Hosting fake content is not a right in Australia

But it was a right when hosting fake content from the Australian government, media and big pharma during Covid.

I was over there when it happened, and non-Aussies might not have any idea of the hand-wringing that went on by the left-wing governments and media trying to avoid mention of the assailant's religion and motivations, instead trying to smear the victim as an anti-vaxxer because he opposed lockdowns and mandatory jabs. In effect, they were almost endorsing the attacker!

Very revealing.

Freedom of Speech should never mean the right to defame and destroy innocent people

If so, then nobody will ever be able to publicly criticize any individual or organisation for fear or a lawsuit.

Abortion will not be the defining issue, the economy will, as usual.

While I love the Bible and think it would be better if Western society returned to its biblical roots I think this will backfire on Trump.

People don't like to have morality, Christian, liberal or any other, shoved down thier throats.

The UN probably would have punished Israel long ago, but the problem is that the US. stands defiantly in the way. Shameful.

Israeli leaders will get thier due one day....from God. And it won't be pretty.

@Zibala

You mean like when Palestinian Arabs aid and abet Hamas mass murderer and rapist terrorists by keeping weapons and munitions in their homes, give the terrorists food and a safe haven?

I'm talking about people NOT knowingly hiding militants. pregnant mothers, children, babies, etc. Is it OK for Israel to slaughter them?

@bass4funk

Hamas will never win this campaign. Their fault, their responsibility, this all could have been avoided.

How can you in good conscience possibly justify the indiscriminate slaughter of thousands of innocent people including the aged, women and children? Would you like this to be done to you and yours?

"Do unto others......."

Posted in: Heavy fighting rages around Gaza's biggest hospital as Israel raids it for a second day See in context

How can Israeli forces possibly distinguish between civilians and Hamas fighters during a raid?

This is simply indiscriminate targeting of whoever they think MIGHT be a "terrorist" regardless of innocent loss of life and limb.

@Zibala

Hamas continues to commit crimes against humanity by hiding out in hospitals and launching attacks from those, violating international law,

If a criminal was hiding out in your home would it be OK for the police to kill you and your family in the process of catching him?

That's all Biden has to say? He should accuse them of hurting 31000 Gazans by slaughtering them in cold blood!

Maybe also keeping religions for the private environment and not funding any with public money?

So every other organisation contributing to the public good can receive funding but not religious ones? That would be discrimination.

What about religious hospitals, schools, DV shelters, homeless shelters, orphanages etc? Should existing funding be withdrawn?

@kohakuebisu

It is concerning that people can only imagine negative things about marriage. However, if that is the best your imagination can do, then yes, its probably best not to get married. Confirmation bias suggests you'll just look for negatives and be quick to criticize your partner.

I imagined marriage would be good and it has been. I didn't imagine the cost of food and energy would double when having three kids, but I don't regret having them and I'm sure we'll manage.

Well said and good for you.

saying campuses had become unsafe for Jewish students.

So some perceived "danger" to Jewish students should be the main concern rather than the slaughter of 30,000 Gazans? Typical self centred viewpoint of the Zionist lobby.

This writer, Trevor Hedberg, is basically inferring that the powers that be ought to limit how many children we can have. Is this not what the Chinese did for decades with their 'One-child Policy'? In other words Mr. Hedberg and others of his ilk are indirectly advocating Communist style control over the global populace. No thanks!

Posted in: Japan to boost child allowances to tackle falling birthrate See in context

Have the dinosaurs even bothered to contemplate people not actually wanting kids? Not everyone secures satisfaction in life by making a clone of themselves.

Ultimately everyone has a right to decide for themselves whether they want children. But they perhaps should also consider that it's not all about them. While they are enjoying child free life, parents are contributing to the short and long term economic welfare of society, including the childless.

Unless Japan at least hits the replacement rate the country is doomed.
