CP are not the same caring company they used to be. On a flight from HK to LHR, they were really rude to my 16 year old son and an Australian policewoman. And their prices have gone through the roof!

Flu vaccine has been around over 40 years, but we still get the flu. This vaccine has not been tested anywhere near enough yet to be deemed safe and effective. You'd have to be highly gullible to believe it's safe at this stage!

This comment nicely displays the posters lack of knowledge regarding this virus.

Truth is international marriages are just too risky.

Wow! With oversight like this, you should probably get out more!

Posted in: Two fathers in Europe demand action against Japan over parental child abduction See in context

Mothers in international marriages should not have to find it difficult to escape abuse and keep their children with them. The fathers use international law to continue to abuse their ex wives.

Absolute tosh!

I have never known a Japanese wife to go so far as stealing away children. Unless, the husband was a drunkard, violent, or refused to work for the family. If it happens beyond those circumstances I believe it would be a distinct, and very small, minority. Drunkard, and/or violent - would account for most

Also absolute tosh!

Me and my first wife lived like this and it was a miserable existence! Ultimately it ended in divorce.

You have to give each other space, but not so much that you wind up apart permanently.

No way in hell is Okinawa the cheapest place to live in! And it's an overpopulated mess! Not a whole lot of fun in summer unless you like living in an oven.

Hokkaido is an amazing place and ideal if you want to live in a place with milder summers and long winters, with many tourist options that are affordable.

Posted in: Ghosn's wife slams Japanese justice See in context

As Sakarasuki said, it's evident that a coup was in the works long before Ghosn was arrested. The fact that Saikawa was behind it, later guilty of fund misappropriation himself, and is not behind bars, shows the absolute bias and discrimination of the joke that is the Japanese justice system!

Japanese gov't, prosecutors condemn Ghosn's remarks in Lebanon

Of course they do. They're too proud to admit any wrong doing. And Mori calling the Japanese judicial system fair, is the best laugh I've had this week!

Posted in: Ghosn denies wrongdoing; says his arrest in Japan a conspiracy See in context

I watched the entire thing, and the questions from the Japanese reporters were assanine at best. It was obvious they judged him already. They were more concerned about whether he felt remorse for absconding from Japan. And of course, officials here continue to lambast him. It's pathetic.

Prosecutors here think they're saving face by issuing this farcical arrest warrant! They're not. They're simply adding to their image of being underhanded, unfair and biased!

The Japanese justice system is a joke, as is the Japanese media!

Posted in: Fewer than 900,000 new Japanese babies this year for first time on record See in context

The demographics look bad because the idiots running the country, keep trying to get more taxes from the declining population, in a misguided effort to keep the economy at a point where it is sustainable for a larger population! More financial burden on people who see little to no change in salary, isn't exactly an incentive to have more kids!

Posted in: Do you enjoy spending the Christmas-New Year period in Japan? See in context

Last two Christmases at home were bitter sweet. 2016, 26th my brother succumbed to the cancer he'd been bravely fighting for 3 years. Got to talk to him by phone Christmas day but he passed as I was boarding my flight.

Christmas 2017 was the last one at home with my mother. Sadly she passed away April 2018.

Last year was here in Japan and like this year, I was working.

But now I have a new family and a baby, so I'm looking forward to Christmas here this year.

I drive that route 4x a week. The entire 2 lanes in each direction are separated by a concrete island with bushes, so the truck driver had to have been at fault.

It's a busy route that has massive amounts of traffic all day and a lot of drivers, both cars and trucks, treat it like a racetrack, despite regular speed traps!
