Posted in: American arrested for assaulting two people on train in Yokosuka See in context

When Americans cause trouble in Japan it reflects badly on those of us from other countries because, in my experience, some Japanese assume every Caucasian they see is an American and we get the dirty looks. Never hear about British, French, German or other Western Europeans or Aussies/Kiwis causing trouble.

Are you joking? The British and Aussies have caused plenty of trouble with their public drunkenness and are known for that behavior around the World.

This cop is a sicko. Hope they jail him for life. What is the problem with many Japanese cops ?

Posted in: Record high number of tourists visit Japan in January See in context

I was in Japan in late January into February for three weeks. I went to Tokyo, Nagoya, Kyoto, Osaka and Sapporo. I noticed an overwhelming amount of tourists from China staying at the hotel I was at in Osaka. Never have I seen so many Chinese tourists in Osaka. Usually mainland Chinese tourists are quite noisy and unruly but the people I saw were well behaved so that is a good thing and good for Japan. Hopefully the numbers will grow and this will help Japan's economy. The yen being lower is very helpful.

Posted in: Japanese tourist says guide in India raped her See in context

It is really unfortunate that women are targeted this way and they should be able to travel peacefully but unfortunately the World is not such a nice place. I tell my Japanese female friends all the time to be careful who they trust. Some people portray themselves one way and then victimize another person when they feel they have earned their trust. One of my Japanese female friends wants to travel to Turkey alone this Summer. I looked at her and asked her why she intends to do something that crazy. India and Middle Eastern Countries are especially dangerous for women traveling alone. The Japanese government needs to inform Japanese women that the World is not Disneyland. Japan is a very safe country so many Japanese women take this for granted and think everything is that way. Movies do not tell what a place is really like. Women everywhere need to educate themselves about the places where they intend to travel and stop trusting strangers.

Posted in: Cross-dressing Matsuko Deluxe: AKB opening Tokyo Olympics 'would embarrass Japan' See in context

I agree with Matsuko. I don't care if she is a crossdresser because she makes plenty of sense. The rest of the World would laugh at Japan if those teen idol groups performed. They should go more traditional. Have any of you ever seen the Pride Fighting shows back in the day. How about Taiko drummers and traditional performance. That would attract people's attention a lot more than idol groups with little and no talent performing. Sorry but those young girls cannot sing at all. They are simply there for young people and creepy old pedophiles. I have never seen a country with such an obsession with young girls.
