Ukraine cannot defeat Russia

This isn't true. The Russian military has proven itself a joke that can't stand up to actual militaries. They're getting hammered on the regular.

so what is the point of continuing the conflict?

I don't know, to keep their land from being stolen from them? What's the point in that, right?

America repudiates its own history in opposing people who desire "independence'

lol America's flawed history doesn't justify modern day Russia's imperialism

from a corrupt and murderous government. And, since 2014, that corrupt government has been murdering the people of Donetsk and Luhansk who seek that independence.

Ah yes, so let's join an even more corrupt country. Genius.

See? This is exactly what I’m talking about, the left never listens, I keep talking about.

No, you said clearly said the US shouldn't waste money by giving it to Ukraine:

Besides sending more USD that we don’t have and need for our nation what is Biden going to do to stop this?

No one is said anything about MIGs until you brought it up, and yeah, it would be absurd to expect the US to provide MIGs we don't have.

What we do have to prevent the annexation of Ukrainian territory is money for weapons. Should we be supplying Ukraine with weapons and money to defend their territory?

Yes, at the time they didn’t want blankets.

And now they want weapons, but you don't want to give them weapons. Right?

He claimed Russia won’t take Ukraine, so now that it backfired

Lol Russia has taken Ukraine only in the minds of Putin and his lackeys. Russia doesn't even control the entirety of the oblasts they claim voted to annex.

and more USD taxpayer funded wasted, now what?

The US spends hundreds of billions on the military every year, and to protect the US from whom? Russia? China? Spending money to help an ally defend itself is A) the morally correct thing, and B) absolutely will not break the bank. We can afford to help, and so we should.

then what does this say? what does bringing an end to the Nord Stream 2 mean then?

I don't know and I don't care. The right has a bad habit of editing and taking quotes out of context. Unless you have video footage of US operatives blowing the pipeline up, I don't believe it was the US.

It could have been Russia, or just about any country.

What would the US gain from blowing up the pipeline? Not much.

you saw the video of him saying he was going to do it, right?

Lol define what "it" is, because I certainly haven't seen a video where Biden said he's going to blow up a pipeline.

Nuland is famous for directly meddling in Ukraine politics while representing the United States. She got caught on tape back in 2014

I'm sorry, what does that have to do with Nord 2? Was she mentioned in the article? If only the right were this upset about Russia meddling in Ukrainian affairs.

|Because you say so?

No because the rightwing media took a clip out of context. The tape didn't actually say what the right claimed it did.

why wouldnt you believe them?

Because the same people pushing this line are the same people who took a 30 second clip out of a 90 minute talk out of context and claimed it showed Biden bragging about blackmailing Ukraine into dropping an investigation into Hunter Biden. None of that happened, it's nonsense.

You no! Trump's authoritarian palls don't want to hang out anymore. My feelings are hurt.

the Mullah’s

Gee, you think that has something to do with Trump tearing up an agreement he had no clue about?

add to that the absolute pummeling the guy and his party are getting in the polls.

The pummeling? lol You make it seem as if polls don't favor the party that isn't in the whitehouse on midterm elections. Of course, Democrats are the underdog here, but it's not as bleak as you claim, and in recent weeks the polls have been swinging towards, not away from Demcrats.

At least Kim met with Trump, he will never sit in the same room with that woman.

And the world will be no worse for it.

When Kim met with Trump, at least there was a possibility of making some real progress towards peace.

Good on you for admitting that meeting with Kim was a gamble that legitimized his dictatorship and realized no demonstrable results.

All that's dust in the wind now with the current peeps.

Ah yes, the rightists you champion certainly are pacifists. lol Thanks for the laughs.

Really? I didn't know that. I saw the FBI among other secret police agencies was facilitating the bogus counting and/or the bogus ballots being delivered.

lol No, of course not. Of course none of that happened. Claiming the sham elections in Russian occupied territories are somehow more legitimate than the 2020 US elections is laughably absurd.

Biden: "I promise you, we will be able to do that."*

Well this proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that Biden did it. I bet he went down there in a submarine and did it himself. Hey, does this come from the same people, who took a 30 clip of an hour-long talk and used it to "prove" Biden was blackmailing Ukraine on behalf of his son? What nonsense.

Biden is on the record as voicing objections to the pipelines and stating action would be taken against them.

Yeah, or the Putin regime was aware of this and is using to creature division between Europe and the US, exactly like they did with Ukraine and Poland.

Why would Russian speaking Ukrainians, in areas bordering Russia NOT want to join with Russia to ensure they are protected from further conflict and violence?

And then why wouldn't Ukrainians in Russia want to be part of Ukraine? Using your logic, they should hold a referendum a parts of Russia could breakaway and join Ukraine. This is just a really bad idea, it would cause an immeasurable amount of instability.

Of course they would and they are going to.

lol I'm sure putting guns to the heads of voters in the occupied territories will ensure free and fair elections, right?

Ah yes, the US blowing up the pipelines supplying gas for much Europe would certainly bode well for US-European relations.

You know who blows up their own property/citizens to manufacture consent? Russia.

.and all of this could be avoided if EU NATO and so called western democracies will treat Russia as equal partner-but did not happen/I talk about time 2014 -2021 especially end of 2021 when many russian requests for discussion about Ukraine and whole situation were largely ignored by them/.

Nope. All of this could have been avoided if Russia didn't launch an imperialist invasion of Ukraine.

The world shouldn't have to hold it's nose and pretend an authoritarian country like Russia is it's equal, just so Russian leaders don't get their feelings hurt.

So 80% of Russians still support the defense of the country.

Uhh, you left out the last paragraph.

The latter constitutes “a reservoir of doubt and discontent,” Kolesnikov told AP. “It is already clear that the mobilization is not partial, and if this becomes more and more obvious, then the mood may begin to change. Putin is taking a big risk.”

People support the war now, but think about how that sentiment will change as men, husbands, sons, and fathers, come home in body bags. And for what? a kleptocrat who never served a day in his life?

Posted in: Russia's call-up splits EU; Ukraine says it shows weakness See in context

I wounder why Ukraine doing it is building their forces wasn't a sign of weakness but Russia doing it a sign of weakness as so many are saying.

Well let's see, Russia, a nation of 140 million had failed to take over Ukraine, a country of only 40,000,000.

Russia was too cowardly to declare war on Ukraine, so they called it a "special operation" instead. They expected the conflict to be over with within a few weeks. Clearly that didn't happen now, and clearly they've lost a lot of troops and equipment, so clearly then mobilizing troops for a "special operation" is an admission of weakness, of failure to achieve their goals.

Also, it was Russia that chose to do the invading too, so there's that as well.

This means that once in place Russia will have 4 times the present front line fighting force.

Yes, poorly equipped, poorly disciplined, and poorly motivated troops. Cannon fodder.

Now think 300,000 more in Russia's army with winter fast approaching and 90% chance Russia will cut the power from the electrical stations it controls and cut off gas.

Whatever harm is caused by power disruption in Ukraine will undoubtedly be even worse for the Russian invaders. Invading forces fare even worse in winter months. They'll be sitting ducks for himars.

Russophobe propaganda.

So, ignore our highly public attempts to encourage separatists to declare independence because domestic politics is what is motivating it. We promise to deny the legitimacy of such a declaration by the government of Taipei the same way we're denying the legitimacy of similar declarations by the governments of Donetsk etc.

lol No. Taiwan and Donetsk are incomparable. Taiwan has insisted on it's independence since the ROC fled to Taiwan. Also, Donetsk isn't trying to "declare independence." No, they, or Russian backed groups, want to rejoin Russia. Russia in turn, of course, fanned tensions in eastern Ukraine as the pretext to annex large swaths of Ukraine. So no, not the same. Not even remotely comparable.

reality is that parts of recent UA will be part of Russia in next few weeks and UA will be never back in its borders from say 1992....regardless of what USA EU or say western democracies will think about.

lol No it won't. Even if Russia attempts to administer the lands they stole from Ukraine, Ukraine will never allow it. Russian thieves in Ukraine should get used to stochastic violence, because that's exactly what will happen. Putin bit off more than he can chew and now his whole country will pay the price.

I do, which is precisely why I oppose Russia sponsoring shame elections to legitimize their imperialist invasion.
