The greed of the Italians was only matched by the stupidity of the Japanese. Nobody wins.

Operation 'Liberation Iraq' continues apace. I wonder how Abeer feels about it but then she's not American, is she? It was Vietnam, now Afghanistan and Iraq. Next year Iran. And for what? And Mr.Green doesn't even get the death penalty. I'm sure his lawyer is very proud. And Abeer and her family ... Justice ...?

What's all the fuss about? There were around 500,000 abortions in Japan last year. What's a few minutes more or less? "The Japanese system, the families of both father and mother should all hang their heads in shame for letting this innocent baby meet it's end so tragically and so prematurely." It happens all the time. If a baby can be killed legally at nine months ..."

FromEurope. Sarcasm? I know I shouldn't. Osakadaz. Where's the money? It was Henry Ford all those years ago. Who is it now? Everything you said is true but it's going to happen again and again and again and again. "However, the independent Government Accountability Office reported to Congress earlier this year that the withdrawal would be a “massive and expensive effort” that would likely increase war costs by billions." Brainwashing doesn't come into it. How do you know a politician is lying? His lips are moving.

But where are they going next? Iraq has been liberated just as Vietnam was. Iran? Syria? Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Posted in: Kennedy remembered for 'dream he kept alive' See in context

“The Mass of Christian burial weaves together memory and hope” Nothing is impossible for God but he must be struggling with Ted. Was he a voice for the most vunerable, the most innocent of human beings? Anything but. The Catholic Church is a strange place sometimes. He should have been excommunicated but he's given a full Catholic burial?

****the funeral Mass on Saturday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Basilica I don't get it. Kennedy was a fervent abortion rights supporter. Don't Catholics excommunicate people with such beliefs? I'm sure Edward is having a nice chat with the late J.C. about "which part of 'thou shalt not kill didn't you understand?"'

I don't think the Honda Classic is a major. The majors have been a bit strange this year with a 59 year old almost winning the Btitish Open and now Yang upsetting Mr.Woods. Not a good result for Japan.

Posted in: You're Bob Dylan? NJ police want to see some ID See in context

"I Want You" by Dylan is as good as it gets musically. Both from a singing and a writing point of view.

**The guilty undertaker sighs, The lonesome organ grinder cries, The silver saxophones say I should refuse you. The cracked bells and washed-out horns Blow into my face with scorn, But it's not that way, I wasn't born to lose you.

I want you,**

Crazy but brilliant. This story just confirms that Dylan is COOL. (I think)

Um muniqui19 What I was trying to say was that if I had a choice between going to a cricket match or watching a baseball game or watching paint dry I'd choose the latter. Just a personal preference.

Posted in: Holocaust denier begins jail term in Australia See in context

PleasureGelf Thanks for that. I have checked the figures and "estimated" is the word that keeps coming up. My main point is that the Jews aren't the only people to have suffered. Calling a person a 'Holocaust denier' is much the same as calling someone a 'Facist' or a 'Homophobe' when we don't like what they are saying. It's not a rational argument.

Posted in: Holocaust denier begins jail term in Australia See in context

I was just asking the innocent question 'why 6 million'? Why noy 6.5 million or 5.5 million? Everything about the holocaust seems to be set in stone. Of course the Jews suffered terribly but they haven't a monopoly on suffering. Why is it when the holocaust is discussed no one mentiones the 6+ million poles, gypsies and other "undesirables" that the Nazis killed in addition to the Jews? Why indeed? What about the millions who were murdered by Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot ... Has anyone heard of the Armenian Genocide? Don't put Toben in jail. Prove categorically that he is wrong.

*He suggested only 2,007 people could have been killed at the camp.

Researchers estimate that between 1.1 million and 1.5 million people—mainly Jews—were killed at Auschwitz by the Nazis. In total, 6 million Jews were killed in the genocide.*

I've often wondered why 6 million? Where did that figure come from? Oops not supposed to ask that question, am I?

I wear a Bermuda shorts arrangement and look very cute. Why in this beautiful modern world of ours are people so scared of being, looking different? The burquini sounds awful but let her look awful. It's her problem. "Under the policy, swimmers are not allowed in pools with baggy clothing, including surfer-style shorts. Only figure-hugging suits are permitted." Liberté, égalité, fraternité where are you?

Oh dear, oh dear, the truth hurts doesn't it? Otherwise why so angry? Maybe George Michael has coloured my vision somewhat but gays have to face up to the fact that there's isn't the only agenda in town. There are lots of sexual preferences. Some do more harm than others.

Pukey2 The fact that he's going to spend a part of his life looking for partners in outside tiolets is HIS problem. The fact that 90% of people believe what he is doing is unnatural is a problem. I know that's not what statistics show but statistics are made up by trendy intellectuals bent on being PC.
