Posted in: If China wants Taiwan, it should also take back land from Russia, president says See in context

The US and Japan have promoted Lai's DPP party for their own purposes.

There was never any freedom in Taiwan throughout the 20th century. Japan ruled Taiwan as a colony until 1945. The US occupation forces handed it over to Chiang Kai Shek, leader of the anti-communist Kuomintang party. The KMT carried out what came to be called the White Terror. Martial law lasted from 1949 to 1987.

The revolutionary Chinese government was blocked from freeing Taiwan by the US Navy which controlled the strait. The US has been grooming the reactionaries on Taiwan for use against China ever since.

The US and Japanese governments do not care about "Taiwan freedom". They care only about using Taiwan as a tool against China.

Taiwan President Lai talks like a US puppet: "the rules-based international order".

That of course is a US propaganda phrase, the rules the US sets for everyone else and itself ignores and violates all the time.

Attempting to pit China against Russia has always been US policy and it just makes Lai sound ridiculous to be lecturing China. The use of territorial issues for anti-China political stunts is now very fashionable now among all the US lapdogs.

The US atomic bombings were war crimes.

The Soviet declaration of war on Japan ended the war, not the atomic bombs.

Truman wanted to use the bombs to intimidate the USSR, his supposed "ally". Truman turned on the USSR and began the cold war shortly after.

Truman murdered countless children and civilians in Nagasaki and Hiroshima.

The US is carrying out a "campaign of confrontation" against China.

Marcos Jr is a US proxy.

Marcos Jr is the son of the disgraced former dictator of the Philippines. The father was also subservient to the US and when he declared martial law in 1972, the Nixon administration supported him wholeheartedly.

Marcos Jr also pays no attention to the Philippine constitution which limits its territory at 118 longitude.

Are you concerned about the future of you family in Asia? You should think hard about the record and motives of the US government.

Of course you cannot develop a country with political stunts.

That is Chinese territory. The Philippines constitution recognizes a 118 longitude limit, not the EEZ.

The Philippines ship rammed the Chinese ship and then pulled ahead in front of it.

This is actually no big deal and happens frequently because it is a survey ship. It happens regularly about every month.

This is an AP American news article and it is really quite hysterical in tone.

You should compare today's NHK article which states this:

"International law grants military vessels of each country the right of innocent passage, just like ordinary ships, so long as they do not harm the order or security of coastal countries."

You should think about who really cares about peace in Asia, about the security of your family, and who is trying to stir up trouble.

The LDP Defense Ministry proposals do not include SDF pay raises.

The LDP lavishes money on US weapons systems, pays a fortune for US bases, and even subsidizes Ukraine.

"As we increase our defensive strength"

The opposite is the case.

The LDP is increasing the offensive capabilities of the SDF.

Drones are for offensive use, as is being demonstrated in both the Ukraine and Gaza wars.

Of course it's all hysterical hype.

And the warmongers and anti-communists who never met a war they didn't love are beating their chests (when they're not bowing to the US).

"Japan, staunchly pacifist for decades, has ramped up defense spending with U.S. encouragement"

Why is the Japanese media, especially NHK, hyping a minor 2 minute alleged airspace violation on the very edge of Japan airspace surrounding islands a good distance from the mainland? NHK's editorial line is the same as the LDP. Kishida recently, as Japan Today reported, urged the LDP to make revising the constitution a top priority. Hence the non-stop anti-China hysteria in the news.

NHK gave this airspace story the top spot in the evening news above Typhoon 10. Neither NHK nor the LDP militarists care in the least about the welfare of the people in Japan. They care only about their selfish, foolish geo-political scheming.

"he should be imprisoned for spreading anti-Japan propaganda. I imagine he is a CCP agent"

The above sounds a lot like the kind of thing you could hear in 1920's, 1930's Japan. That is how the militarists talked. They imprisoned anyone who opposed their war drive.

And how did it turn out? Those militarists brought utter disaster to Japan. And then they sold out Japan. Instead of taking responsibility for their incompetence and foolishness, they cut a deal with the Americans to save themselves and rebranded themselves as the LDP.

"basically the rest of the world does"

"to which China is a member"

The 1898 Treaty of Paris, 1900 Treaty of Washington, 1930 US Great Britain Convention limited Philippine territory at 118 degrees east longitude. That is why the Philippine constitution acknowledged it in 1935.

China has never recognized that 2016 Hague Tribunal which was organized by the same western powers who have practiced colonial exploitation in China and Asia for centuries.

Nor does the entire world support this anti-China maneuvering. That is a kind of argument lifted straight for US State Department position papers.

Posted in: Japanese gov't takes issue with NHK radio's unscripted Senkaku remarks See in context

The Diaoyu islands are indeed Chinese territory.

The Chinese contract worker told the truth.

Japan stole them from China in 1895 and renamed them as the "Senkaku islands" in 1900.

It was war booty from the Sino-Japanese War.

Why did NHK's controllers in the LDP react so hysterically to one statement by a contract worker on a minor media source? This is how it works with big lies. Even a little bit of truth is very dangerous to a big lie.

The militarists of the LDP are trying with all their might to turn Japan into a war state again despite the pacifist feelings of the big majority of people. These pacifist feelings are the direct result of the last disaster that the militarists brought to Japan when they invaded China and launched what would become the Pacific war with America.

Posted in: Philippines says China's South China Sea moves 'aggressive, unprofessional and illegal' See in context

It is Philippines president Marcos Jr who is engaging in aggressive, unprofessional and illegal behavior. Why does he carry out these stunts? The answer is that he has made the Philippines a vassal state of America, giving full access to use the Philippines as a military base to threaten China.

Of course it would be embarrassing to admit to the Philippine people that he is a US puppet. And so these provocations are used to sell the US puppet to his electorate as a strong leader standing up to China.

Naturally both the US and Japanese media are happy to headline his stunts since they fit their anti-China editorial stance.

Posted in: Philippines says China's South China Sea moves 'aggressive, unprofessional and illegal' See in context

These South China Sea islands are Chinese territory.

The 2016 Hague arbitration ruling ignored China's treaty claims and the history of the islands. It claimed Philippine ownership simply based on geographical proximity. The supposedly impartial court is in reality western former colonial powers trying to impose their will on China. It was a ruling that served US interests.

Philippines president Marcos Jr is carrying out these regular provocations as PR stunts. You can expect them again and again in the future. The reason for this is the revived Philippine alliance with the US. His father, Ferdinand Marcos, the disgraced former dictator was also a favorite of the US. Nixon gave full support to Marcos' declaration of martial law in 1972.

If you think China is a "poor country" similar to the Philippines then you have been sleeping for the last 30 years. Take a look at Youtube videos of China if you are not familiar with what China is like today.

The 1898 Treaty of Paris, 1900 Treaty of Washington, 1930 US Great Britain Convention limited Philippine territory at 118 degrees east longitude. That is why the Philippine constitution acknowledged it in 1935.

Scarborough Shoal is Chinese territory.

That was a Marcos Jr provocation flight. So his government stages a provocation and pretends to be shocked when China follows standard procedure. Then AFP hypes it all up.

The Philippine Constitution recognizes the western limit of Philippine territory at 118 degrees longitude. But such factual details and the constitution do not matter to the son of the former disgraced dictator, now warmly embraced by the USA.

What RFK Jr said: "Three causes drove me to enter this race in the first place. And these are the principal causes that persuaded me to leave the Democratic Party and run as an independent and now to throw my support at President Trump. The causes were free speech, war in Ukraine and the war on our children."

RFK Jr did not talk about the war in Gaza. He talked about one specific war.

Why do you think Reuters did not report what RFK Jr said about the Ukraine war and instead changed the wording to the vague "ending wars"?

Warmonger and militarist politicians like Haley and Noda pretend to stand for the self-determination of Taiwan and are worried about the Taiwan Strait. Actual knowledge of Taiwan's history is useful.

Colonial powers like the Dutch and Spanish invaded the Taiwan Strait, followed much later by the Americans. Japanese imperialists made Taiwan their colony.

In the Sino-Japan war of 1894-95, Japan invaded Taiwan and took control of it away from the Qing dynasty of China.

After Japan's defeat in 1945, control of Taiwan returned to the Kuomintang ROC government.

The Kuomintang was defeated by the CCP in 1949 and retreated from the mainland to Taiwan.

The US navy began patrolling the Taiwan strait in 1950 at the same time as the Korean war began and has been arming Taiwan ever since.

The Kuomintang were defeated by the CCP in 1949 and retreated from the mainland to Taiwan.

The US navy began patrolling the Taiwan strait in 1950 at the same time as the Korean war began. This effectively blocked the CCP from any further military actions against the Kuomintang in Taiwan.
