For everyone's information, the primary students are prohibited to use the disposable mask and also borrowing other's mask. The BOE asks the kids to use the washable type of mask. It's not schools responsibility to provide disposable mask. Usually if the kids forgot something they need to be used at school on that day their mom goes to the school and bring it for them. As I observed at schools, kids nowadays tends to often forget in bringing their mask. I only have one school that they lend disposable mask to the kids and its not for free. The next day the kid/s should replace the disposable mask they used the previous. The school take down the kid/s name who often forgot their mask. Forgetting to bring a mask once or once in a blue moon could be considerable but straight 4 days in a row?? Uhm!! The kid hasn't paying attention at all to the teacher, because of course, the teacher for sure reminded the kid several times. Or even to the extent the let kid wrote it down on his/her homework notebook. Talking about responsibility, the kid's parents were then irresponsible so with their child. The apology letter serves them right.

Posted in: Filipino woman to be charged for allowing 3-year-old daughter to starve to death See in context

I have followed this news when it broke out. I even asked my Japanese friends about the issue 'coz the English version is very incomplete regarding details. According to my friends months ago, in the TV news, the 3 year old child maybe or maybe not died in to her sister's care. The sister sought help to her uncle. Her uncle took care of her younger sister when she was out for a school activity. She found her sister in their apartment when she arrived home as if like was just sleeping so she didn't bother at all. The sad thing is the 3 year old child was not found sleeping in their room but between the bathroom and kitchen. So could be the uncle was also held responsible about it. I'm just sharing the Japanese version of this story.

The woman could have been his daughter considering their age gap. What could be the reason/s then? Love quarrel?

Posted in: 16 tips for raising a bilingual child in Japan See in context

Maybe some will agree or some may not but For me Japanese are good at grammar when it comes to writing. The only defective to them is their speaking abilities for all their lives they've dedicated in learning grammar through writing and listening. On contrary, In my opinion Japan can never speak perfect English with the accent unless the Katakana Eigo will be totally forgotten. They are still dependent on Katakana English when it comes to reading.

Posted in: Outrage grows over Shiga school's inaction over bullying See in context

Most likely teachers wouldn't believe to the bullied students whenever they confide to their teachers. My friend from Osaka said he was bullied all his student life except university. To the extent he experienced leg and hand fracture due to it yet the school nor the tearcher didn't do any actions to reprimand the bullies.

Teachers and principal are afraid to suspend or expel the bullies at school. I asked many times to them but all their answers are same, bully couldn't be stopped and suspension and expulsion at school wouldn't help the bullies 'coz we're ruining their future. To add more, they're basically afraid to the parents.
