Posted in: Deadly strikes pound Gaza as Israel PM vows to ramp up pressure See in context

Stalin said one death is a tragedy.

Thousands no one cares.

Same with the Israeli strikes.

It's gotten so many now no one blinks.

But with every strike tens or more get murder led, children, mother's maybe fighters.

Its not creating peace.

I want nothing to do with Israel or Israelis.

Posted in: Nearly half of Japanese in survey plan to spend summer vacation at home See in context

Its is getting tough with this heat.

Ive been to Aokiko in Hakuba camping on and off for the past twenty years but even up there it's pretty hard going during the day time.

Used to manage a week or more. Now after a couple of days you're exhausted.

In my country everyone looks forward to summer, long holidays ,late evenings.

Her and I'm not blaming Japan but no one looks forward to it.Its infernal

And the point about kids homework and clubs is so valid.

Once they start JHS your summer is gone.

Luckily my youngest started university so I'm out of that mess thank god

Whats the opposite of "Rats fleeing the sinking ship "

Stalin would be proud of Trump's ability to get everyone to kowtow to him.

Posted in: 10% of young people in Japan have experienced being groped: survey See in context

It's a really seedy crime.

Have they ever done a study on the age, financial status, of the gropers.

Apart from the cheap thrill why do they do or even feel enabled to do it.

One of my favourite sports.

I lived right beside there when I first came to Japan.

They were old houses.

I was surprised to see so many apartment blocks beside.they used not be there.

It's right close to the ropeway to Matsuyama castle.

Sad to see

I despise Trump but Biden has gotten seriously bad recently.

I definitely wouldn't get in a car driven by him.

It's one cringe after another now

And they'll go after some pensioners for stealing a loaf of bread.

Because rules are rules, just rules aren't rules if you are making the rules.

Dutch fact, things are much improved. Floods, droughts, storms, wildfires and extreme temperatures claim 95% fewer lives today than just a century ago

A Foodland his knowledge are soon parted.

I'm talking about the last 30 years

I've been in Japan over 30 years.

It was never like this.

As for the heat being natural selection, your empathy for your fellow human is interesting to say the least

So Zibala France for the French.

How does that work out in practice.

Would a third generation Algerian quality.

How about Portuguese.

The ex french colonies in Africa.

Are you disqualified if you like couscous?

I suppose Griezmann would be ok as he is white, but Mbappe wouldn't.

Ah the party of Boris the narcissistic liar, Truss the economy destroyer and finally little rich boy Rishi get their comeuppance.

The last few years all they've done is react to scandals, in fight and try and scam as much personal money as they can.

Poor little Richy Rishi.

Going down the tube quickly.

Living in cloud cuckoo land.

Soon to discover his pampered existence doesn't cut the mustard in the real world.

Actually giving Truss a run for the award of worse PM ever.

Sending good thoughts to Laguna.

I feel for you.

In my area there are a lot of small apartments with single older men.

Finished working and finished with their usefulness.

In the past five years at least six or seven have died.

The police get called by the landlord, maybe then a hearse and a cheap cremation.

It's hard to see as you try to say hello when they pass by.

But they are just killing time, no one to speak to, no one cares.

Gone in an instant and never missed.

Really sad in a way

I've worked in a lot of kindergartens and hoikuens in my 30 years in japan.80% of teachers have been wonderful.20% have been stressed out borderline psychopaths who seem to enjoy humiliating children.

Even one present job, one woman is shocking.

I've told her, when I'm in the class teaching, she needs to be elsewhere. She's not allowed in the room. The kids are so scared about getting scolded by her they are afraid to talk.

She's been doing that for over 12 years. Just shocking.

Of course when parents are around and graduation time she's all emotional about how much the children mean to her.

They legally drank a beer.

But because they weren't the legal age in Japan they are being denied a chance at their Olympic dream.

Two girls who were friends of my daughter in university were kicked out for smoking a joint in Spain.

Someone put it on Instagram.

Just in unbelievable how you can get busted for doing something legal.
