I can not recall any other articles nor news reports that have stated that any Nissan officials were found guilty of any crimes prior to this here. A plea bargain is an admission of guilt, so what did they do to be investigated in the first place, and it also could be read that they were providing information that may not be reliable too.

Japanese style plea bargain introduced in 2018 is different from the US and it is deceptive. It is more like informing someone else’s crime to spare one’s own than admission of one’s own guilt to reduce the charge. Lawyers were very critical to it as it carries a risk of false accusation in the defective medieval justice system of Japan. It is what we see in the case of Carlos Ghosn, and that is the one the prosecutors and the government are the most defending by scapegoating Ghosn .

Who will clean up all these mess after all? It should not be Carlos Ghosn alone. For fair trial, Ghosn's lawyer is asking for trial separate from Nissan's and Kelly's. Enough fabricated stories. Fact first, stories later, please. To me it all seems a matter of interpretation. Update Japanese Justice System. Plea bargain does not work in defective medieval justice system.

In terms of gift exchange, culture of business must be different in Middle East. For that Ghosn has lots to say but he is muted and judged guilty even before the trial. Corporate culture and its governance should be heard at the court if that is a fair trial. This looks like a weird French version of Apocalypse Now in which Ghosn was initially admired as kami but now beheaded and cannibalized!

The UN Human Rights Committee has advised Japan several times to reform its criminal justice system by allowing bail before trials and for lawyers to be present during questioning. A UN committee against torture called Japan's criminal justice system “medieval” in 2013; Amnesty reports frequent use of torture and torturing devices in prison. Recording interrogations with video starts from this June but only 2-3 % of the hole. Japanese style plea bargain introduced in 2018 under Abe’s regime is worse than a bad joke in medieval justice system. It is certainly a country risk for non-Japanese working in Japan.

Search internet in Japanese, you will find blogs and webs of those who were arrested and detained in jail like Ghosn. They were innocent but forced to confess guilty for a false accusation: a radio newscaster, a university teacher, an office worker, a commuter, even a traveler from abroad. Japanese prison is packed fully with elders, foreigners who cannot communicate in Japanese, and mentally disabled people. They should not be in prison. Theirs should be care facilities, educational or medical institutions, or deportation. Search internet, asylum seekers are put in more horrible conditions.

The government of this aging society is a hospice of filthy elders still using the age old medieval system to highly complex society of the 21stcentury,  unable to change the Galapagos island until finally they become a black hole. That is a country risk!

Due to bad education and ignorant media, many of them don’t even know what racism is.
