This cute little blue budgie was on TV last night. It's nice to see a good news story like this - feels like it has been a while!

Wow - A lot of your reactions are shocking. I will say it again.

SHE IS 13. PROSTITUTION AT 13 IS ILLEGAL. SHE IS 13. THIS MAN KNEW AND WAS HER PIMP. SHE IS 13. SHEIS13!!

I don't understand how some of you can think this is okay and it as her fault.

Doesn't matter if she 'looks' 20. SHE IS 13. Illegal and of story.

Latest News is saying that the little girl is okay and is expected to make a full recovery.

There are no suspicious circumstances in the mother's death.

Posted in: What are some of the weirdest examples of English used in ads or on T-shirts, bags, etc, that you have seen in Japan? See in context

Just last week I saw a vest in a shop with loads of patches on it.

Patches said: BIONIC COCK, INSPECTOR OF ASSES, 69, I CHOKED - LINDA LOVELACE, IM A VIRGIN- THIS IS A VERY OLD PATCH, MAKE LOVE NOT BABIES, STOLEN FROM MABEL'S WHORE HOUSE, I GET IT REGULAR, LOVE THY NEIGHBOR REGULARLY, SEX APPEAL-GIVE GENEROUSLY. and more... (( I took photos! ))

May I say that it was in an outlet shop and they had about 5 in the store so I was happy that it looked like it wasnt the shops most popular item! I almost bought it for a laugh but at 11,000 yen, I didn't! I think the shop was Beams!!

Cletus - well said!

The triads have been involved in organised crime in Aust for a long time, just as the Italian Mafia and any other organised crime group in the world.

Some of you really shouldn't post comments.

@ skeptical hippo - Your words weren't so clear in all your posts. I see that we are on the same understanding now though...

Actually, the legal definition of mukichoueki is life imprisonment with work

and I have read your other comments...

@ skeptical hippo

Actually, indefinite means the term of imprisonment hasn't been given therefore parole is possible. It is not necessarily for life.

Lizz - My understanding is that Mukichoueki is 'for and indefinite period' and Shuushunkei is for the rest of your natural life ( with no parole). I am no expert though.

and that is also the reason he has been given this sentence.

I think it is only because of pressure from the Hawker family on coming to Japan so many times and fronting the media and appealing to the public that has kept this case alive and finally leading to Ichihashi's arrest.

I have a hard time believing he will get out in 10 years. He tried so hard to avoid detection and ran from the authorities for so long that it was such and embarrassment to Japan and I just can't see them doing anything else to let them be subject to critisism in this case - in Japan and around the world.

Posted in: What do you like to shop for online and what do you still go to stores to buy? See in context

I buy alot of my clothes on ebay or western websites. Jackets, dresses, skirts, jeans, underwear, etc. The main reason is the size. My husband doesn't fit into the 3 sizes they have here either, so his clothes come from overseas too ( he is Japanese but they don't fit ). I never buy shoes online, we get them when I am home. I buy all my food locally. I have an amazing local arcade with great fresh produce.

Aya Ueto dated Go Morita until recently. They broke up and the rumours started about these too. I don't see a problem. They are both adults. Good luck to them xx

Posted in: Ice dance See in context

The thing with the last names thing if you take japanese nationality is, you dont need to pick a japanese name, you just need to write your name in japanese. ARUDO DEBITO is the perfect example. So these 2 might have chosen kanji to match their last name and stuck with a katakana first name.

So many posters on here claim discrimination or assumptions to foreigners at any chance, yet cant get their heads this...
