Posted in: Obscure at home, 'Texas Daddy' is a right-wing darling in Japan See in context

The Japanese right wing is just so utterly ridiculous and incoherent, that it is hard to take them even remotely serious. Their lack of rational thinking even trumps the right wing ideologies in other countries. I mean it’s probably the only right wing movement in the world that is pro US government. That already says it all. What kind of mental leap does it take to be pro Japanese empire AND pro US occupation at the same time? Is this even real?

Under a "no names until proven guilty" scheme, we would be unable to be told who in the Abe cabinet was taking bribes.

Different rules apply for people who are of public interest. Celebrities, politicians etc. Also their pictures are not covered by privacy law, unlike those of ordinary citizens. I think this is just fair.

Why did the governments let them in in the first place? If you let in one, keeping out the rest of Africa isn't really fair. Transporting, or more appropriately letting people tron unseaworthy boats from their home country to a country far away geographically and culturally, with no plan of returning. That's not asylum, that is mass migration.

What I want from a movie, is authenticity. That means accurate, not politically correct depiction of diversity and homogeneity. NO black vikings/knights, NO white indians/samurai, NO fake blonde superwomen or steroid supermen as everyday guys.

Germans maybe. But do you really believe Angela Merkel or the government makes decisions based on feelings? They know exactly what they are doing. This is power politics as almost any conflict is. Don't believe the stories they spin!

Posted in: Czech leader calls migrant wave in Europe an 'organised invasion' See in context

That's what it is. But I wouldn't blame the refugees so much as politicians like Merkel who is responsible for instigating this mass invasion, faking compassion in order to gain leverage in the EU, lowering wages and boosting the corrupt social services industry and at the same time fueling war, making business with totalitarian regimes and selling weapons to the Middle East.

For example, internal migration in China, Brazil and India involves millions and dwarfs international migration numbers, with the biggest movement of people in history taking place in China over the last 35 years, it said.

Internal migration of culturally similar and well-adjusted people is not comparable to a mass invasion without functioning border checks and the rule of law.

“How would California’s agricultural industry or the Texan oil fields survive without the presence of hundreds of thousands of Mexicans and Central American workers, often laboring on minimal wages?,” the report said.

There is no shortage of unemployed people in Europe looking for jobs. There is a shortage of jobs that pay enough to survive without government assistance.

Banri Kawai, formerly Nguyen Van Ry, works at a facility in eastern Japan that houses five former Vietnamese refugees with mental illness. He said they had been bullied by their Japanese seniors at work. “They lost sleep and developed mental conditions,”

Japan is obviously not able or willing to integrate or accommodate foreign cultures (and why should they? Multiculturalism is a Western neocon concept), so it's better they give aid money than take in refugees who won't ever be happy here.

It is true that some events closer to home get more coverage here, but then again, isn't that the same in every country? Also, the terror attack in Turkey was not an attack against Turkey but against Kurds by IS supported by the Turkish government, so if you wanna fly a flag, fly the Kurdish one.

Japan might be able to absorb immigrants willing to assimilate. But this is for the Japanese to decide. I'm just sceptical of globalization in general. It has made many things easier, but just as many things were lost. It's a zero-sum game, as "progress" always is. A world full of Starbucks, McDonalds, of exchangeable values, cities and people, that just doesn't appeal to me. But maybe I'm just a romantic.

Posted in: Ready or not, Japan on the way to becoming a nation of immigrants See in context

For the same reason, it’s unlikely a terrorist incident such as the one that took place at the offices of Charlie Hebdo in France last January, would occur in Japan, because a more tolerant people are less inclined to discriminate other religions.

This is so funny. So a terrorist attack like in Paris won't happen in Japan - not because there won't be adherents of a terrorist religion among the immigrants - but because the Japanese cave in out of preemptive obedience. How nice. This is exactly why Japan shouldn't take in too many, especially religious immigrants. Japanese may not be as guilt-ridden as the Germans, but they are certainly more conflict avoidant and that will make immigration the same cultural genocide that is happening in Europe.
