Posted in: Images of women vandalized as Kabul faces up to Taliban rule See in context
Why do we get very sensitive when it comes to Taliban? Just because our understanding of Taliban is what we have heard or read in western media. How many of us knew about Afganistan or Taliban before 2000? How is Taliban any different than the rulers of Saudi Arabia? Just because Saudi Arabia is an ally (and more importantly has oil - wink), we don't hear much about their laws. Believe me once SA stops being US ally, we will hear new stories about them and US will not waste a single day to help saudi people (wink wink).

I'm surprised that in Japan there was no news of El Salvador granting "legal tender" status to Bitcoin whereas a tweet from Elon Musk is given so much importance. Seems like the news media want to keep people ignorant about bitcoin.

Well then, good luck to you!

If I found anything above 10,000 yens, I would hand it in. Anything less than that, I would just drink it up!

this lady was acting crazy and the cop was just doing his duty, she died and it was an accident. weight doesn't matter as he was not there to suffocate her. of course he is professionally negligent and should be reprimanded and given more proper training but he is guilty of manslaughter and should remorse for life, no I dont think so!

I always let the staff know that I prefer edamame as otoshi. Good for the price and goes well with the beer. And no problem getting it in 99% of the cases!

Posted in: Japan ex-China envoy: Tokyo erred in buying islands See in context
Instead of buying the islands in a fear that they do not go in the hands of Ishihara, J-Gov should have amend the laws so that nobody can buy or sell these islands. I mean if they can make it illegal to step on these islands without their permission, they could have easily made the changes in laws to make sale or purchase without permission illegal. But then common sense is not very common these days.
