Everybody wants the gold medal, but it is only one.

Therefore everyone make great effort.

Tomiaki Fukuda, head of Japan's Olympic delegation, criticized baseball team(and football team) yesterday. He said it was difficult to win the games with a little practice and lack of preparation, as referring to baseball team.

I agree with him. It is not the preparations that appear on TV for chatter and run for torch relay.

Hoshino's big mouth said "We need no medal but gold". Yeah, he has performed what he said.

This shrine doesn't enshrine the soldiers of shogunate who fought for Japan in Boshin civil war. It is nonsense.

If a country wants to hold great ceremony it should be fascism or communism regime.

TRUTHx, you are right. Tokyo should not hold Olympic in 2016.

Problem of temporary employment system is not only cause of social illness but also cause of declining of industry. It is difficult to teach know-how of manufacture to young factory workers under temporary employment system. In near future Japan's superiority of industry will collapse.

Posted in: Do you consider the word "gaijin" racist? See in context

The word gaikujin was made by the government of Meiji era instead of nanbanjin in 19th century. The word nanbanjin contains meaning of barbarian. So, foreign ambassadors protested, and then Japanese government made the new word gaikokujin for formal word. This is the history of the word.

And, please note. This country had been closed to foreigners until 19th century. And, even in 20th century, 1945 is the first year that most of rural Japanese had seen foreigners.

First, I apologize to you as the Japanese. Second, I agree with Lamarr's opinion. Atmosphere of society of Japan is getting stiff and cold day by day. Everyone including me are irritable about something. Some people say that has been caused by the policy of former prime minister Koizumi. Koizumi and Mitarai who is leader of business circle had broken warm society of Japan. (Mitarai is also president of Canon). I expect government of LDP will break down.
