made a killing using Govt money. Cronies and JGov. I live in central Tokyo and the same block has annual construction on replacing trees, columns, pavement on monthly basis. Corruption at its finest!

The problem is more complicated than blaming one man. I love how Japan seems to simplify every problem in life. I see this in the workplace also. Never see reality or get to root problems. Always blaming people "Nani-Nani-san wa damenano!"

But hey, its why alot of us have jobs here in Japan and get paid to solve these problems, and not just finger point!

Kinda amazing how Utada Hikaru the natural-born American couldn't break into American music scene, while BTS and BlackPink rule American music scene right now.

Timing is everything. BTS hit the anime generation with Asian culture hitting main stream. With Utada things were just at market entry and not main stream. Wouldnt even see Asians on tv unless it was kung-fu or being imitated and made fun of at the time. A gap of two decades is alot.

Posted in: BOJ assets quadruple to ¥714.56 tril under Kuroda's aggressive easing See in context

The world is pretty corrupt. There is plenty of other countries that are worse than Japan. Global economy needs base currencies to exchange and benchmark. Most countries in Asia are too volatile and untrustworthy. Until you have a strong Asian country that can address this concern, Japan will continue to enjoy its status in global currency. Its the reason why the Yen and USD go up during rescissions, its because people trust to put their money their during unstable times. There may be a time when confidence in yen crumbles but the competition is pretty weak in terms of competing currency.
