I fail to see any harm in this whatsoever. Whether people are gay or straight, whether they're confused or certain about themselves, they deserve to be treated equally. I don't see why this is an issue in games, nor should it be an issue in real life.

@Kaimycahl Can you give me an example as to why a 7 year old would be out walking on roads at around 4am? I can't think of any genuine reason for it. The "This is the Japanese way" argument is very weak. I'm betting we could all ask our Japanese friends and families and they would say 7 year olds should not be out walking streets at 4am.

Can't say I found that video very funny. Seems to be a panic attack, which I don't find funny. Morons trolling on trains and then videoing and posting a woman close to a breakdown isn't funny to me.

If this is the kind of "out of the box" thinking that Japan is relying on then the country is doomed!!

Mike Sims-Williams - I never heard of that event, but it sounds like a good idea to me. Macabre topics are often difficult to talk about, but it doesn't mean we shouldn't discuss them.

If it's the result of untreated depression or mental illness then it's not cowardly, it's genuinely seeing no other way out.

If someone is trying to escape punishment or embarrassment because of their own cock-up then they need to stand up and face the music. Leaving a mess for others to clean up isn't in any way noble IMO.

Where the overlap between these two is though, I have no idea.

bass4funk - I've read your words. Perhaps I've misunderstood, but when you say you don't believe in gay marriage that makes it sound as if you are against it. Are you saying you're not against it?

Bass4funk - What is it about gay people that leads you to have the opinion that they don't deserve to be treated equally? Why should gay people not be able to enjoy the good and bad times that marriages bring that straight people have had? How would a gay couple marrying have any impact whatsoever on you?

If you say you don't mind people being gay but don't want them to be treated equally to straight people then you're supporting discrimination and you clearly do mind people being gay.

@umbrella I couldn't agree more. Kids do it, teachers do it, bosses in companies do it, I've even see men and women in "loving" relationships do it to each other.

@Ethanwilber It is very important for the govt to make the right reforms, but I fear it's already too late. All we're getting is a lot of this kind of report, telling us nothing of consequence really, certainly nothing new.
