Pokemon spawn from eggs so no mammal atributes to them.

You mean like the echidna and platypus?

My concern with "where would like to go?" is how you explain that? I doubt many people fresh of the plane would be able to find their destination on a map and I have heard some really horrid manglings of building/hotel names. Hopefully the passenger would have the address.

Still, I appreciate the effort.

Lotte was only out of 3rd place by 2.5 games. 4th place was only 0.5 game behind that.

Most of the teams in the PL this year were fairly well bunched together. Lotte was only really dominated by Softbank this year so did well to get by them. Complaining about Lotte being "3rd" place doesn't mean all that much considering they only had one fewer win that Softbank. Softbank had fewer losses but many more draws which is why they got 1st place. Heck, even Seibu had more wins than Softbank but they got 2nd.

But how does a tie work in a playoff series? If Chiba had won game 7, they would have had an 8th game in the series?

I think you mean Chunichi instead of Chiba here.

If Chunichi had won last night, (or even if it had ended in another draw) they would have forced a game 8 in Nagoya.

I have been told but haven't yet confirmed that in game 8, they have to play until somebody wins. No ending in a draw.

Lotte pulled of a good one yesterday. Congrats!

I bet Fuji TV was sweating bullets again when the Dragons tied it up again in the 9th. That was the 2nd night in a row that they used up all of their commercials and from 10 o'clock on, they didn't have any sponsors to break away to.

I started watching from about the 5th inning, just as Kawahara was getting his shellacking. Even Satozaki was getting a piece of him.

Not sure why Wada got charged with an error in the 7th. His throw was on target but it looked like it took an irregular bounce. If anything, the error should have been on the infielder (Ibata? 2nd base?)

Good game. Almost wish I could go see them at Tokyo Dome take on the Korean champion this weekend. Probably going to have to work, though.

Asahi.com is saying he was charged with assault. Not necessarily SEXUAL assault.

Could have been worse, I suppose. It could have been a condom filled with someone ELSE's semen.

And a public service film with Marion Ross (Mrs. Cunningham) about the evils of smoking. It was filmed on the set used for The Brady Bunch.

is it legal in Japan to walk around with a bow and arrow?

They probably need to be in cases. I see school girls carry them around on the trains all the time.

Posted in: High hopes for Haneda's new international terminal See in context

Looking at the train timetables, from Shinjuku to Haneda seems to take about 40 minutes, whereas Shinjuku to Narita looks like 70-80 minutes. I wonder how the Haneda airport officials can claim it takes "two or three hours to get out to Narita" whereas "you can get to Haneda in 15 minutes".

Might be because there is only one Narita express every half hour or so from Shinjuku for much of the day whereas getting from Shinjuku to Haneda likely involves the Yamanote line where there is a train every 5 minutes.

I agree with Suzu1 that there needs be a Haneda-Kona flight (I would even settle for bringing back Narita-Kona.) Our family enjoys Big Island so much more (fewer Japanese tourists for one.)

However, I will have to disagree about the Waikoloa Village being "awesome." We stayed there 2 years ago. It seemed fun when we were taken there for dinner about about 5 years ago but actually staying there was a big pain.

The moat was overflowing with seaweed, the trams continually broke down or never arrived so that it was often faster to walk from our building to the lobby (a distance of 1Km or more without exaggeration.) One time, a tram broke down in the middle of the night near our building and with an open window (to enjoy the sea breeze and ocean sounds etc.) we were entreated to hours and hours of "The train is about to depart" in English and Japanese on an endless loop. The pool with water slide was kind of nice, I suppose, but the inlet they had for the ocean was brackish and even when there were fish and turtles swimming by, they were difficult to see with mask as the water was so murky. The only thing that the Waikoloa Village has going for it is the coin laundry (out on the FAR end of the complex.)

The Fairmont Orchid, just down the road a ways is a MUCH nicer place to stay. Nice and cozy and doesn't involve trekking across 2 Km to get from the lobby to your room. Forgetting something in you car at the Fairmont means you can actually walk to go get it rather than wishing you had another car to get from your room to the parking lot at the Hilton. sheesh Unfortunately, the Fairmont Orchid doesn't have a coin laundry but it is still a much nicer place and would go back there again if they were to bring back a Kona direct flight.

A Synthetic leather-like substance made by Kuraray.

Great, now I have this association of their legs and leather it my head...

There was no reference made to this pervert being a salary man, only the connection between the perverted laments of the Japanese men.

So you are saying now that your first comment was a non sequitur? Bit of a cop-out, don't you think?

The lament of the average Japanese salary man.

An unemployed man can also be a salary man? What a country!

I turned it off as well. Annoyed the heck out of me. For the most part, I use the box on my browser rather than the main Google page but when I have to refine my searches in the main window, the "instant" search is really annoying.

Posted in: Justin Bieber to guest star on CBS drama 'CSI' See in context

I don't have any idea who Justin Beiber is either but I get the feeling I am probably better off that way. The attempts by the writers of CSI of recent years to drag a story point through out the year have really fallen flat, especially when they leave story plot lines dangling for so long. They end up cutting those dangling threads in a 1 shot episode that only mentions it in passing.

I agree that the loss of William Peterson is basically killing the show. Still not as bad as CSI NY is becoming nor as horrid as CSI Miami has always been (had to stop watching that one) but it is going down hill and picking up speed.

Is this 20 glasses per person, per flight?

Pretty sure it is 20 glasses per flight total. If you aren't at the front of the plane, waving your Noguchi's around, you are SOL.

At 1000 yen a glass, I will still to the stuff that comes out of cans. Assuming of course, I actually drank beer. Blech!
