How about NRT to MIA?/ When is Japan Air going to wake up and open routes that will be profitable... the beaches , Disney and Latin flavor in South Florida would sure atrract Japanese tourists right?? I'd rather get on one plane and call it a day instead of having to stop at LAX or ORD when I fly to Miami. The Boeing 787 is the perfect size for this route.

Japan needs to do what is best for Japan in this case.... they need the Iranian oil... or if they do stop buying it, then they must convince the US to sell it oil at the same price as the Iranian oil... fair enough yes?? In reality, Japan really needs to diversify it's resources and become a real player again, without the direction of Washington. They can develop energy constructs with Russia in the nearby Kuril islands for natural gas and oil... they also need to start pulling gas from the East China Sea... although China will get angry... but Japan needs to do this in order to survive. What, they should let China drain all the gas? With multi-national energy deals with its Asian neighbors, Japan can become a "real" country , slowly wean itself off the USA... and finally other REAL PLAYERS will take Japan seriously, cause these days, everybody around these parts (East Asia) looks at Japanfor what it is, a puppet of the US.

Exactly... Japan should watch... as really, that's about all Japan can do in this case! The US will never let Japan re-arm just like they will never leave Japan. So, the Japanese can rest without worries and continue lving their modern Heain fantasy....

This paves the way for the goal at hand... which is the removal of Assad from power... and then install a friendlier leader... call it a puppet?? This leader will do what the West becons him to do.. and the first thing will be to kick out the Russian naval base in Tartus and sever all relations. This country will then turn into a another Iraq and Afghanistan., countries without solid governments and terrorists operating at will. The war will continue there just like it is in Lybia... and Iraq... and Afghanistan. But it will serve well for the real plan.... the total encirclement of Russia and China, and the vast oil, mineral, and gas wealth of Central Asia..Syria is just one of the pieces of the grand chess game.

Posted in: Fears grow of Israeli attack on Iran See in context

How abou letting the diplomatic channels workt this out... and then let the IAEA oversee the peacefuluse of nuclear energy in the Middle East. Surely these countries know what's up... the oil will be gone by 2030 and then what?? back to candles and coal? I believe that Israel has as much blame in the present context as does Iran... why can Israel have nucalear weapons?? Is it a fact that Iran is making nuclear weapons? Probabbly not, and believe me I wouldn't want to see Iran with nukes as they are a slightly too radical for my taste.. then again so is Israel. The only solution here is to let the IAEA do it's job... gather the facts and then make a decision... this could spark WW3 and the world community needs to act responsibly in handling the matter. If israel attacks, then Iran will fire back...it will destablize the region for decades to come... as the Gulf states will be seen as sellouts by the the rest of the Middle East... the sides are shaping up already. If it sodes happen... I only hope the US or Russia will not take sides and "support" one or the other., but it's probably gonn ahappen anyway. What a mess!!!

Posted in: ANA plane has mishap upon landing at Sendai airport See in context

It seems Sendai airport has very strong winds and chop this time of year... like most other airports in Japan. I flew out on an ERJ-170 to Osaka and the climb was rather choppy at best. On return To Sendai, the descent was also very choppy and the pilots were very busy the whole time from about flight level 110... tedious work as the aircraft swooped up an down and sideways numerous times... upon final approach the aircraft was buffeted with strong turbulence and several micro-bursts.. pushed it down about a hundred feet beforre the crew leveled it off for the apporach with increased throttle..... and this happened at about 500 ft. I think that was the roughest landing I've ever flown. I can vouch that Sendai is not a fun approach sometimes and I'm sure this ANA bird got into something heavy there. The crew deserves a pat on the back for a job well done!!

If I were Bashaar Assad, I would relinquish power and go live somewhere happily ever after... somewhere safe where the Mossad will not get to me. Then again if he truly believes he is right, and the country is being attacked by rebels being instigated from outside, I think I would fight to the death!! I certainly would not be a pawn for the West and I would fight my enemies, after all I am man.

Posted in: Japan, U.S. to discuss Iran sanctions See in context

Like I said, it's time for Japan to grow some and become a real country again, not the puppet of the US. Japan has neighbors here in east Asia while the US is 5000 miles away... very convenient. Really, look at the geopolitical situation now... and plan for the future. Unfortunately, the US has instigated so many wars over the last 40 years while installing puppet dictators for the benefit of America, that it is becoming an unwanted partner in various spheres. The only thing that keeps it on top is its control of the oil industry through the petrodollar and its military might, which is there to support the petrodollar. That's why the US is in the Middle East and literally controls all the oil. Iran doesn't want to use the petrodollar anymore, and America is furious about it, Look at what happened to Iraq and Lybia, they also stopped using the petrodollar and got invaded in return. Why? Because the US got the oil sheiks in Saudi Arabia and the gulf to sell in dollars only, by guaranteeing their sovereignty. 90% of the world's oil is sold in petrodollars as a result, making America's coffers full with an endless supply of revenue to prop up its economy and will not stand anybody shaking up the arrangemnt. The BRICS are steadily moving away fom the dollar, people are starting to wake up and are asking why it has to be this way? Who really benefits from it? Will Japan benefit from sanctioning Iran.... probably not. I only hope the J-gov will take a real deep look adn make the most educated decision for the benefit of its people.

Yes, these Ukrainian nuclear experts were brought in by the J-gov and the nuclear energy establishment. They are here to help reassure people that Fukushima Daichi although serious, doesn't comapare to the accident in Chenrnobyl, and that it's safe to come back to the low radiation areas. They wouldn't be saying this if it wasn't true, as anybody who really knows would repudiate their reports. They are nuclear energy experts from a respected nuclear research center with the experience of Chernobyl behind them.

Posted in: Japan, U.S. to discuss Iran sanctions See in context

It is high time for Japan to grow some "cojones" and make a real decision for the good of the people of Japan. No second guessing or bowing to the almighty USA. If the US would really have any good intentions for Japan (besides continuing to occupy it for its own advantage) , then the US would guarantee Japan with American oil at the same price as the Iranian oil, fair enough? I really don't see this happening as otherwise the US would have offered already. The US wants to get its cake and eat it too!

Posted in: Japan protests to China over undersea gas drilling See in context

I say Japan should go and start drilling and build several huge gas platforms on it's own EEZ with a missile cruiser in close proximity at all times This will show China that Japan is serious about it's own survival too and they will not cross a "red line". Energy sources will be at high demand in the near future to fuel the developed world's economies. There is only so much energy to go around, and this is were it will get critical. The big players are already moving the chess pieces around the globe and it looks like Japan is behind in the game.

These crappy "National roads" are nothing but single lane, pot-hole filled highways without shoulders or actual rest stops. They're dangerous to drive at night even in the summer as they barely have any lighting. Now add some heavy snow and darkness of night and this is the result. Seen better roads in small towns in Korea. Take it frome me, I live up here!

This is just a cop out by the government. They never intended to have any foreign health caretakers to begin with. It was just a ploy to give the illusion that Japan has progressed in the immigration/racial arena, as it's perenially at the bottom of the list of "open" countries. Otherwise the tests would be more realistic and the applicants would actually be able to pass it. As it is now, even Japanese applicants would have trouble making the grade!! What a farce!!

As things heta up in the Middle East, Japan and Russia have the opportunity to soften the blow, as they can engage in trade adn energy projects that will benefit both countries. It's also good they will implement security ties, to reassure each other, especially Japan as China and the US will spar for inluence over East Asia, and little Japan will become less and less important in years to come. It's good to have such economic and energy ties with an Russia as an Asian neighbor too, and not only have ties with a fading superpower in North America. Gringos go home!

It's just as I had forethought... this country is going down fast. With the ineptitude of Japan Clowns Inc. and the public's inability to demand positive change this beautiful country is doomed to forever wane and finally expire from the list of countries that matter. No, they will not be able to export their way back to economic health as Soth Korea now makes better TVs and caught up in the mass automobile insdustry, undercutting the Japanese exporters, not to mention the ridiculous Yen exchange rate cutting any profits that are made overseas. The only solution is to cut spending and insert the hike tax at 15% like the IMF recommended. Simultaneously they must stop all slush funds and waste and audit the governmentt... no more stealing money by the crooked politicians!! Anew , younger breed of professionals needs to run the govenrment. These are times for drastic measures and huge fiscal reform must be implemented to keep this ship afloat.

Japan has to let this one go. The islands have been administered and lived on by South Korea for ages! I am usually pro-Japan on important issues as long as they make sense.... but this is outright nonsense!!! The islands are Korean, period andmuch like the Kurils, they will never be Japanese. Get over it Japan...and Oginome, you're right about the Asperger's syndrome.... I've often wondered why Japanese seem to have this "we are superior" complex in such a non-chalant kind of way. My wife is Japanese and naturally have many Japanese friends and sometimes they shock me with some of the things they say. Ridiculous!!

Now if they bought a few more Mirages, like, Rafale, and a couple of sporty Mistral ships, some really good Russian SAM systems like S-300 then they could give it a try!! But really, this is stupid!!!

Posted in: Japan to name islands in disputed area See in context

Geaographically speaking, the islands should belong to Japan or Taiwan, certainly not China. We'll see how this develops after they name them, although I don't think Taiwan or China will recongnize it. The end result will be that Japan will keep them and develop them because the US will back them. China doesn't want to stir it up with the US just yet... but later, then Japan will have to grow some teeth... I believe a lot of problems in Japan would be solved if the J-gov kicked the Americans out and became responsible for the defense of their country again. The pacifist constitution needs to be dropped as it's a relic of a bygone era., and there was a real miltary all the crooks wouldn't have money to steal because it would be going for defense procurement programs and the men here would be real men, not the wussies they are now. That's why China and North Korea have no respect for Japan.

The J government needs to study the sanctions scenario very carefully., as it could have damaging impact to the economy and insudtry trying to rebound from the earthquake and tsunami. It is a clear balancing act.. but it is time for Japan to act on what will be better for Japan and her people. The world is all about survival of the fittest, and Japan is in no way fit to put up with the repercussions of unilateral policy making by the US. Time for Japan to become Nihon again.

They'll be begging for handouts from Europe ad the US?? They will also run out of oil!!! Stop the war mongering and try to address the real problem... find alternative energy solutions!!
