@eastman, Russia will prevail at the end.

mark my words.

Just remember they withdrew from Afghanistan after many years of attrition, and the Ukrainian army is being supported by America and the west, east and Europe.

At first the 530.000 yen seams a lot, but then I calculated it to UK pounds £ 2800 and that's it? Really? If your having to be relocated and you need to buy a house, what are you going to buy with that, a dog kennel? And then you've got to replace the furniture, pots and pans, TV, and everything else in a house, and what price do you put on pictures of the family that was left behind, the amount offered is a damn insult, it's not compensation at all,

If large co don't cough up some extra money in the wage packets, may be it's time for a few strikes, has the government told companies that they must stop assuming that staff will work for two hours for free every day? This will put a few extra yen in people's pay packets, and on another note, does the government ever dish out a wind fall tax in co that make extortionate amount of profit? The UK government did on some of the petro chemical co when they declared record profits,

I am sure Seismologists in Japan and around the world are closely monitoring Fuji San, if it rumbles and disturbs some rocks they will know, so if any think starts to build up, the authorities will be notified, this is when you start to slowly evacuate. But it's better to be prepared than completely unaware.

Ask trade, "Please, lets create some nonsensical controversy to distract from the fact that big cities in Japan has some of the worst pedestrians infrastructure in the modern word" have you ever been to Thailand? The paths are a death trap, a complete obstacle course, the driving standards are appalling, Japan in comparison to Thailand or even England is far better.

Posted in: In buying Toshiba, a little-known fund takes on Japan Inc's toughest job See in context

It sounds like it's not your typical large co, with it's many layers of chain of command, with most large co a large percentage of profit goes to shareholders, and it seams that cos are terrified of them if they don't pay the share holders big dividends they will sell the shares in the co, thus reducing that co image, well good for this co they are buying back shares, if they take over Toshiba and remove the draining financial issues and reinvest, it might encourage new people to come forward with ideas, but at the present time in large co, no one wants to come forward, as it's not the done thing, especially going above the chain of command

I wonder how much investment is planned for this plant? Or is it going to tick along nicely as it is, or is it going to be made to up it's out put, although the Japanese buyout claims it's going to protect workers rights, but is there an agreement that is for a short time, say two years, I've seen this in the past where the buyout co say don't worry your jobs are safe, then things change after the two years, by then the new co knows a lot about the new co, the working practices the workers the not so workers, but after two years these changes go unnoticed in the news paper

I am in Thailand right now, all I can see is a vast swathe of old mopeds, burning oil, vintage busses, would be better of housing chickens, although there are quite a lot of new cars around, but out in the country side there is still those old clanking two stroke engine s pulling some sort of contraption around stacked up with veg, ( with no lights) will any of this cash go to help scrap or replace these carts? And mopeds? Thailand is still struggling with people still burning rubbish everyday and farmers still burn stubble after the sugar cane has been collected, and that brings us into Myanmar they are as bad, not only have you got to change the transport, but you've got to change a ingrained attitude to

I don't know what the answer is to the problem, how can you house thousands of people just like that, it must be a massive burden on the local taxes, is there an incentive for us citizens to open up there houses if they have a spare room?, the UK did ask homeowners if you have a spare room, can you put up a Ukrainian person, family? And the UK responded ( they did)

Living in Japan must be horrendous for ladies, from day one as a school girl they are over sexualised in magazines, manga, etc then they are subject to chican on trains, then as they get older they are subject to more harassment in the work place, and when you think that being groped, or assaulted that you would think that it couldn't get any worse, oh yes it can it goes on in a nursing home, it's really time the Japanese government pushed through the bill for sex offenders register, will it stop sexual assaults? Probably not, but it should cut them down, and these perpetrators get some sort of recompense for there actions.
