Fortunately the new cases are slowing down in Africa. But as long as there are any cases there is risk of spread. Not as easy as the flu to catch, but still something to be careful about.

Now the one thing we can expect if any cases show up in China, the Chinese government will deny any need for aid no after how bad it gets.

That being the case, I doubt we can do anything about it. Meanwhile there is plenty of work left to do in Africa.

Posted in: Colossal volcanic eruption could destroy Japan: study See in context

There can be cycles of increased activity, just as there can be cycles of increased earthquake activity or periods of climate instability. All of the could have serious affects for many people . Same is true for many things. But in the end there is not much you can do about it nor the government nor anyone else. Everything that you have including life itself is at best temporary. That being the case, pay attention to all that you have, be it people or things, appreciate them, with people let the know how much they mean to you, and enjoy them fully. Live intensely and well. Seems better than sitting around worry about something that you can do nothing about.

One of the selling points about Cloud was it was a safe pace to store you info ration safely. Well it would appear its security leave much to be desired.

As to nude picture one stores them at one's risk. Look at teenagers sex texting not realizing that this could coe bad to d the had even years later.

Personally I nothing wrong with nude picture sex or even porn.It is part of being human and a rather enjoyable part. As long as it is voluntary and between adults, even between teenagers I have no problem. Now forcing it in any way is wrong, a form of rape. This includes drugging a person or taking advantage of someone drunk. Adults should not be having sex with teenagers or children. No must be seen as "don't even try." Boys and men just take responsibility for what they do or don't do. Stop looking for excuses to justify bad behavior.

Posted in: Police officer brands Ferguson protesters 'rabid dogs' See in context

Unfortunately in Fergunson it has been the police that have acted like rabid dogs. Meanwhile shooting of the black man was so unimportant to them that they did not bother to fill out a field report on the killing.

That sad thing is that the police did nothing about the few that took advantage of the trouble this that looted and burned things. So not only did the police attack those that were peaceful but did nothing to stop those that were the few and violent. So poor people don't get police protections and crime is allowed to have its way unless you live in the right side of town. The police are just another street gang.

The police had lied from the beginning saying that Brown stole cigars that he actually bought by showing a carefully edited verso of the surveillance tapes. They did this to some how justify killing a unarmed young man. idling ad beating none violent people is common enough to become worrisome ad it is unlikely that may officers well ever be brought to justice because they will only be investigate by internal affairs which has a vested interest in covering up any wrong doing. Corruption in our police forces has bee a problem side the day we first created them. I have friends who are retired police officers and they are shoved by what is happening in Ferguson. Mind you the violent crime rate has been dropping for 20 years thee is no excuse for militarizing police in our country.

Posted in: Ex-JSDF commander: Mass murders by disturbed soldier could never happen in Japan See in context

It has been a long time since a Japanese soldier has been to war. No amount of peacetime training can prepare you for war. No one, not the trainer, nor the soldier nows what will happen until he has actually been in a fight.

When I was in the United States Marines saying was that no one was trusted until after his third battle experience. Even so people may snap under different conditions. To be in a war you must break all the social taboos against injuring, or killing another human being. There is no guarantee that you will eve be able to put those taboos back in place.

Meanwhile the war in Korea continues, never a peace treaty signed and no attempt to end the war. That creates conditions quite different from a short term war. We in the United States are learning that the hard way with a near continuous "war on terror" that has already lasted longer than World War II. We have some veterans that have done six to eight tours of duty. Some even more. The damage increases with each tour of duty.

So until modern Japanese solders have been tested in war, no one can know how they will react. No one

I would imagine that the United States military Intelligence played a part in this as this comes under the heading of Psych Warfare.

America Intelligence has been given the right to use propaganda on the America people by using Intelligence created new articles, including hiring reporters in foreign counties to write pro American news stories. This has been done in Iraq and Afghanistan, and was exposed in some of our own media.

We have had our Internet providers working hand in hand with the government on passing our private information though to the government and I would not be surprised this is another little cooperative effort .

Our intelligence agencies hack the rest of the worlds internet as well.

The torch runners should be made up of top politicians in government, top officers of the chief clean up contractors, and upper level officers of Tokyo Electric Power Co. I am sure these good men will be willing to take this minor risk as a matter of honor to build confidence of the Japanese people over the clean up effort.

I wonder why some men think that they have some sort of right to tell other men how to live and act and dress. It is none of my business what another man decides to do in his life and it is perfectly okay if it is different than how I would do it.Nature does not make any duplicates not eve n the case of twins each will still have a separate experience and some differences. It is the idea that we all need to fit in that is unnatural. Many a man trying to be what he was taught a man should be will end up feeling his life is a failure because he could not become what he was not naturally.

By the way kilts give you a comfortable way to dress without dressing in dresses.

The simple fact is that the big corporations are not in favor of human rights, that was one of the reasons that they moved their manufacturing to China, cheap and sometimes almost slave labor.

No if anything is going to happen, it is going to have to come from the public and not spending cash with corporations that do business in China. Money is the only thing that gets anything done. Change the flow of customer money and the corporations will do things differently, but never expect that morals will have anything to do with the decision. Money is the only thing that matters in bussness, the fabled bottom line.

As the company is making profits, how about pouring more of those profits into the solving of the problem?

Schopenhauer,

I am certain fire bombing so many cities in Japan, that killed even more people than Hiroshima or Nagasaki would no qualify as proper war time behavior and we Americas did in Germany and other places. I am sorry but the excuse the Germans did it first hardly justified what we did as we leveled far more cities than the Germans did.

Just as the widespread us of Napalm, White Phosphorus and of course all the various chemical poisons we. proper warfare behavior.

How about our creation of al Qaeda some 9 Billion dollars worth, whom we now are also financing and providing weapons for in Syria.

So Japan is not the only country that needs to own up to atrocities they have done. But that is not an excuse for Japan not to do it, but I think they do have the right to demand the same of other countries, say perhaps Red China, who is now once again becoming dangerous do to heavy financing by the United States and Europe. Everything we do affects everyone in some way. It is far past time that we come to understand that and all of us stop being so hypocritical.

What need is there to study? It was hardly the only slavery by the Japanese. Don't forget the slave labor of prisoners of war. The more Japan refuses to deal with its past the more of a sore point this will remain. Own up to what happened and then it can finally past.

Now I do admit there are plenty of other countries that also need to own up to their own atrocities during war time and other times, including the United States. Shall we start with rape by US soldiers?

Posted in: Japan on backfoot in global PR war with China See in context

Oh America is pretty good at hiding some rather major atrocities of its own. This part the reason they act so judgmental about what other countries have done while ignoring t in their own history.

Meanwhile I think one reader hit at the reason China might be winning the propaganda war, its growing economic power in the world. This was the main reason that right after World War II Europe and Asia did not say much about Americas faults because they were so dependent on Americas economy.

So part of what is needed for Japan is to get their economy booming again and get back a bigger share of the market. By the way the same is also true for the United States get the economy back on track. With a failing economy other countries have no reason to care what happens to either the United States or Japan. Political power is tied to economic power, both for individuals and for countries. As long as China is the one that is booming, more and more countries will want to protect their relationship with China.

Posted in: Nanjing seeks UNESCO listing for massacre documents See in context

Japans atrocities during war time should not be forgotten as that is part of history. However to be fair, I think we need to record all the atrocities committed by all the countries in that war, including those down by the United States Britain, Germany, and Italy. Nor should any of the atrocities in the past be forgotten. Too many people have died and suffered during those atrocities and nearly all countries are guilty of atrocities. We can not just write off and forget the victims because the story is so gruesome. So the only way to see the true horror is to record all of them. The evil in history has shaped our world very bit as much as the good has. Time to see how many of the present problems are due to things we would prefer to forget.

Posted in: Nuclear regulator raps TEPCO over Fukushima radiation readings See in context

I like that figure that they have moved 6% of the fuel rods from number four reactor. Remember this the relatively easy onto do. So how many years will it take to get the last one out of number four storage pond multiply that by four reactor, but remember some of them are far too radioactive to even get close enough to unload the storage ponds.

Now remember we still have all those cores either in the reactor, or somewhat melted below the reactors which we still have to invent the technology to handle someday.. So what kind of a timeline are we now talking about, when it took nearly three years to even get started and new leaks of radiation every day, or week or month which has already been going on for three years. And the total profit of the company has not yet gone into clean up or aiding the victims of the disaster. Why is the taxpayer and the electricity user getting stuck for most of the bill as neither the users nor the taxpayers are in anyway responsible for the disaster?

By the way the media here in the United States and our own government are not reporting any of this in the U.S., leaving most or our ever sleeping Americans with the idea it is no longer a problem, or that the problem is actually being solved rather then just delayed. Of course GE is keeping quiet and all those same issue nuclear power plants are somehow nothing to worry about inspire of little accidents being covered up very week, month and year. Keep you attention on the Olympics, nuclear power is nothing to worry about.

What will be interesting is what kind of eruption it has next. Now if the shine owns it and it erupts can it be sued for damages. I would thin the shrines lawyers might want to check on it . Of course if they have not been able to regretter it, perhaps that will let them off the hook. Meanwhile what about the insurance companies and bank invested in the area? Will it bankrupt them? Might want to check you stock and bond portfolio. Considering the money tied up in the nuclear situation, will there their be any money for rebuilding in the area after an eruption?

Just some thoughts that come to mind if it was important to me in anyway. Since eruption will happen, one should be as prepared as possible.
