The film actually wasn't that bad, surprisingly. I agree, I think Cruise is a sincerely nice guy... the only complaint I have about the guy is the whole scientology thing.

Moderator: Tom Cruise's religion is not relevant to this discussion.

Reading this all I could think of was that Seinfield episode where Kramer had the idea of a bra for overwirght men, except he called it a "Bro."

And so ends the worst presidency in American history. Bush's reign... I mean war of terror is over!!!

Actually a Japanese friend of mine asked me: How do Americans go from reelecting Bush four years ago to electing Obama?

I'm at a loss of words, I thought I had lost complete faith in the American public, maybe the majority of Americans aren't uneducated redneck hicks?

As one pundit on CNN said when asked what it took for Americans to elect a black man as president of the USA: "160 years, three quarters of a billion dollars and a brilliant man who was able to cross racial lines."

When you look at all the other musical crap that's turned out in Japan, SMAP almost seems bearable.

Even Utada Hikaru couldn't break into the American market and her English is perfect, she was born in New York for godsake - albeit, the album was horrible.

I guess if BoA can sing in something that's not Engrish and she has some catchy songs, it's possible she could find success. I mean look at all the crap they turn out in the states that finds popularity! It's all about marketing.

The Koreans always need a scapegoat and if its not the United States, then its Japan.

At least they seem to have forgotten about the US beef...

The Korean government is probably doing this so they can shift public anger from the president and the US beef fiasco over to Japan.

Posted in: Woman arrested after trying to flush infant down toilet in Nagoya See in context

Numerous times a week we here about some woman killing her child in some sick way.

When was the last time anyone heard of a Japanese guy killing his kid and flushing the body down the toilet? True, it does happen occasionly - a guy killing his kids - but nothing like the rate of Japanese women who kill their kids. You could argue that Japanese usually don't kill their kids because they spend most of their time at the office, away from their family...

...But I always see Japanese guys on the train taking their kids to play baseball or something and just hanging out with their kids and actually talking to them. I rarely see Japanese women spending time with their kids like that; most of the time the women look like they wanna kill themselves.

This country needs serious help.
