Fear is a tyrants weapon of choice to remove an individuals liberty, under the guise of security. Benjamin Franklin said those who give up liberty for security end up with neither.

Liberty is the soul's right to breathe and by extension is the virtue that gives life its joy and meaning. Security is sold as protection from death but liberty is the only real protection of life.

what you a really asking is why would he admit to something he didn't do? Yes he admitted to being involved, but not to being the mastermind. These two were on the informant payroll. You seem to lack knowledge of how the intelligence system works. If it were about saving lives they would have put them on trial for conspiring to carry out the act and there would have been no loss of life, but that wouldn't serve a purpose

kcjapan, Tiumvere you both fail to understand the meaning of Justice. The murder of innocent people is a heinous crime and like you I want to see those responsible punished severely. But this process can only be when the courts uphold their duty to allow a fair and open defense. Your faith that the system works for your benefit is misguided and a fantasy. The system is designed to keep you subservient while your rights are revoked, like in Boston when armed militia enter your home without your permission. But I suppose that would be ok for you? You are special and the police state cares for your rights

kcjapan, you condemn this man to death based on propaganda from the mainstream media. You forget to question the motive behind this awful act of terror. This person has not been given a fair trial, not least because that would expose those responsible for this obvious set up. scratch a little deeper, do some research on the actual evidence and circumstances. Do you think a police Lockdown of Boston can be arranged in a matter of minutes? It is the ability to question that makes as human

Well said Cleo, clearly jerseyboy admires this woman. Id respect her if she had some humility and would refrain from using her daughter in a marketing pitch. The crux being having a work/life balance that benefits every member of the family.

the birthrate is low because the cost of raising more than one child is prohibitive on an average single income, like it is in most of the west. This means mum (or Dad) needs to return to work asap, which is not a choice. I am advocating less employment = higher incomes. Why should both parents work for $50k each when one can earn $100k, but potentially more. This interview is pie in the sky - we can all become high flying executives if we are clever, just follow my play book. Do some research on this subject, it is big business that wants men and women at university and then compete with each other for fewer jobs. isn't that obvious?

"utilising women" - is she a pimp ? Japan is the last place on earth where a woman can choose to stay at home and raise a family. Vultures like this person want the family unit destroyed so that young women can aspire to be just like her. The narcissism in this interview is repugnant

@scipantheist - Hatoyama fell on his sword for not closing the base at Futenma, as he promised to do when elected. The sinking of the South Korean naval ship Cheonan forced his hand- there is evidence that a US mine sunk the ship, rather than being fired upon from a North Korean ship. From there, the corrupt mockingbird media spun the story to instill fear in the Japanese public, and shore up support for the US "Pivot to asia" foreign policy. This is the modus operandi for every act of war in history.

Japan has the nous to defend itself from anyone, but it's up to the youth to unplug from their stupor and get engaged in politics.

Hatoyama is due more respect than the US puppet currently at the helm. While in office Hatoyama showed some independence from the Masters in Washington, which had him overthrown. If only Japan stood up and became a sovereign nation once again (without imperialist goals), the world would be a safer place.
