This should be the new super coolbiz fashion for young female office workers.

Posted in: Policeman hit by car in Osaka See in context

I see two mistakes on the part of the officer. One, he never wrote down the license plate number (and now has to rely on such a vague description of the car as it being "silver"). Two, he shouldn't have been standing in front of the car when ordering the men out of the car.

I had never heard of the expression "in stir" before, but sure enough it's in the dictionary. Probably commonly used in the 1800s.

I wonder what happens if an inmate has a wet dream? It's not directly under their control.

Hey, the charities only accept new clothes, don't they? Specifically to stop people donating worn, tattered clothing. As usual the weeklies are not to be trusted.

If someone wants to top themself, then why not an alcohol overdose? A liter of vodka should do it for a regular non-drinker. First coma and then death, nice and easy (and a lot cheaper for everyone).

I wouldn't be surprised if this reverend is attacked by irate muslims in the near future.

They should've air-dropped packages of food/supplies a week ago. Too bad it's against the law in Japan.

Lots of people saying insensitive things, for example those tweeting that the tsunami is some kind of retribution for Pearl Harbor or Paul Watson's "poem".

This is not a nice job to have. There are reports of rescue workers having to amputate limbs to free trapped people. I hope these valiant people aren't too distraught over what they will see.

Sony made a wise choice to stay clear of a 3D display - apparently the Nintendo 3DS is quite good at giving you a headache in 3D mode.

Posted in: Japanese whalers, activists clash off Antarctica See in context

Shooting water cannons is not that big a deal. Will every little piece of action by both sides end up in the news? In other news: "Sea Shepherd launched their helicopter", "Japanese whalers use their anti-piracy sound pulse device", "Sea Shepherd activists throw paint bombs at the Shonan Maru hull"

I wonder if this one will make it to Japanese cinemas. Will cinemas receive threats from ultra-nationalists not to show it like what happened with The Cove?

Of course the next step is a body cavity search, care of a gloved and lubricated finger that gets inserted to quickly check for any internally-inserted parts used for terrorism. They'll also do a quick prostate check for the guys.
