F1 from a competition stand point is boring to watch. The aerodynamics create so much turbulent air behind them so the cars trailing lose 50% downforce which makes overtaking extremely difficult. Team budgets play an immense role in staying competitive which is why Mercedes and Ferrari are always at the front of the grid. The pattern seems to be like this, one of the works drivers will take poll position and finish 1st yawn.
