Iran wouldn't even make the short list in regards to countries that had the power to wager a viable war against the U.S.
Iran has pretty much been left alone to develop nuclear weapons at will and when someone steps up the game (in this case President Trump) to try and stop it people say nasty stuff about him, I can assure you that Iran is one of the last countries that the world wants to have nukes.

Posted in: What to do if there is a killer on your train See in context
This article was tid bits of limited information, most people would want to be quiet and hide as best you can and not draw any attention to yourself but if the attacker notices you and starts your direction the best (and possibly only) chance you have is to fight with whatever weapon you have available, it may end up being your feet or fists but to do nothing at that point is to accept your fate.
Hopefully others would join in and the assailant over powered, there are numerous instances in which that has happened or even a single passenger has been able to subdue a passenger.
A fire extinguisher can also be very useful if the pin is pulled and the contents discharged into the face.
In the U.S nobody carries a gun onboard a flight (exception: air marshal's) but lord pity the fool that stands up and tries to hijack the flight with a knife in this day and age.

There sure is a lot of talk and people ridiculing Trump's trade tariffs, and also a bunch of threats but it will be interesting to actually see how this whole thing plays out in the end, I don't think it will end up badly for the U.S despite all the nonsense.

While 4 years + restitution/fine appears to be a light sentence it is in-line with what a Japanese citizen would receive for committing the same offense and more than what an American court would dish out.

The whole foreign trainee program is nothing but legalized slave labor and the poor participants are treated accordingly. The demands are simple; "Shut up and work" and so long as they adhere to this rule they are golden, but step out of line ever so slightly and you're on your way back to the motherland without recourse and don't bother complaining to the Japanese authorities.

Most every other first world country has adopted laws that prohibit any descrimination against a person with a person with a guide dog, the dog goes where the person does end of story and it hasn't been much of a problem or put out for anyone.
I'm not talking about fake service animals or emotional support animals in which these people are just looking for attention that they can't get otherwise.

It will be interesting to see what the punishment is and I am curious if the judge will take into consideration that these bikes are going about 5% slowerthan what is displayed on the speedometer or if that makes any difference, 279kph is roughly that bikes top speed under ideal conditions.

Interesting that this one fell from an ASDF helicopter and not nearly such a big deal is made, but still the comments of concern that someone is going to be killed by falling parts from aircraft which is such a remote possibility that there can't even be odds placed on this occurring.
A person is a million times more likely to be killed by a house cat attack.

Regardless of what Japan pays for the new F-35 fighter jets their total military expenditure still won't exceed 1% GDP which remains one of the lowest military budgets of any country on the planet.

I feel horrible for the NK people but the fact of the matter is that their leader is a lunatic and a serious threat, the sanctions need to be in place and enforced until Rocket Man starts feeling the effects. Until then any ship that is caught illegally transferring goods should be sunk.

I imagine that if his brother truly died on his own and he was left to deal with not only his brothers death but also his aging mothers disability alone that would put a tremendous amount of stress on this man, not to make excuses or justify but to make some sense of it. Very sad but also common in Japan.

It always amazes me how such small events (in the scheme of things) get so blown out of proportion in Japan, the disdain for America shines through in the out of whack reporting. In reality these sort of incidents occur through out the world within every military and the JSDF is not immune to their fair share of incidents and accidents either, it only appears that the U.S military suffers more because of the exaggerated coverage every tiny thing receives when it occurs anywhere near Japan.

I wish that Japan would order the U.S military out, it would save us Billions of dollars and we wouldn't have to worry about our service members being killed protecting Japanese that don't want us there, and have fun spending more than 1% of your GDP (what Japan spends now) building up your own SDF/military so it can protect the country.
And see how well things worked out for the Philippines that has been trying to get the U.S military to come back for the past couple of years because of rising fear of China which is also a factor for Japan but also throw in increased tensions with North Korea for good measure.

This is common practice to relieve the commanding officer of a squadron after a couple of accidents regardless of the circumstances which are still under under investigation, it is likely that the CO will be re-assigned and forced out in this case, it serves to reassure the locals that people are being held accountable for mishaps.
The Japanese on the island aren;t happy with the Osprey's being deployed there...come to think of it they are happy with the Sea Stallions, the Huey's, the Harriers, the F-35's, the F-18's the C-130's, the Sea Cobras...I'm not sure anything would make them happy short of all the Americans leaving.
