I "disagree", when people want to become public to increase their benefits, they should remain public even when the fall... or fail...

onewrldoneppl: kimono is a matter (and personally i saw better kimono), but with "personal touch" of Ines Ligron , the result is TERRIBLE! I can't understand how that woman could be in charge.. .totally messing up original costume (messing, not re-inventing)

Posted in: Asylum seekers find little refuge in Japan See in context

Each country have the right to do what it wants... living in a "multi-cultural" country (ah..ah..ah..) personally I will not allow anymore people to come... I really can't understand the pressure some countries do to accept an (unlimited) numbers of immigrants. Le'ts also reminds (at least here) that some "refugees" just pretend to fall in that category, it's much easier to stay (and then "disappear", turning in fact as illegal immigrants). The fact that Japan spend money for them, but it doesn't want them inside their border isn't so illogical. I can help a "friend" even without the need he will lives in my house...

Uhm... ok... really no offense... but I live in Europe, so except that article and a 2 minutes news on tv... I couldn't care more for a journalist (it could be different if he'd been know outside USA...)

Posted in: Skyliner train to make Tokyo-Narita run in 36 minutes See in context

Nipporti station turned from an old station to a modern one (2008 compared to 2007) but Keisei area was still on work, I really don't remember an escalator... anyway, I used it twice to reach Narita, it was a good train and if speed will increase, surely better. As someone told, Nippori is on Yamanote Line, 10 minutes (or 12, can't remember) from Tokyo station...

Posted in: Remember the bubble economy years See in context

Well, only thing that Japan should learn from USA is how NOT do economics, creating just a big bubble (sorry, but how it ended it looked like a stinky fat bubble that sadly exploded).

And I agree with Number11 when he says "Japan and the US have absolutely nothing in common -- the geography, resources, culture, system of government, history and sensibilities are different."

Back on topic... I can't understand the writer, in my (ignorant) point of view the fact that Watanabe's family had savings so they could afford the crisis (compared to american) it wasn't bad... same for the rest of the article, but maybe my english fails...
