why would non Japanese be encouraging Japan to antagonize Trump and go to the back of the line where the deal gets worse?
Because a good many of those who keep telling Japan to do this and keep whining about Trump here daily either don't care much about Japan and what happens to it, hence encouraging it to go against 47 and hurt it's economic interests or don't even live here at all and are just posting from the US. In some cases , both of these apply. That simple.

That is just another word for defeat everyone knows that. It is unfortunate but there is no need to pretend it is otherwise...........Except that a withdrawal means that your forces leave intact. Russia have been eager to sell it as a rout, which it wasn't.
But Ukraine forces did not leave Kursk intact. Unfortunate but they suffered huge losses and were defeated, pretending otherwise is not helpful.
True, Russians have not taken Pokrovsk, but they continue seizing other villages along the frontline and advancing............At a snail's pace and losing many troops in the process.
Sure, but as many here said that Putin does not care for loosing troops and Ukraine is loosing many troops in the process too. Their manpower pool is a lot smaller than Russia.
Having to send troops to Europe to fight a war is to the detriment of US national security,
Why, there is no public support or reason for US sending troops to fight in Europe. This conflict will end at a negotiation table.

It didn't end in failure, it ended in a strategic withdrawal.

No. They don't. What is happening to Pokrovsk? Supposedly about to fall in August 2024. Russian troops have been stalled outside Pokrovsk for 8 months.
True, Russians have not taken Pokrovsk, but they continue seizing other villages along the frontline and advancing.
This conflict needs to end at a negotiating table soon, the terrible loss of life can not continue.
Sure, but Putin doesn't want peace, so unless he is pressured, this war will keep going.
Good that after meeting Zelensky in Rome Trump is pivoting towards more sanctions pressure on Moscow then, isnt it.

One take: A flurry of polls in recent days from NBC, CNN, New York Times/Siena, ABC News and Fox News, among others, each reveal the same theme: Voters perceive Trump to be falling short on his core campaign promise to strengthen the economy. The president’s helter-skelter rollout of tariffs in early April sent global markets into shock.
There is no doubt about that. Who knows what the next 100 days will be like.

Trump in the honeymoon period. Sounds like he couldn’t get it up and soiled the bed on his honeymoon.
One of the classiest comments to date . Keep that kind of language up, it seems to align well with the recent JT standards.
Everyone is free to feel as they like about Trump but posts like "not getting it up and soiling his bed" are below gutter level. Call me old fashioned.

There was an article on JT yesterday about Russia retaking Kursk from Ukraine. Was the article not accurate?
I'm pretty sure that Kursk is part of Russia, not Ukraine...
I'm pretty sure that Kursk operation was part of the Ukraine war, wasn't it? It was celebrated by the Kyiv side as its most successful operation but unfortunately it has ended in failure and tens of thousands of Ukrainian casualties. Sadly, most of their best soldiers from their elite units were lost in that operation. Russia continues to take Ukrainian villages and towns along the contact line weekly if not daily. Ukraine's biggest problem is running out of manpower. This conflict needs to end at a negotiating table soon, the terrible loss of life can not continue.

Nothing wrong with having to prove you are a citizen in order to vote in the US election. It is common sense. If we don't prove we are citizens in Japan we can't vote either. Russian national security has never been at stake. That is the height of Kremlin propaganda. US and European national security is at stake.
Proposing that Ukraine which is on Russia's door step is not relevant to their national security while at the same time saying it is relevant to the national security of the US which is thousands of miles away is the height of gaslighting.

A larger volume of imports, however, could depress rice prices and hurt producers' incomes.
What tripe, how about the hurt of Japanese consumers being taken for a ride by the rice hoarding speculators? Why are all Japanese consumers asked to suffer for the rice farmers and JA cartel? Govt may as well temporarily increase the farmers subsidies ( to keep inaka loyal to LDP which is what it was always about ) and allow substantially more imports in to wash out the price speculators.
