Yubaru---yes they must have been ticked off but isn't it true that they have always been ticked off since they were children? I did not know about the new text book thing which always seems to crop up though I wonder how many kids and what age really read this stuff? This whole thing is so childish.

ks852852igie--very cool--no need to apologize--just be yourself man.

South Korea that donated over $50 billion dollars to the Japan relief?

No, it is way below that and probably far below $1B. My estimate would be less than $100M and closer to $20M.

$50B--are you out of your mind? Korea does not even have that much money and the country is on the verge of bankruptcy.

We all know how Chinese acted when the dispute over the islands erupted through that purchase. The Chinese broke into Japanese department stores and trashed all the Japanese products. They are wild barbarian animals. Not all of them are of this class but it just shows and the fact that the government did not do anything to stop them just shows the government is on the same side as the beasts. If you hate someone do you break into their house and steal the tv or demolish things? The truth is that this type of behavior is that of animals. As such what do you expect from China when it comes to a peaceful come together for the tsunami ceremony?

Interesting way to look at this is Korea is like a stalker country and Japan is not really thinking about Korea at all in a good or bad way. Many Koreans were celebrating when Japan had the earthquake so of course they are not going to come. For China it is bigger news since Japan thinks about them more. Just because of this Taiwan issue is so lame and like children. Grow up world. Think about humanity first. Peace and Love.

Clerical mistake--yeh right. I thought about this and figured out that there was definitely no clerical mistake. Well everyone knows that 3/11 is the date and as such there has been one full year to plan ahead for this. Even just a week before or few days before people must have known. If SK wants to really apologize at this point then they could send over $10M and explain how ashamed they are of missing this important time. Of course that will not happen. We all know there are political issues among all sides but this was the time to drop all of that and try to come together and show our humanity.

bicultural --that is the best evidence to date. I have been searching for related info myself and could not find it. It just shows as we already know that Korea is heavily biased towards Japan. We all saw the news of how happy Koreans were about Japan's earthquake that devastated so many lives. Korea needs to work on healing their own wounds by stopping the false propaganda that is taught to the children. In Japan, children are not taught to hate any country including the USA. Korea will not succeed as a country much longer and instead be swallowed up by China in the near future as that is their only partner now.

This test I performed here has shown that people are biased towards comments based on how they feel about someone. On this post I got -8 for just mentioning the below statement which was such a simple statement that should not offend anyone.

smithinjapan -- good facts here. I would like to go over and spend some time in order to get a better sense of what is going on.

This is the same -8 that I got in another article on the apology, which was a very right-winged opinion and delivered to attract the most disent as possible. Agreeably that was worth -8, but the above statement was not worth more than the -2 that Smith got.

What this shows is that supposed Abe makes some statement about Korea then immediately people will have a negative reaction based on their earlier experiences. The problem is that the bias is occurring for a statement based on the person and not what has been said.

That proves that if Korea says something then those who are biased against Korea will automatically reject whatever is said. The same goes for any other country and people who are biased against that country.

So as a lesson, do not judge the people that write here but instead what is being said or else we will never have progress in resolving disputes between Japan, Korea and China.

Wow I got -8 points on my recent submission for the apology. This was actually done as a test to see what the reaction would be to some crazy comments. I do not believe in any of that stuff I wrote since a nuclear Japan is not what we want and will make the whole apology situation much worse.

Abe should kill the former apologies and all of them completely. These apologies have not been recognized and the hatred from Korea keeps on coming as well as from China. Japan has given all they could give and in return Korea white washes all their textbooks and even promotes children to draw pictures in the classroom of Japanese being killed.

The apologies will never be accepted by Korea as this is the only thing keeping Korea united and gives them motivation to try and succeed. The Korean government does not want to loose its control over the people which has taken 60 years to make.

People have said it is Japan's fault that Korea has become like this. No, nobody asked Korea to stay in the past and brood over their wounds. All of the numbers of how many were killed has been exaggerated by Korea and China. Even the Nanjing Massacre was toyed with by the Chinese when they inflated the numbers of how many people lived in the city. During that time the KMT ordered that this city should be turned to ash and all people killed who remained there. The Chinese wanted to make it seem worse than it was.

Since the governments want the situation to seem worse than it was all of the facts are manipulated so that they can get more support from the people. The Koreans and Chinese are being fed a bunch of lies just like North Korea is doing to its people. Japan is also being fed lies and hiding to a certain extent --many of the war time documents on the Nanjing Massacre were destroyed by IJ. We know that Japan did hideous things -- but that was a long long time ago and they have apologized and given enough money. Japan is not asking for apologies from the atomic bombings. Why? Because Japanese are smart to realize that they need to move the economy ahead--well if the relations were better with Korea and China the economy would grow better also--yes I know both sides of views. But what to do when you are dealing with countries that lie to their own citizens and create false propaganda.

As such, Japan is fed up with this nonsense and must move on and that is why Abe has come into power. Korea and China are responsible for putting this right-winger into that position. It actually makes Korea happy since now they have many more years of pushing the anti-Japanese rhetoric and can now say that they were right about Japan's intentions and so forth.
