“It is inexcusable for any Democrat or progressive right now to stand on the sidelines,” the president declared in a Rolling Stone magazine interview. He said that supposed supporters who are “sitting on their hands complaining” are irresponsible because the consequences of Republican congressional victories could be dashed Democratic plans.

I think they should continue to complain because all these Democratic Plans are bankrupting this country. He even now is acting suprised that his Obamacare looks like suprise surpise will make health care costs increase. They all and this goes to both parties need to start listing to the will of the people and stop all of this crazy spending.

Posted in: Who wants to work abroad? Almost no-one See in context

Taking my Daughter to Japanese school in Atlanta I meet alot of Japanese Buisnessmen and I can understand why they would not want to get stationed overseas by their companies. Alot of the people I meet will be here maybe 2 or 3 months then their companies are shlepping them off to another location only to comeback in 3 months then to be moved again. It seems that alot of the companies that are here in Georgia don't want their people to settle anywhere for anylength of time. With that kind of moving around I would not want to take an oversea's post either.

If you mean useless as revamping highways, water plants, and basic infrastructure, I can only describe you as a republican. They HATE improvements and probably want the USA to be like Santo Domingo or some third world hell-hole.

Wow right off to the generalizing between parties, but your right The roads are being fixed and the water plants or NO THEY ARE NOT. Where is all of the massive infrastructure revamp that you are talking about. I remember that bill that was supposed to but MILLIONs of Americans back to work was full of over 250 Pet projects from both sides. AND LOOK AT THE UNEMPLOYMENT RATE I think it is fair to say that your Infrastructure rebuilding is not happening ALthough I wish it was. Sorry to burst your bubble but I am not a republican or a Democrat, I basically think that all politicians are liars because they are.

adaydream- I know you already know everything but this is a friendly tip for you. If you set up your paycheck withdraws correctly then you shouldnt be getting a refund except a little one and you should not owe anything either. And if you say you didnt get that tax cut check then you are a LIAR. because you would have noted that in your tax form the next year cause you had to and they would have sent you a Check, unless your one of group of Americans that dont pay taxes.

Posted in: U.S. judge: Military's ban on gays is unconstitutional See in context

Although I am glad that they are looking to change this and openly let gays in the military, my problem is that I don't see how freedom of speech relates to this. As many prior service and current service members can tell you once you join the military you defend the constitution but alot of it doesnt apply to you. Example for the freedom of speech part, you can't bad mouth the Commander and Chief or your chain of command openly. In the Military you can be charged twice for the same crime once in the military courts and once in the civilian courts. This is just a judge that is trying to make a political name for herself mainly becouse the Pentagon is already changing this rule and Congress is going to make it law.

Posted in: Do you believe that Al-Qaida was responsible for the events of 9/11 See in context

All of you COnspiracy theorists that are posting and truly believe all of this nonsense might want to watch out. Real conspiracies would require that the people trying to cover something up silence permantly they people trying to get the truth out. And if you think the US Government is capable of destroying it's own buildings and people believe me they can FIND YOU!

Posted in: Do you believe that Al-Qaida was responsible for the events of 9/11 See in context

For all of you out there that think that this was not a terrorist attack let me clue you in on something that you are overlooking. THe US Government cannont keep a secret with something that large. Someone would have leaked it to the media. You would not be able to keep 3 plane loads of civilians quit. I know that it is impossible to debate with the conspiracy theorist but then again I am sure you are the same people that think ELvis is still alive and that the CIA murdered Kennedy. Read the reports and get someone to explain the scientific explanations of the towers, the results are sound.

Posted in: Was the dropping of the atomic bombs necessary? See in context

As many people above have pointed out this is a really tough moral question to answer. You can find reasons for and against the dropping of the bombs. The problem is although today it is very easy to critisize the US for dropping the bombs as many people have posted, Today we all know that Nuclear Weapons are not an option. The problem with these questions is that we are trying to justify or incriminate based off of what we know today and we do not look at things in the perspective of 1945. The President couldn't google and find out what the Japanese where thinking, For those that think he could have negotiated peace through his eyes I would assume since I am not him that once before the Japanese were preaching peace right before Pearl Harbor. President Truman Also knew that the American people would not accept another Okinawa with the cost of lives. Everyone here can talk big and say they would and would not do something but until you are the leader of a country that has been at war for years seeing horrifing casualty numbers I don't think that any of us could truly say what we would do under that same stress.
