Another reason why I love living in Japan. No crazy gun trotting lunatic gets to kill so many. Keep your freedom to your yourself in the States. We love it here. At least here, the worst will be a knife. Can't maim that many

Thunderbird2, Modern wars are not fought with numbers. So don't believe so much in the numbers of weapons China display. Japans military is one of the most technologically advanced in the world. They just don7t talk as loud as China

And the questions you the protesters refuse to hear are quoted once again;

Looking at Senkaku, South China Sea, North Korea, is Japan safer now than before? Does doing nothing and just screaming 'Peace' makes all these aggressive neighbors fold up and vanish? What should Japan do if an ally's vessel comes under attack near Japan? look on unconcerned because its not a J vessel? By hating the US military this much, why do you wanna clink on to a US - imposed constitution so much? Do you expect allies to help when Japan's interest here or abroad comes under attack?

No, its the next generation who will enjoy the safety of this selfless act of Abe. And the questions you the protesters refuse to hear are quoted once again;

Do you expect allied like US, Australia to help if and when Japan comes under attack? Do you expect allies to help when Japan's interest here or abroad comes under attack?

If any one could answer these, then I will post the next question. For now, these are enough.

Sangetsu03, Your comment is interesting (Japan is in the unique position in that America is required to defend Japan from military attack) Why should The US protect Japan when Japan will watch unconcerned when an American ship is attacked near Japan? This is where those shouting 'Peace' dont get it. Peace isn't free. And don't expect that because you say 'peace', irresponsible nations will not threaten you. Look at what common Chinese fishing boats do to the J coast guards.

Ask these protesters why people put stickers of ALSOK and the likes at their homes and offices. Anyone who can answer that wouldn't be doing this needless protest.

Why do they expect others to protect Japan and they don't want to care for others. Protection is a shared responsibility. They should understand that in order to peace, war is sometimes necessary.

Posted in: Ruling, opposition parties deadlocked over proposed security bill See in context

You guys think just shouting 'peace' means every other potential aggressor will go away. Look at what is happening at tge south china sea. You are not dealing with a rational partner. They dont give a sh*t about international order. Thats why a deterrent is needed. You only wanna leave your protection to the goodwill(if they ever had one in the first place) of a threatening neighbor. We put ALSOK sign at our homes etc for for a purpose

What will these protesters say when china finally comes for senkaku and Okinawa. Crying "no war" is cool and sexy but they should look at the reality. No country can defend itself alone. Seriously what is needed now is for NK to throw us some candy down here. Then the protesters will realize their stupidity.

Chinese commentators out here, pls clarify these two for me:

Does the apology has to be made continuously? Doesn't one apology hold enough water? Why does it have to be made everyday? Doesn't that render the previous ones useless? When did Abe, or any Japanese cabinet make any resolution to cancel the previous ones? and maybe one last question, draft your ideal apology note here and I will have Abe read and act it verbatim. Yours, A person close to Abe

Posted in: Merkel, Abe discuss Ukraine See in context

See the double standard here. You can visit China seven times more than Japan but you can't tell the Chinese to join in your pursuit of sanctions again Putin. You can easily tell Japan to sanction Putin though. Because you are afraid to tell the truth to China because of they won't buy your cars. I wish Japan can choose what is best for it instead of following this double standard message. I don't dispute Ukraine but all must be called to play a part in building a better world. Not give China the easier pass.

bass and friends, why didn't you implement travel ban on at least China during the SARS period? Lets look at whose side science is. Not short term political gains and deep hatred which you guys wanna spread to every single issue. Remember H1N1 killed more than 12,000 Americans and yet still, there was no ban on anyone

In an earlier post on a similar thread, I asked Bass if the world should quarantine the US because Texas has it and the moderator quickly deleted it. Yes, I'm still asking. Are we to quarantine US? or Texas? Bass and friends from Fox want to quarantine a whole region made up about 20 countries where only 5 confirmed the virus but think in Texas, only the hospital and its surroundings should be quarantined. Lets keep divisive politics out of this and find professional approach. Quarantine W/Africa and they will pass through Europe or other regions to reach US. Or are you gonna stop anyone with W. African passport from coming in?
