I will never understand the fact that Japan wants more people to start families but won't give them essential things so that you can actually start a family like paternity leave. Let's not even talk about the lack of kindergartens/ nursery schools.

Yeah....good luck with that. Wave goodbye to any career you might have had at the very least.

What a terrible thing to say

Posted in: AKB48, Japan’s biggest idol singer group, apologizes for selling 'Date Tickets' See in context

I've always that group and what it represents. it's very clear that the purpose of that group is not to sing and dance but too well we all know right. And if you need any more evidence look at the people who buy their albums and the people that attend their concerts. It's sad that women still sign up to do that willingly. And it's even sadder the men that buy into it. This new date ticket is no surprise.

HonestlyI would be worried about the girl's safety as anyone can buy a ticket.

I can't imagine what kind of pain she was in to want to take her life at such a young age. It feels like Japan doesn't do much about this problem. So sad.

Think of waiting in line for a line at Disney, but instead on a snow covered mountain. Does that sound fun ?

That's sad that the government even needs to consider. It was a domestic terrorist attack that claimed so many lives. Just let the victims and the company have all of the donations. Pretty simple decision

Man imagine if Trump work this hard to help American citizens as much as he talks about immigration.

Again Trump doesn't understand how America works and seems to not understand America's laws.

What a mess of a president.

Posted in: 11 dead, 5,600 sent to hospitals last week due to heatwave See in context

Is it so hard to teach people to hydrate, not to overdress

I'm to think that it is. Remember being told at school too try not to drink water in front of the students because it wasn't fair because the students couldn't drink water.

This was a while ago but I just remember staring at that teacher in shock and horror because the kids had water bottles they just weren't allowed to drink them. Schools don't have AC I pretty much talked with a towel around my neck the entire time do to me sweating so badly. I don't think I'll ever get it

Posted in: 11 dead, 5,600 sent to hospitals last week due to heatwave See in context

I will never understand why those numbers every year are so high. I understand elderly people having issues with the heat, but I bet that high number isn't just elderly people. I still see people out when it's 32 something degrees doing regular outdoor activities with non breathable clothing on I just don't understand it. I get stared at when I bust out my sweat towel, fan and water bottle. I feel like every summer I'm missing something but it's hot out and I am going to be prepared.

Posted in: Suicide jumper flung back onto train platform, injuring 2 See in context

I would speculate that most who commit suicide do so with full awareness of the impact their decision will have on others. It seems to me that many young people commit suicide because they feel desperate and don’t have the experience to know that being in mental anguish today does not mean happiness is not possible later in life.

Clearly you have never met or even talk to a person that's been depressed.

There are many reasons and I can just tell you one from personal experience but basically it's just that you don't feel anything anymore. Like imagine falling down a hole slowly over time oh, you trying to climb out put your hands start to get weaker and weaker. Eventually you just don't want to climb anymore, because why your arms are too tired anyway. That's what depression has felt like for me.

Posted in: Suicide jumper flung back onto train platform, injuring 2 See in context

Maybe is this loss of humanity and empathy that brings people to commit suicide..

Japanese society brings people to suicide. Extremely long work schedules, societal pressures don't make things very easy for people.

I don't for being upset by the inconvenience. I also understand the argument of mental help because it's not talked about very often here even after really bad things happen.

Posted in: 'Apologize to America,' Trump tells Democratic congresswomen See in context

So tired of trump and his ridiculousness. He's such a hypocrite. He literally ran his presidential campaign on how bad America is. And now he's saying leave if you don't like it. It's just embarrassing to watch. It's even more embarrassing to see the people that support this nonsense. I miss real politics like you know Democrats Republicans liberals Independence whoever you are, talking about issues. Not this daytime TV drama that is American politics now.
