LOL the northern islands originally belong to Japan, but were seized by the soviets after Japan surrendered following the detonation of the atomic bombs by US forces. They took those islands through military force when Japan was in a bad state, to say that they rightly belong to Russians and that the Japanese should forget about it is just dumb. You westerners only care about Western interest and have no interest over Japan; it's hilarious how you ppl love living in Japan yet have so much criticism over it's politics, people, and thinking

no more war! We live in the 21st Century, neither China nor Japan have issues with limited natural resources yet. And come on, honestly at this point nothing beneficial will occur if politicians keep fanning the anti-Japanese sentiment in China and Korea. All it's going to do is just prolong the ignorant hatred towards each other, with nothing to help appease both sides.

We got an interesting fighting match coming up soon ladies and gentleman. In this international Arena, we are pleased to present two equally strong and equally stubborn nationalistic sides fighting over huge swaths of empty ocean and lonely islands! On the right side, we've got a competitor who has been placing claim on a handful of islands on the east China sea they were able to control since the late 1800!. On the left, we've got a country whose laying claim over virtually all of China Sea through their support of having claimed all of china sea from the 1400s!

Now let's bring out the team deathmatch! On the left side we have the mighty and economically robust, the People's Republic of China (whose army and civil defense is controlled mainly by the Chinese Communist Party)! On the Right side we have another mighty and economically robust country by the name of Japan! Oh what's that?! Japan's got friends?? And Who don't like the idea of China's new Air Defense Identification zone?? Well let's bring the additional contenders! We have nations such as Taiwan, Philippines, South Korea, Vietnam, oh and let's not try to count out the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (A country that has been the most active nation in delivering foreign policy to the door steps of their opponents, and a country that holds a very large and war hungry Military industrial Complex, aka Private military Corporations).

Stayed tuned in Ladies And Gentlemen for our upcoming event, the Pacific BRAWL!!!!!!!!!!

Posted in: Marijuana goes legal in Washington state See in context

If you have never taken pot, than you probably wouldn't understand this, but pot doesn't make people violent or aggressive like how alcohol does. It also doesn't impair your motor functions as badly as alcohol impairment does, and that's legal.

So you mentioned two guys dead from attempting to rob a marijuana farm. Well let me ask you this, if state-licensed stores are able to sell this stuff and people are able to buy it, how would this result in more problems compared to the past when drug cartels or individual growers are the only people supplying and gaining money from this; many of whom always have to carry a gun in order to protect themselves from shady business partners and police and narcotics. State and federal police and law-enforcement organizations for almost a century have utilized billions if not trillions of Tax-payers' money to find and destroy these plants which you consider "drug" or "poison", when it actually has been growing and developing naturally in nature; Where humans have been using this for thousands of years.

In other areas where Marijuana is deemed illegal, many people are turning to other kinds of narcotics, such as spice K2 also known as synthetic weed. The contents of which is still to be determined by scientists who don't have any idea on what the chemicals known as JWH will do to users if used for long term. More and more kids are turning to this since it's difficult and illegal to purchase weed and that synthetic weed is easy and legal to purchase at liquor or smoke shops.

You mentioned that the US should follow countries in Asia on punishing individuals possessing drugs. Well this method may prevent a lot of people from purchasing narcotics however, there is still a high level of drugs being moved and sold all throughout Asia. From hearing personal experience of people I have talked to, there are still a high element of drugs being sold and traded in China, as well as in Taiwan and Japan and South Korea. Yeah the punishment is brutal, but people still take the challenge and risk and would rather take the risk of selling chemical narcotics such as pills, speed, coke, K, rather than sell weed since it's much harder to detect. You may believe that people living throughout regions of Asia don't take drugs. Sadly, the truth is far from what you may expect. Drugs are still being sold in the streets throughout Tokyo as well in other major cities around the world. The sad thing is, it is the more harmful substances such as E, cocaine, and other chemical-filled pills that are sold rather than weed, which produces chemicals in your brain which are reacted naturally and can be filtered out rather than the previous.

In conclusion, pot being legalized would probably do more good than bad. A pot head would more likely buy more food in a local convi store than rob it. A pot head would probably enjoy his or her work better than a alcoholic. A pot head would be much nicer and react nicely to people than an alcoholic. However being a pothead can make you forgetful of things. Smoking weed can make you withdrawn to certain social situations or paranoid over certain situations. Weed may possibly make you more content with life, therefore some people may turn out lazy or unmotivated. So legalizing weed can have some good and bad effects. Hopefully the good will overt the bad, and State and federal anti-narcotics can utilize their resources on tracking other illegal and harmful substances. Hopefully our society will turn out better.

Its sad how Japan's narcotics laws view marijuana as worse than cocaine so that people actually have to opt towards loophole drugs. I mean come on! Weed grows from the earth and its compared worse to drugs that are blended with chemicals?! ridiculous.

Matthew Simons; How does making a comment on a US serviceman punching someone for beng rowdy have to do with rape charges by other serviceman? I said sailor but I didn't mention rape charges.

matthew simons: he's an airman, yeah ok they didnt mention that in the article so excuse my confusion, also would you mind explaining why sailors are rapists? In the military, you're pretty much in a college environment where many people are either highschool graduates or college, post-college age personnel. So often times, they can get pretty rowdy when they screw around, sometimes that could mean doing stupid things, other times, it can mean play fighting. Either way, my friends in the military tell me that things do get pretty crazy when they start drinking, which can often lead to fights or some stupid 'stuff" happening. I can see how this stuff can be a problem in areas where military personnel are stationed.

Posted in: Japan says 4 more Chinese ships in disputed waters See in context

What I mean by drastic is to say how they warded off fishermen boats and Taiwanese merchant and navy ships a few weeks ago, you know when they had that big water fight? As well as in 2010 when a fisherman boat collided with a JCG ship remember that? Drastic as in they move in on the PLAN vessels and move them off by performing maneuvers like moving in close on them and spaying water from a hose. That can be considered drastic to the PRC. Anything small can be taken as drastic. And yes they havent been within the area, but they're NOW moving on territorial water marked by the JGC, so yeah..

I thought the Coast Guard is only equiped with Machine guns attached to their decks, the PRC sent a couple ships with missles armed onboard!

Posted in: Japan says 4 more Chinese ships in disputed waters See in context

yeah well if Romney were to be President (Theoretically not hopefully.) and if he kept his word on China, I definitely would see some shit around that time too, and a classic hardline response with US naval and marine units to warn the PRC elements off around the area. Which would probably result with a big impact on trade and future dialogue between the US and the PRC, hopefully the Japanese will not be involved too much and let the two sides duke it out

Posted in: Noda says Japan will boost coast security See in context

wow $5 billion US on their Coast Guard?! That's a lot of doe, I dont think the US even spends that much on their coast guard force haha they better have Search and Rescue helicopters armed with Hellseeking missles and 15 inch cannons

This is becoming a game of Chicken and on whose gonna take the first strike. Hopefully the JCG will not do anything drastic like moving in on these ships and attempting to move them away which can easily result with the PRC naval vessels firing at them; for the sake of the two nation's relationship to possibly heal.

Where's Gojilla when you need him?! I bet he'll settle this island debate fair and square. He'll make that island into monster island. An island where monsters can roam freely and without oppression from any form of authority. Of course some big ignorant country which shall not be named will probably declare that zone a military testing ground from Japan and authorize a full scale military invasion strategy which will result with Godzilla being pissed more than ever!

Doesn't anyone know that Japan's military has to keep up to date in order to fight monsters?

Posted in: China warns of strong measures in Japan island spat See in context

Ehh im sick of this stupid crap. Honestly what's China really gonna do? JCG is already there and have their ships around the islands. Wthell is the PRC gonna do? Why dont they just send some ships and have their stupid war over a bunch of uninhabited islands and ocean waters with Japan, Philipinnes, Vietnam, Korea, and all the other S Asian nations that have a problem with them already. Honestly their warnings are gonna be just complaints after a while. And what if there's not even that much resources buried beneath the South China sea?

f@ck nationalism. Globalization rules. And Multi National Corporations always win in the end.

Mang.. hope theres not a war between China and US/their allies, anyone ever did any research on what the S Korean and American war vets had to say when they fought with the Chinese Army during the Korean war? Endless Human waves which sometimes resulted with army battalions and companies being encircled. Many UN forces had the luck of using aerial support since they had air supremacy back in that time but what about now?

Posted in: Japan protests after Chinese ships enter waters around disputed islands See in context

yeah I have to agree with what some of you guys think. When the Chinese government states an area is its sovereignty that MEANS IT IS THEIR SOVEREIGNTY and will make an action if the any other country decides to set up a base there. And I think they're testing what the JCG will do. Hopefully if confrontation leads to escalation.. we'll see a pretty water fight rather than a real game of Battleship.
