Posted in: Tokyo running out of beds and gear, medical staff say See in context

@tinawatanabe:

The hospital may be running out of beds but Tokyo isn't.

This is exactly the attitude that lead straight into the current situation.

Ignore the facts and hope for the best.

@Goodlucktoyou: "urge, recommend, vow, study, in the next year, I was drunk and don't remember, beyond our imagination, maybe, we will set up a group to investigate, it is totally under control."

May I add: I don’t know anything about it, my secretary did it without my knowledge and approval!

Posted in: Pompeo says G7 agrees China spreading virus disinformation See in context

Did he Say that, really???

Well, the TV statement of the German Foreign Minister on the same subject sounded a bit different.

But as we all know the trues of the US Government most of the time differs from that what ordinary people know.

Well then!!!

If Donald the great supports the delay, Abe-san can safely accept the inevitable.

Posted in: Coronavirus deaths in Italy overtake China See in context

The data from China is not correct and manipulated to appease the world. Fake news!

Exactly what I expected!

Data that do not fit into your view of the world must be manipulated.

And of course, the only country that manipulates date on such scale is China under its great leader Trump. O sorry I must have mixed that up, Fake news producer Trump is not in China.

Posted in: Expert panel discourages large gatherings, recommends reopening some schools See in context

I like the advice of those expert panels: discourage large gatherings but open some schools!!!

In other words: Please wash my body but don’t make me wet.

I am under the impression that authorities in this country keep the number of infected people low by not testing suspicious cases. Since the high-risk patients are the ones with an already existing disease or of old age, certifying an unrelated cause of death for such casualties does not seem a big problem.

Going on with the Olympics is not that bad an idea either, it will dramatically increase the likelihood of a lot of gold medals for Japanese athletes since many top athletes with their senses intact will rather stay home. The only problem will be the expected inflow of money, I guess that is not going to happen because common sense will certainly prevent me and most others from attending such an event.

Posted in: Over 30% of Japanese managers feel intense stress from working with foreigners: survey See in context

I wonder what percentage of foreign workers feel intense stress working with Japanese managers.

I was working as an Expat in Japan for 8 years, and I sometimes wondered what mysterious qualification brought some of my colleagues into their positions.

Posted in: Cabinet OKs sending SDF warship, aircraft to Middle East to protect vessels See in context

This mission is a typical Abe administration action, trying to make Trump feel good without angering Iran too much, “Please wash my body but do not make me wet!”

I wonder what all the tough talking people say if the first 10 Self defense people return home in plastic bags.

Posted in: Tokyo eyes starting Olympic marathon at 3 a.m. to counter IOC plan to move race to Hokkaido See in context

If there is there still someone who seriously thinks that the Olympic Games are about Sports and Athletes this proposal proofs them wrong.

I guess it will be a complete new experience for the Athletes to run at a time they usually sleep and before a crowd of (Japanese) hard core enthusiast only, particularly foreign visitors interested in those events will be very exited about another sleepless night after just recovering from their jet lag. Maybe also the employees of the subway and railway operators will appreciate the chance to show their commitment to their companies by working some extra night shifts.

Posted in: Koike again opposes plan to move Olympic marathon, walking race to Sapporo See in context

Someone should tell this lady that initially the Olympic Games were meant to be about Sports and Athletes and not about Business and Ego of Politicians.

She is not afraid of the event moving to Sapporo she is afraid some foreign visitors will move there and find the place more to their liking than Tokyo.

Posted in: Abe denounces Saudi oil attacks, refrains from singling out Iran in speech at U.N. See in context

I am not a great fan of Mr. Abe, but he seems the only one who applies basic legal standards that western countries always talk about.

This whole Iran blaming reminds me too much on the “proven” (according to the US and the UK governments) claims about Saddam Hussein’s weapon of mass destruction.
