It is really sad that young Japanese would be so disillusioned with life that they feel better off dying than continuing to live. They have no idea how people in other parts of the world envy the lives they're throwing away.

Japanese, in general, take customer service to a great level. My family visited a certain restaurant, Kado, in Muikamachi, Minamiuonuma City, very often. We always ate the same thing, Karai Karee Raisu (spicy curry rice). So predictable had we become that when we would pull into the parking lot, the chef would see us getting out of our car and would start preparing our meal. By the time we were seated and our water was served, our food would be ready. One day, however, we decided, for the first time, to try something different. We ordered Buta Miso (miso and pork). The waitress said "oh no, your karai kare is almost ready". She brought us our order and added that the chef will let us take the karai karee home with us as saabisu (extra service). That was a lot of kindness and extraordinary customer service.
