Less than a year remain till the US presidential elections and with China's trade dominance crushed Xi Jinpin is desperate to restore business as usual!

Would anyone think for a second that the puppet state of the DPRK is not ordered to assist and indeed die trying to humiliate the Trump presidency?

Expect much bigger missiles from the DPRK in 2020!

And if that mountain can still sustain it expect another undergound H bomb test!

Fail to comply with Beijing's order and the lights go out in Pyongyang, and a new dynasty to pick up the banner of the "glorous revolution of the people of the DPRK".

There is a documentary on the millions of elderly Koreans living on poverty with even their children not visiting them. Isn't it strange then how much Korea "cares" about these 20?

Do you think a woman in her 90's would want to go through lawsuits or rather those that want to incessantly perpetuate hatred for Japan do?

Japan must absolutely ignore this charade! If give in, it opens a floodgate of endless lawsuits and justify the industry is Korean victimhood! NO MORE!!!

Koreans don't seem to care about multides of events of actual mass murder cultural clensing and mass rape of their ancestors as in the 13th century when the Mongols killed most of their men (the ones they couldn't enslave) and raped ALL of their women. They could care less about 3 million dead in their civil war caused by Stalin and Mao ––during which a couple of rapes might have also taken place..

What matters to them is trying to force a pacifist Japan three generations removed from their prostitution in WW2.

Then again there is nothing to gain from present day Mongolia and there is lots to extort from Japan.

Don't even mention what would happen if they as much as opened their mouth complaining to Russia or China!

Google earth shows the new lengthened threshold of runway 34R as well as supporting taxiways are ALREADY built. The farm and the owners house between the extended section and the present runway will need to be paved over. A large section of land lost not to mention a life to start over I hope they get generously compensated.

Posted in: North Korea decries breakdown of talks; U.S. says they were 'good' See in context

Why do people bother to type in comments without any historical understanding?

The DPRK was bought by China from the USSR at the price of 750,000 war dead PLA by 1953 creating an essential puppet state for Mao who even lost one of his sons in this acquisition!

Therefore today the DPRK leadership says a single word that displeases Beijing and the lights go out in Pyongyang. The next day will be a regime change to install a new puppet 100% under control.

If you want to predict what the DPRK will do look at the China politics and voila the DPRK falls into easy to see pattern.

IF the US could lure the DPRK away from the puppeteers in Beijing it would be a diplomatic achievement of gargantuan proportions. President Trump likely not succeed at this but has nothing to lose trying.

As for now, China is trying its hardest to use the DPRK diplomacy as well to embarrass the administration. Expecting much deterioration for the election year.

Just because you don't hear more news it doesn't mean this is not a terrible and indeed endemic problem in Naha and all over Japan!

There is a serious lack of co-opeartion between the military and civilian flying, and it has caused loss of life and will only get worse with the increase of traffic.

The ministers of Defense and Transport MUST MUST hammer out an agreement! It should be based on the principle of War-Peace where in peacetime the right of way GENERALLY should belong to the civilian branch so the country can generate revenue to pay the non-economic military. But in case of war the military must have the right of way for the survival of the nation.

It's only another ploy to extort an endless river of compensation from Japan.

Even a primitive society cannot function where one party endlessly violates previous agreements.

There is nobody alive today who wasn't punished for WW2 wrongdoing. There is nobody alive today who was hurt and would actually receive the enormous settlements they hope to keep milking out of Japan.

It is wrong to transfer wealth from a people 3 generations removed from the history to another nation that's equally three generations removed from victimhood!

It does nothing but perpetuate hatred and conflict.

Korea had better focus on solving their actual problems stemming from PRESENT domination by China and Russia.

Make no mistake about it: Boeing is NOT a Nissan and is feverishly cleaning house. They will be back stronger than ever. This is about the right time to buy their shares as it has only one way to go.

Nor should anyone foolishly think that entrusting their lives on an Airbus machine is inherently safer than a Boeing. If you doubt me just look at something called statistics over the decades. Data cannot lie.

Korea is obsessed to use any reason to try to dictate Japan and this is just another reason.

Their OPINION of militancy regarding the flag does not make it FACT.

If Japan were to give in to the nonsense demands pouring out of Soul it will spread like cancer endlessly till Japan became a vassal state of the ROK.

Japan has apologized over and over and paid for the wrongdoings of the past. There generations past WW2 Korea seroiusly needs to shut up and mind it's own backyard!

I can understand that for diplomatic reasons the official statement is the DPRK is "developing" such systems.

Reality is starkly different:

Fact 1: A nation whose hostage citizens survive on a potato a day develops nothing.

Fact 2: The advanced weapons systems of the DPRK all display fresh paint on top of Made in China, and without whose guidance systems couldn't be aimed more accurately than the outhouse next to the lanuchpad.

What can China do to stop him?

Just in time for the 2020 election year order their puppet state the DPRK to launch missiles to try to humiliate POTUS. Any of the democrats winning the presidency would be far more beneficial for China, especially Biden with his son's China business interests.

This agreement should work both ways to also allow US forces to timely assist Japanese aircraft in distress:

In 1985 when JAL 123 crashed in Gumma the USAF offered to immediately send helicopters from nearby Yokota to start rescue, but was denied by the government. This stupidity caused more unnecessary deaths in this accident.

Later the few survivors reported that many injured were crying troughout the night, but by the time the "proper" Japanese rescures showed up in the morning it was dead quiet...

34 years later they still didn't learn from this debacle.

The only thing done by ANA more idiotic than this purchase was putting RR engines on their 787 fleet.

15 of those machines have been continuously parked in Haneda without engines on and off for the past 7 years. --That's about $4 BILLION US worth of equipment making no money but requires payments on.

Great going!

Nowhere in the world is lack of talent in airline leadership is as horrendous as in Japan:

100% of the international flights between Okinawa and Kyushu -with the exception of Fukuoka, are done by foreign carriers, and have always been so!

The single exception to failure was when the great Chairman Mr. Inamori saved JAL from bankruptcy.

Posted in: Pilot drinking again delays ANA flight despite new rules See in context

For over a hundred years the entire history of aviation drinking has been the traditional way to deal with stress the world over.

Why is it a surprise that many pilots would be drinking in Japan where the industry is made FAR, FAR a more stressful environment than elsewhere?

For example the number one rule of their scheduling is built to MAKE SURE pilots no more than MINIMUM rest. Into this they get the MAXIMUM duty crammed in. This is an easy source of endemic life stress nobody does anything about to fix, and has nothing to do with a particular airline: THEY ALL DO THIS!

For those pilots who need drinking to alleviate stress the new rule provides no solutions only creates more stress.

You can't just hammer rules down pilots throat, you need to reach out to help them with their problems of which they have far more than most people can imagine.

...I should know

Posted in: Lavrov asks why Japan only country in world that can't accept results of World War II See in context

Let me tell you why Mr. Lavrov:

Because Stalin and Tojo signed the Soviet–Japanese Neutrality Pact (日ソ中立条約 Nisso Chūritsu Jōyaku)

in 1941, yet on Aug 8 1945 USSR Foreign Commissar Molotov announced that the Soviet Government declares that from tomorrow, that is from Aug. 9, the Soviet Government will consider itself to be at war with Japan.

Translation: When Japan had already been utterly devastated by the US, therefore the USSR had not expected any serious resistance, Stalin rushed in to grab the islands as well as Manchuria and half the Korean peninsula.

Obviously Russia signs treaties when it suits their interest then disregards them when it no longer suits their interest. See Mr. Lavrov, your country has a credibility problem?
