Get the shot. Don't get the shot. I don't care what you do. I will get the shot as soon as it's available to me (which looks like 10 years from now for us here in Japan).

I just wish people had the same attitudes towards those infernal and useless masks. Wear a mask. Don't wear a mask. I don't care what you do. But when I come close to hypoventilating from wearing a mask, I'm not going to do it. There is no way a flimsy piece of paper or cloth will keep me safe. I choose to just stay at home.

Show me the VACCINE!

Everyone should boycott the Olympics and all their sponsors. Don't attend and don't watch. Volunteers should decide to phone in sick the day they are to start. Make Suga, Hashimoto, Bach, and everyone else involved suffer as much as the public is. Switch from Coke to Pepsi. The Olympics have been and will be the absolute ruin of Japan.

I love Japan. I have lived here almost 30 years, well more than half of my life. I have no desire to go back to my home country, or any other country. In all likelihood, I will die here in Japan. And because of the ineptitude of the Japanese government, it looks like it will be due to COVID-19. Show me the VACCINE!

I used to want grandchildren. No more. I don't want any child to suffer through having to wear masks or being shamed for not doing so. I don't want any child to live under a government that would rather put a two-week sports event over the health of their citizens. I'll suffer through it, but I hope no one else has to.

Samit Basu beat me to it. It's the 21st century. So called "royalty" has no place in this world. I was so disappointed when the boy was born. Such a wonderful opportunity to just let this stupid institution die out.

I wonder if there are any actual statistics on the number of confirmed cases of foreigners being infected. I doubt they are available, but it would be interesting to look at.

The best thing to do with President Trump is to ignore him. He'll be gone in less than a week. He craves the public eye. Ignoring him would be the best vengeance.

More voices are better. What is needed is for the readers to get educated as to what is real and what is not. Let the apples fall where they may. Most people know how to determine the difference. To shut someone out, and more so, to let others know that you are shutting someone out, just gives that person's base something to shout out about.

I don't mind the music so much. It's every employee that sees me screaming "IRASSHAIMASE" that makes me cringe. I often reply with, "Irasshaimashita." I mean, really, I'm there. They don't have to tell me where I am.

One party rule never works out well. I'm no friend of Republicans, but to give carte blanche to the Democrats is also a recipe for disaster.

If I, as a pedestrian, am hit by a car, I will be injured, or killed.

If I, as a driver, hit a pedestrian resulting in injury or death, I will likely get a suspended sentence.

Be a good pedestrian. Yield to the vehicles.

And this after having had two near misses (as a driver) recently, because the pedestrians were wearing dark clothes at night. Come on, man! (In my best impersonation of Joe Biden.) When I am walking the streets I have on bright orange colors. Legally, the fault is on the driver. Practically, it is on the pedestrian.

I have no idea why people still think the Olympics will take place. And if they do take place, that the even will be nothing that anyone watches. Who's going to come? Not I. And I live here in Japan.

Just cancel the damn thing and stop wasting money, time, and resources better spent on taking care of real issues.

Still throwing good money after bad.

It would be cute that some people still think the Olympics are going to happen, except for all the wasted money.

Mori is a former prime minister, but from what I remember, was one of the least popular ever. Maybe I'm wrong. It's been a while.

Taking your own life is as selfish as taking someone else life, the pain and suffering does not end, it gets even worse for the loved ones you leave behind.

And always remember the sun will always rise and bring you a NEW Day and a fresh start.

Umm... No. Not necessarily. It must be nice to have such a fulfilling life. It is not selfish to take your own life. It is selfish to expect others to live for you.

NO lockdowns, No stay home orders, so Get out and get going.

Here, I agree with you.

Why anyone is traveling, and why the government is trying to expand travel at this time when there is still no approved vaccine or treatment is beyond me. Be like me. Stay at home. And to the government, I agree with Yubaru. Using my tax yen to finance such a fiasco is downright criminal.

I wish they would make it permanent, but I'll take what I can get. My wife is Japanese, so she would have to pay full price. Still, I haven't seen my children since last December, and I desperately want to see them. This is just what I need. Whether they come up here (Iwate), or I go down there (Kanto), I don't care. I just want to see my children live and in person again.

I of course don't know your situation, but my children have two passports, Japanese and US. Based on this article, if your children have a foreign passport, they could probably use that.

A few years ago Adam Lambert made a solo Japanese tour and I was able to see him in Sendai. One of the best concerts I have ever been to. I thought I would never have the chance to see him again, but that same year he came with Queen and I got to see him and them at the Nihon Budokan. Again, one of the best concerts I have ever been to. Queen still has it, and though Freddie can't be replaced, Queen has found a great singer to continue their work.
