Yes this student should have complied. Nevertheless, I do not understand why so many are shaming him, acting like he is public enemy number one while having little to no facts.  It is not like he did anything depraved, vicious or dangerous toward anyone. The only individual he essentially caused harm to was himself.

Posted in: Universal basic income proposal by Suga adviser may be hard sell in Japan See in context

This is a good start. Nevertheless the Universal Basic Income should go further as follows:

The Japanese Government should provide an Unconditional Universal Basic Income of at least 3,245,550.00 yen (equivalent of $30,000 United States Dollars) to all of its citizens. Further, the amount should always be adjusted for inflation. If an Unconditional Universal Basic Income went into effect, it would enable anyone who ever falls on difficult times to have a cushion. The Unconditional Universal Basic Income would be the equivalent of throwing someone who is struggling to swim a life jacket. The Unconditional Universal Basic Income should also begin in neighboring countries like Taiwan, Mainland China and so forth and maybe even become a Worldwide Cushion/Life Jacket for everybody.

It is time to get rid of this whole nonsense with classes. There should be no Upper, Middle and Lower Class. Society would function much better as a Classless society. Everybody and Everything should be all equal. It would work much better if wealth and other necessities were distributed evenly. No one should ever be denied food, shelter, water, money and fun. No-one should have more than anyone else as everybody's needs are equally important. No one is special and/or better than anyone else. We are all human and live and breath in the same World. Governments should make sure that everyone's needs are being met and as a result, Universal Basic Income for Eternity would be a milestone and also a cornerstone for making sure everybody's needs are being met.

This is really infuriating how we have individuals who live a lavish lifestyle by owning multiple mansions in various cities/countries, multiple luxurious vehicles, buying designer goods that are necessary and then we have individuals who cannot afford a room. It is time to get rid of indulgence and learn to live with less. Why does someone need multiple gigantic mansions???? Why can't they just be satisfied with a basic/ordinary home????? Rather than having extreme wealth and extreme poverty, it is much better if everyone had their fair share instead so everyone can live a high quality life. Universal Basic Income for Eternity would at least allow for everyone to have the basic necessities and have fun, not be denied any chances in life whether it be professionally or personally. Basic Income would also ensure no one ever gets rejected socially.

In conclusion, if Unconditional Universal Basic Income went into effect for eternity, everyone would be able to sleep better at night, have less stress and therefore have a better quality of life.

Glad no one was injured. Driving in the snow or ice is no joke and can be dangerous and scary. Best to avoid if possible. No job should ever guilt anyone for staying home due to the snow. Safety should always be top priority no matter what.

As to avoiding the snow, ice and terrible Winter Weather, which areas are the best? An educated guess would be anywhere in Okinawa such as Okinawa City, Okinawa, Japan, Naha City Okinawa, Japan, or anywhere in Okinawa.?

This is not to say the Northern Area of the Country is bad it is just that the Winters are terrible. I am sure regarding such Prefectures such as Akita, Aomori, etc the most significant dislike are the harsh Winters. Nevertheless I am sure such Prefectures are beautiful.

"Bernard MarxJan. 2  09:22 am JST

I agree with this One Hundred Percent ("100%"). Thank goodness there is no requirement to have kids. The world is difficult enough without having kids let alone adding a heavy bookbag when trying to climb a mountain. Aside from money, kids make life way more stressful and allow for less relaxation and me time.

Here is the perfect solution to solving this difficult situation:

The Japanese Government should provide an Unconditional Universal Basic Income of at least 3,245,550.00 yen (equivalent of $30,000 United States Dollars) to all of its citizens. I wonder which Prefecture/City gets the most/worst/severe snow in Japan?. Maybe either of the following:

A. Aomori City, Aomori, Japan;

B. Asahikawa, Hokkaido, Japan; or

C. Wakkanai, Hokkaido, Japan.

Nevertheless, I am sure the above three cities/towns are beautiful areas which happen to get hammered by snow.

As to snow, if someone wants to avoid it at all costs, I guess the best place to be in Japan would be anywhere in Okinawa Prefecture Japan whether it is Okinawa City, Okinawa, Japan, Naha City, Okinawa, Japan or other cities in Okinawa etc.?

A class on this type of activity including safe and responsible sexual relations should be given to all youths. It should also be encouraged that this type of activity is not like a handshake or bow as it is an activity where care must be taken and attention must be followed at all times. Before engaging in any kind of activity, it is necessary to think long and hard as to how expensive, difficult, and stressful it is in having a child. Having a child is not like having a doll, it is a monumental task that is extremely difficult to handle. A good amount cannot handle the burden of having a child. It is important that one ask themselves "Can I really handle having the difficult task/burden of having a kid?". A video on how expensive, difficult, burdensome and stressful it is in having a child should be shown to all youths. Such video should illustrate in detail how other individuals who are stuck with a child have an extremely restricted schedule and individuals who do not have the burden of having a child have the freedom of having time with their friends, for themselves, for their careers and therefore having Freedom. Further, if one knows they do not want a child, a smart choice is a Vasectomy (along with the use of a condom). It is way more regretful having an unwanted pregnancy than never having a child.

If individuals asked themselves these questions, these types of incidents would occur less frequently.

The Unconditional Universal Basic Income would be the equivalent of throwing someone who is struggling to swim a life jacket. The Unconditional Universal Basic Income should also begin in neighboring countries like Taiwan, Mainland China and so forth.

The funding of Universal Basic Income should be done by having the government revise the spending. For instance, get rid of wasteful spending. Another thing is to adjust the taxes. Anyone making under 5,197,800.00 yen ($50,000 United States Dollars) should pay zero taxes whether it is income tax, property tax, sales tax. Any taxation necessary should be financed by anyone making considerably more. In other words, the middle or lower income staff members should not have to pay a single yen in taxes. Every single tax yen should be financed by the wealthy. Anyone who is not wealthy should not have to be taxed on any way, shape or form. Therefore, a redistribution of the wealth could be another source of the Universal Basic Income. Nevertheless I know government itself could afford to finance a Universal Basic Income.

Masuda, Mizuno, Sato and Kanamori would benefit tremendously with a Universal Basic Income for eternity. They could feel more relaxed and not have to feel stressed out. These four individuals are excellent excellent examples of someone who could use a Universal Basic Income.

Steady Income of 3,245,550.00 yen (equivalent of $30,000 United States Dollars) should not be negotiable such amount needs to be an entitlement. Also, free shelter, free health insurance, free food, free water, etc should be an entitlement.

This is absolutely ridiculous how we have someone who who lives a lavish lifestyle by owning multiple mansions, multiple high priced vehicles, extremely expensive designer shoes, extremely expensive jackets, their own private nets, their own limousine driver, their own personal chef, their own beach, etc and then we have someone else cannot even afford a small room with two full bathrooms, a studio with two full bathrooms or an Internet cafe room. This inequality needs to end immediately. As a result, Universal Basic Income needs to become reality immediately. The Government needs to get cracking on making this Universal Basic Income a reality immediately.

In conclusion, if Unconditional Universal Basic Income went into effect for eternity, everyone would be able to sleep better at night, have less stress and therefore have a better quality of life.

As we know Japan overall is a safe country. But even in safe countries, there can be areas that are less safe. Is it a safe assumption that Kabukicho is one of the less safe areas in Japan or the least safe area in Japan (actually been to Kabukicho during the day and did not seem threatening)?

Also curious which is the safest Prefecture and/or City in Japan all the way from Wakkanai, Hokkaido, Japan to Naha, Okinawa, Japan.

Nevertheless, I am curious about this:

IF THIS LOWLIFE HAS A JOB AS A NURSERY SCHOOL TEACHER, WHY ON EARTH WOULD HE NEED TO STEAL/ROB ANYTHING FROM ANYONE???????????????????????

Let’s hope the victim makes a full recovery. That is horrible this sort of thing random violence occurred. She was having dinner and enjoying herself and this low life had to do such horrible act of kicking someone for reason. He should be locked up and in solitary confinement for at least 60 years. 60 years and in solitary confinement should be the consequence for any man who commits a violent crime (except in self defense). If 60 years and on solitary confinement was law, this horrible act would be less likely to occur or never occur.

It is shocking this type of thing could occur in Japan. It is understood that Japan along with Singapore, Taiwan and Mainland China are among the safest countries in the world and that ghetto areas such as Camden, New Jersey , USA, Newark, New Jersey, USA, Paterson, New Jersey, USA, Irvington, New Jersey, USA, certain areas of Washington District of Columbia, USA Philadelphia, PA, USA and New York City, USA are virtually non existent in Japan, Taiwan, Mainland China and other areas on the Far East. As a result, one would think walking around at night even in an empty alley at midnight should be safe regardless of gender, age build, etc.

Tokyo-EngrToday  11:21 am JST

@lucabresi.....haha. For sure

There are a lot of unused apartments in Japan these days. Finland’s idea of housing would be a good start for people like Ms. Obayashi.

The above strategies raised could be a good start to solving the lack of shelter issue (not just in Japan but other countries). As to funding Universal Basic Income the Government should adjust the spending and get rid of wasteful spending. I am sure if the Government gets rid of wasteful spending, the Government could find a way to fund 3,115,860.00 YEN a year for everybody. Whatever it takes to get a Universal Basic Income of 3,115,860.00 YEN a year for everybody would absolutely be worth it. Other countries such as Taiwan, Mainland China, etc should follow suit in this Universal Basic Income for Eternity.

Certainly not everybody would be living like Kings with multiple mansions, multiple Rolls Royce Vehicles, multiple Lamborghini's, buying $1,000 designer clothes every single day, buying $1,000 shoes every day, going to five star restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner, every single day, only shopping at high end designer stores, etc and indulging unnecessarily in other extremely expensive means . We do not need to live like a King.

IT IS RIDICULOUS HOW THERE ARE INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE FILTHY RICH WHO OWN MULTIPLE MANSIONS FROM 5,000 SQUARE FEET TO OVER 8,000 SQUARE FEET AND SOME MANSIONS EVEN OVER 10,000 SQUARE FEET, INDULGE UNNECESSARILY, BUT THEN THERE ARE INDIVIDUALS WHO CANNOT EVEN AFFORD A SMALL ROOM. IS THAT FAIR???? ABSOLUTELY NOT.

At the minimum at least everybody could all the way from Wakkanai, Hokkaido Japan to Naha, Okinawa, Japan could have the basics:

A. A Small Room to themselves with two full washrooms;

B. Be able to afford food and to go out to nice restaurants;

C. Be able to do leisure activities such as sightseeing, Arts and Culture, Travel (whether in Japan or abroad), Going to the Beach and other leisure activities;

D. Being able to have social connections;

E. Feeling comfortable knowing if you lose your job, you will ALWAYS have a source of income thereby having a CUSHION.

F. No one would every have any financial concerns.

G. No one would every have to worry about not being of anyone's element.

If someone is in a desert and does not have water, that would be difficult. Universal Basic Income for Eternity would be like someone in the desert without water and now they are guaranteed water for Eternity.

I feel very sorry for that woman. She did not deserve to have that happen to her. Especially if she is in one of the safest countries with the highest quality of life and also in the Shibuya area of Tokyo. Shibuya is known for being a safe and progressive area.

That suspect should receive the firing squad no questions asked.

No one should ever have to be homeless especially in Japan and in a safe/progressive beautiful area like Shibuya, Tokyo.

Here is a good way to extinguish the homeless situation and have no financial worries: UNIVERSAL BASIC INCOME FOR ETERNITY.

The government in Japan should give all its citizens UNIVERSAL BASIC INCOME OF 3,115,860.00 YEN FOR ETERNITY. If everyone received a Universal Basic Income of 3,115,860 YEN for eternity, they would never have to worry about being homeless. They may not be able to live like a King but at least they would have a roof over their head and all the other basics. At least maybe they could afford to live in a small room with two full bathrooms anywhere in Japan all the way from Wakkanai, Hokkaido, Japan to Naha, Okinawa, Japan. Everyone's self esteem would also be better. No one would ever have to worry about money because guess what, you will always have something. One may not be like a King but at least they will always have a source of income. Everyone could sleep better at night.

In conclusion, UNIVERSAL BASIC INCOME OF 3,115,860 YEN FOR ETERNITY NEEDS TO BECOME REALITY.

Here is an Easy/Simple and Universal Solution to these kinds of Issues. The Government of Japan should give every single resident a Universal Basic Income of 3,159,315.00 Yen ($30,000 United States Dollars) for eternity. If the Government of Japan gives every single resident a Universal Basic Income of 3,159,315.00 Yen for eternity, this would solve a significant amount of Financial Issues, everybody would sleep better. This way, if someone loses his or her job, they do not have to stress/worry because you have a LIFEJACKET.

This Universal Basic Income should begin spreading everywhere. For instance, The Chinese Government should give every single Resident of Mainland China 197952 CNY ($30,000 United States Dollars) for eternity as well.

If someone is drowning in the middle of the ocean, it is better to have a life jacket than nothing. A Universal Basic Income is like a Life Jacket and as a result should be an entitlement. In conclusion, the world would be a better place with Universal Basic Income.
