I know it happens all over the whole... I'm not that concerned with other counties as much as I'm with Japan... I live here and my family is here. That's why I'm talking about Japan.

I quote "I say good luck to them. My mother was 19 when she married my dad who was 31 and they had 44 years of bliss together."

AT least they were legal.. enough said

It's no wonder why Japan has a huge problem with old men liking "preteen girls". They thinks it's Kawaii and all that. They put them up on a pedestal saying look this couple is doing good. But Japan really needs to look deeper than thinking they are a normal couple... I guess they are now after 14 years, but how they started.. There is the problem.

Only in Japan is where you can go into an adult video store and buy "borderline" child porn magazines and videos.. I say borderline because the children are in bathing suits, a gym clothes and school outfits. However the way they are posing, that's where you can see the difference between calling it a pictures book or pictures video and possible child porn.

Japan loves to do things around loop holes. I bet there is some loop hole in their outdated law about child porn. Probable some wack definition or something. Just look at them going around loop holes in the whaling industry.

I guess Japan thinks it's cool. Kinda sick in my option.

It's good see read good things about Taketomi. My in laws our one of the few people that are actually from that island. They have a house there with a lot of land still. Pretty crazy to think that people still live in those type of houses still, but talking to my father in law, he wouldn't change it for anything.

Japanese people just need to have common sense and not drive cars and bikes with their head up their A#@. I see this all the time. Also Japan need to grow with the times. They still live in a world with old rules and laws. Even if they do something like change some laws.. but you know that won't really happen and if it does... everyone here knows that no one is going to do anything about it. Especially the police. I actually wish there were more accidence involving bikes ... then Japan will (hopefully) would say.. oh wait .. Lets do something about this... BUT wait... Japan tends to get a a group or panel together and study the issue for a few years and then come out with their findings and all the while no change has been done.

I totally agree with life in prison... now here in Japan, it's sad to say but you can kill a person or persons and only get MAX 6 years. I swear nothing better happen to my family while I live here.. A 6 year sentence and a I'm sorry and oh here is some money ...wont help.

What are you talking about when you say "The bases are not there to defend Japan, they are there as a first line of defence for the US. And if it ever did come down to a shooting war with China they would be destroyed on the first day." We are here to protect Japan and of course other US interests (Japan is one of them). Remember when North Korea launched that missile (that didn't really make it to space? The US bases where on high alert as with the Japan military. In mainland japan, the Japanese military used the AMERICAN ANTI_MISSILE SYSTEM to protect Tokyo and other big cities. Oh and the same missile system was tracking the missile that is on Kadena. Oh but wait.... you say they are not here to protect Japan... get your facts straight..

keep a low profile... means don't do anything that might make people mad, upset, change the way they feel about you, when you try and do your job ... I can go on, but pretty much NOT do your job as a leader... of course you will stay in power..... WILL THAT HAPPEN ... heck no. This new PM came into power only with a 68% approval rating... It will take, like all the other PM before this one, ONLY ONE thing that they do wrong and they will be out. Japan is stuck in a world that was around 20 years ago (with they way they run things, most of the government people are hella old and with there outdated laws or lack of common laws) This place will continue to be a country that takes 2 steps forward and 4 steps back... That is unless they change.. but we know that wont happen anytime soon.

I don't think they want all the bases closed, just a few. I know this for a fact that when Futenma closes, so will Camp Lester and Camp Kinser. They are already built a road between Camp Kinser and the ocean. Getting ready for the base to close. SO whenever Okinawa chooses to accept what THEIR government is saying, everyone here on Okinawa will notice a huge difference with the amount of US military presence. Guarantee.... They are some what feeling some change now... a new change came out with new families moving to base housing first and not automatically moving out in town. I say in a few years, a lot of these housing agencies will feel the change when they start to loose money.

Posted in: Can you suggest a workable solution to the Futenma base relocation issue that might satisfy Okinawa, Tokyo and Washington? See in context

you say he US stole the Okinawa's land, do actually know that the owners of the land that the many military base sit on get paid... yearly. I work with a person that's in laws own most of the land that Camp Kinser is on. Trust me the land owners are NOT the ones that are complaining.... the MLCs (Japanese workers on bases) are NOT complaining... I really do believe that if we move away from Okinawa, it will be just like in the Philippians when we closed the base there.... many people lost their jobs, the area around the base turned to crap and the people that were complaining and saying "close the base" where now complaining how it worse it got after the base and people left. Do Okinawa's know about this? I'm not sure they do..

I just had to laugh a little bit on this comment "Most of the current bases on Okinawa do not add a lot to defense". I really do believe that it does boost the defense of Japan greatly. Much more than you believe. We've been here so long on Okinawa, HOW do you know for sure that it doesn't add to defense. All you know (if you live here) is the western influence. It's everywhere. Next time I eat Ice cream I'll think of where it came from. And the next time I drink root beer... Yeah, I'll think of the states also. I think if we left Okinawa or even closed the bases that are scheduled to close when Futenma closes.. such as Camp Lester and Camp Kinser, you may find that a lot of people will loose there jobs and then , just like in the Philippians when the US closed the base there, people started to complain. I understand its a no win situation here on Okinawa. What I don't understand is WHY the government has to ask permission to do something. Of course they will say no... But with the type of crappy government that Japan has, Futenma will stay for a long time. I know it will never happen, but I really do want see how Okinawa will be like if a lot of bases and military leave the island.

Oh my gosh... headlines... a CEO didn't quit because HE didn't do anything wrong. I got a good idea, lets STOP running this government and focus everything we have to make these guys quit,. (they tend to do this) But wait.... It's the Japanese way... no wonder this country is NOT going anywhere.

And Yes I am being sarcastic. I agree what they did was wrong, but like I said this country is NOT going anywhere if everyone QUITS.
