It’s heart breaking to read about these murder suicide type incidents. What must be going through the peoples minds to kill their own children? A fit of rage? Untreated mental illness? I can’t imagine what the husband must be going through right now.

These privately run clubs usually charge 8000-10000 yen a month or more. Who is going to pick up the bill for this? It will hit households hard in addition to the recent price rises for food and essential items.

Lots of people out buying water and supplies this morning. It makes a lot of sense to have at least 7 days food and water stored in your house if you can. And a mini gas stove to cook rice, etc.

The wolf on the hill is not as hungry as the wolf climbing the hill. It’s easy to get complacent when you’ve already won a few gold medals. Something that his younger sister learned the hard way.

Wow that was embarrassing to watch. She’s needs to learn how to lose gracefully and not throw a tantrum like a spoiled child.

A modern office building made from concrete and steel and constructed according to newer building codes collapsed on its side crushing a restaurant building and killing the owner's wife and children.
Wasn’t that building built in 1971?

I wonder if the woman and her son were wearing seatbelts. It’s common to see small children not wearing seatbelts, even stood up in the back of the car, etc.

Sadly it seems there were only cones and plastic poles in front of the spectators so there was no protection for them in the event of an accident.

Went up there a few years ago. There were six of us (a family) and the cost was something crazy like 40,000 yen or something. It’s something that you’ll do once in a lifetime and never again. Totally overrated in my opinion.

I did a lot of research before taking my toddler on a bike (in a child seat with a helmet). All the sources I found advised to wait until the child is at least one year old so they are old enough to cope with the bumps of being in a seat child.

Riding a bike whilst carrying a baby in a baby carrier is incredibly dangerous and something that I see quite often here in Japan. It is not recommended to carry a baby in a proper bicycle baby seat until they are at least one year old, so how can it be o.k to be carried on the back with no protection whatsoever? In my option, this should be made illegal if it is not already.

To set the record straight, I have no beef against that guy. It's the fact that he was justifying the racist old guy by suggesting that some foreigners cause trouble therefore it's o.k to discrimate against them. And what's more surprising is the number of people on this site who have the 'if you don't like it, then go home' attitude. Obviously they are happy being discriminated against and have no desire to improve the situation. Of course racism ( or bigotry) exists in all countries. What's even worse is people trying to excuse or justify it.

He is a Japan apologist - let's say a black person tried to use a toilet and was told "sorry, whites only", that would be classified as racism. However a Japanese telling a foreigner that he can't use the toilet "because foreigners cause trouble" is acceptable? It's time Japan woke up to the 21st century and foreigners who make excuses for racist behavior are no better than the racists themselves.
