Perfect timing for abe as a picture of a little old lad marching through Tokyo carrying a nazi flag is trending on the internet. Abe is definitely only performing PR lip service. Good ol honest abe.

It would be good to list all the tepco/gov assertions that all is well and then where they lied.

The new secrets act, welcome big brother!! We love you. There is already nearly zero press freedom in Japan and this will be even more a blow to it. They will definitely use it to hide the embarrassment of Fukushima and other stuff.

I bet it is only people spending before tepco make us pay and the consumer tax rises. It would be more interesting to see this in a year compared to now then we'd see how truely good abenomics is...

As we wave bye bye to the economy crashing from view...

Probably the only type of situation the prosecutors/police should've forced a confession or framed him!! RIP little boy.

Posted in: British 'drug mule' faces 10 years' jail after acquittal overturned See in context

Oh I can accept if he is handed over but if he was held without charge for 3 years... That's wrong.

The article says 2.5kg of drugs. Hard to believe he didn't know they were there. Although benefit of the doubt and all that.

Posted in: British 'drug mule' faces 10 years' jail after acquittal overturned See in context

Question. Where has this guy been since being found not guilty in 2010? Will he be rearrested in the uk? Or did japan hold a British citizen in an unlawful manner from the time he was found not guilty until now when the prosecutors got the result they wanted?

Not a very advanced system then is it. Hmmm. So tepco is trustworthy and there won't be any danger to the people, right abe kun? Abe+usotsuki=asbesotsuki.

Posted in: Bad weather linked to train suicides in Japan: study See in context

Weather has been known to cause this stupidity for ages. Nothing new. Look at cabin fever, or remote northern communities. How much did they waste on this study, finding a known, documented fact?? Lucky this lot don't have the British weather to endure... They'd be dropping like flies. (But the uk has a relatively low rate which they say is from the outlook on life)

In note to above. Obviously the jumper cared even less about their family so...

Posted in: Hokkaido onsen bars Maori woman over her face tattoos See in context

Sticking plasters? Seriously? To cover up a traditional tattoo that shows the identity of one? You kind of make the point of not understanding and lumping everyone together. Plus if you leaned your culture a bit better you'd know that in recent years yakuza do not get the flamboyant tattoos or cut off their pinky in the hopes of fooling the jcops into believing they're not mafia. (Stupid really cause all you need to do is buy a cop) When people compare me to a gangster I quite happily laugh in their face and ask them why they've never bothered to remove their blinkers... It is very simple to tell a professor from a member of ms13, the look of intelligence for one thing is a give away. A Russian mafia? Well could be... Ill conced that point. Now get off your high horse and realise that to a Maori the moko is part of their birth right and something to wear with pride. To have a tattoo is a personal choice and if you don't want them on your body don't get but do not discriminate because your too stupid to learn another's culture.

Posted in: 4-month-old baby found dead in apartment in Osaka See in context

A bigger possibility is the 4yr old fell/stepped on the baby. Kids shouldn't be left home but I bet she had just got them to sleep, needed some shopping and thought itd be ok cause they're asleep. A stupid decision is what the mother is probably guilty of.

It's like pasmo or suica... Commonly called an Oyster card. Jdebit cards=switch. The details vary but same basic idea so just an adaption on the theme. Guess its innovative in Japan though where the gaijin world is just a strange fairy tale mythical place.

Ummm. Hate to say this but that's not innovative. London tubes have had that button (on the inside) for decades. I guess it's innovative in Japan though.

Maybe no link... But an opportunity seems to have been taken. There needs to be a lot more done to promote that green life image that Tokyo wants. More bike parking and better infrastructure.

Spoken like a true motorist. There's not enough parking provided, just many stupid rules made. Tokyos chance to promote greener healthier lifestyle is about to disappear in a puff of smoke.

Posted in: Thyroid cancer risk for 2,000 Fukushima workers: TEPCO See in context

I see the gov supported deniers are out already. There's many unsubstantiated reports of thyroid cancer already appearing in Fukushima kids but its being denied or statistics are thrown around. Reports buried or such. Give it a few years and the proof will be irrefutable. The residents should've been evacuated because even one death is too many, and those calling for "sources" and "proof" I hope you feel remorse when even one kid dies from thyroid cancer because they could've been given a fighting chance by being evacuated. Why defend the gov and tepco when almost every week a new scandal or problem pops up. The stupidity astounds me that I will be called a scaremonger for caring and daring to ask questions. If there's no danger why is it not being proven? Prove it,show transparency. Give the people a reason to believe.

Posted in: Ehime enacts law instructing cyclists to wear a helmet See in context

It's a good idea but before this there needs to be serious education of all cyclists and drivers. Number one the difference between left and right!! It's shocking how many apparently educated individuals don't know left from right. Ketai usage!! Cars, bikes and trucks!! Umbrellas!! Japan is honestly too humid for a helmet too so there needs to be water made available to all cyclists. in 30yrs of cycling and 12yrs in Tokyo I have only worn a helmet for offload.

Yes. A poster would help.
