Posted in: Rotor abnormality led to emergency landing of U.S. military copter in Okinawa See in context
Generally at the first sign of a possible problem with the rotor system the pilot will land the aircraft as soon as possible, it is considered an emergency landing but in this case it was obviously carried out with full control of the aircraft and nobodies life was in danger on the ground as the problem originated over water and the spot they chose to land was unoccupied.
Opponents to the U.S military in Okinawa glean every opportunity to overreact to any incident no matter how benign, apparently forgetting the numerous events over the course of history in which JSDF aircraft have crashed killing civilians and destroying homes.
