Posted in: Parents arrested after 8-month-old baby dies of suspected malnutrition, neglect See in context

My daughter just turned 6 months. When she cries from hunger it stabs me in the heart, it's a mother's instinct to feed her child and quell crying. I can't imagine how much little Rito-kun must have cried and cried exhausted and weak for nourishment.. it breaks my heart :'( I can imagine maybe the young mother had undiagnosed pp depression but that's no excuse for the father. How do you not notice a malnourished, desperately crying? Sickening.

We can't ban people from the South Americas or people travelling there because we don't even know how it spreads (can Japanese mosquitos spread it from a single infected person?) and the link to microcephaly hasn't been scientifically proven though the evidence is growing. Hopefully we can find out in time for the Summer Olympics.

PPD (Post Partum Depression) is very real, the drastic drop in hormones post-birth is crazy. I'm a woman who had a baby 5 months ago and it's so hard in this country when the father takes no paternity leave and while I'm lucky in that he helps as much as he can I imagine plenty of husbands come home late from work still expecting the house clean, laundry done and dinner on the table even when you've taken care of a newborn all day. She was probably under insane pressure, isolated and depressed. She needs to be punished but she was likely extremely depressed and obviously tried to reach out for help before finally snapping.

RIP little Misora-chan

The whole 'obligatory chocolate' custom is ridiculous. If I were a man I wouldn't want nasty cheap hyakkin choco given reluctantly by a coworker. And as a woman I wouldn't want the hassle of buying it and giving it to people I might not even like. So stupid. Luckily as a foreigner I didn't feel any obligation.

Shame, I was quite looking forward to seeing my daughter grow up and participate in this at school. I've done 3-tier at school back in the UK though not on a sports day. Obviously anything more than 3-tier is clearly ridiculous.. but 10 tier!?!? I'd have had a fit finding out my kids doing that. What were they thinking!?!?!?

Why is it anyone's business if Becky, an single woman dated a guy? Ok, so he turned out to be married, so hound him, Becky may have done nothing wrong if she fell for him before she knew he was married. Poor thing, I love Becky on Ningen Monitaringu on Thursdays. She shouldn't have to lose her career over this. Jeez Bill Clinton had an affair and stayed president.

What a horrid last hour on this earth poor littlr Ayato-kun, it absolutely sickens me to think of the terror and pain he went through as he was beaten to death :'( I have a small child, it's just unhinkable. If that pos yakuza thinks he's so tough they should throw him in a Thai prison and let him rot, but of course bring yakuza the police'll be too scared to come down hard on him.
