That is not woke. I’ve been assaulted by drunk women. People are equal. If a man hits a woman she should fight back. It goes both ways. But I’m big so I let them punch me, then throw them in the sea to cool down. It always works. Violence doesn’t.

Well goodlucktoyou getting out of that dilemma.

By throwing someone into the sea you might be charged with attempted murder and, even worse, you might be deported.

Again.

She was a criminal, breaking sovereign immigration laws. Her family seems like golddigers. This is a case about an in individual, not Japan’s immigration policy.

japanese investigators should track down who employed her as an illegal. Throw the book at them. Also the fake student visa thing, check her school and all other students.

Haven’t you told us before that you were deported? Didn’t they just pat you on the head and say “Good luck to you” or words to that effect? Tad hypocritical, don’t you think?

Kumagaya was taken to hospital where he died at around 11:30 p.m. due to sever head injuries

I think you mean 'severe.'

'Sever' would be an even more horrific outcome for all concerned.

Wouldn’t be surprised at a low death rate there despite the poverty. The worst combo with Covud is obesity and there’s little of that there outside of the elite. Same in Africa with low vaccinations and low obesity rates.

Hmmm.

Apparently, malnutrition is a solution to COVID-19!

Amazing.

Lot of love here for Heaven’s Gate. I love it as well!

Copland is great, too.

Lynch’s version of Dune has its charm, but the new version is very true to the novel.

I grew up a few kilometers from where the series was shot. My neighborhood looked very similar, but the people there were characteristic of the post-WWII diaspora: ten-pound Poms, the Dutch, Hungarians, Māori, Hong Kong Chinese, etc.

Posted in: Tiananmen masses banned as crackdown memorials erased in Hong Kong See in context

China demolished the free Hong Kong over night.

No, it was a gradual, careful process, like the metaphor of a frog being boiled.

The mass exodus of HKers (who could afford it) started as early as the beginning of the 1980s. With the Cultural Revolution and Great Leap Forward (not so far away) in the rear vision mirror, many people saw the writing on the wall when the UK’s hand weakened during that time.

This is messed up beyond belief.

Fully agreed

Britain should’ve maintained control over Hong Kong.

De-colonial regret? Check history. I doubt this would have worked well in a number of ways.

If only the people had had a 2nd amendment, they could’ve at least resisted a little better.

“If everyone had the right to bear arms” would be putting it better. Not every country has a constitution to be amended or a Bill of Rights to be addressed.

China demolished the free Hong Kong over night.

While Newton was in prison, their minister of information, Eldridge Cleaver, tried to take control of the party. Cleaver was an ex-con who had written **Soul on Ice, a series of essays on his political journey from “supermasculine menial” to arch-black liberationist. In the book, he admitted to raping white women as “an insurrectionary act”, an outlook he recanted without ever quite losing the misogyny and racism that informed it.**

Like I said, criminal thugs

Even the most die hard doomsday guys must see that life has to continue as normal now. Weather is getting better, time to focus on what’s important in life, not on something that is highly unlikely to effect your life.

But earlier today…

World is in turmoil, anything can change anytime. No longer in a world with any stability, this century has been chaos so far and doesn’t look likely to change any time soon.

Which is it to be? Normality or turmoil? Very ‘queer’ posts, as often noted here.
