There is a very fine line between parent's being too involved in their children's lives and not being involved enough which in this case seems to stem from the latter.

I suppose I am confused as to why they don't just carry out the sentence for the majority of these death row inmates. As far as we know they are not providing information to help in an investigation or contributing to society, they are literally taking up space and resources that could go elsewhere.

I don't know what drives people to do such things, but if I had to make a guess I would attribute it to some form of inner turmoil caused perhaps by familial angst or emotional trauma. In any case, it would behoove law enforcement there to seek help for this woman, in addition to questioning.
