Just BS by politicians who are trying to stay in office

and mostly young people are the ones doing it and we all know young people don't really vote.

Why do news websites nowadays make entire articles out of tweets from a few random nobodies?

“Unnamed office” How useless.

I am sure people who work there and associated with that company know it is the cluster office. If the name gets out, idiots will be heading there to vandalize it and spread slander about it. The same reason if you get Covid, you hope the neighborhood doesn't find out.

I ask this because we were involved in something similar (unfortunately) where a customer didn't pay, and it was never classified as a criminal case but instead just a civil suit. Police were never involved.

It is a criminal case. There have been similar stories on here a few times about passengers skipping the fare then getting arrested.

Otherwise, why in the hell would anyone stay?

Not everyone is cut from the same cloth. Mind control and feeling of low self-worth can be at play here. I am just happy that it was it was finally reported and the woman is still alive. It could have been fatal.

As a foreigner here, I actually like when staff talks to me about baseball or how I've been because I feel they are treating me as a human and not some alien that probably can't understand Japanese.

Police said that at around 6 p.m. that night, the children’s mother tried to call Hashimoto and when she couldn’t reach him, became worried about the kids and called the police.

He didn't answer the phone so she called the police? Sounds like she didn't trust him enough in the first place to leave the kids with him. Glad the kids are safe.

I think in these cases, female cops should be in charge of inspection. If I was a female, I wouldn't be happy if I someone took a picture up my skirt then the police "investigate" the pictures one after another.

Posted in: Atlanta officer who shot Rayshard Brooks charged with felony murder See in context

The cop kept asking him how he got to the car park, he said his friend drive him there. The cops did not actually catch him DUI. IF they had stopped him for a driving offence and found he was DUI, punishment would be in order; but they had no concrete evidence, and being drunk in a car park should not be cause for summary execution.

The dude wasn't in a car park, he was in a drive-thru lane with the engine running. If he was in a parking spot in the first place, nobody would have cared. No one can judge how he got there until the street surveillance comes out, without a doubt during the trial. If he complied with the police, no doubt he would have been seeing prison time because a DUI is considered a parole violation.

I was barred from seeing my kids while I lived in Japan and they only lived 5k away from me.

and until now, the mother has been brainwashing them that you are a horrible person and for the children to never meet you. I like stories of kids wising up as they reach adulthood and seek out their lost parent. My brother-in-law(Japanese) divorced and lost his daughter 13 years ago. Both him and daughter lived only a 5 minute drive apart.

But the majority seldom take notice of things such as this.

This can be said about everything in every country. It takes a few to put the word out to the majority about what they noticed. It isn't like the majority are glued to NHK on a weekday afternoon.

I don't know the full details of this woman and whether her support is life or death for the husband and son. However, I think she needs to bite the bullet and go see her mother. The husband needs to encourage her to go and adjust his schedule to be able to take care of the son.

Posted in: BTS fans match group's $1 million donation to Black Lives Matter See in context

Case in point, Naomi Osaka was bullied hafu till she won a Grand Slam title, then suddenly she’s Japan’s “It” girl! I remember that there was a Harvard University graduate thesis paper on the anti-Africanism of China. Then, there’s my friend, who’s Black, who married a Korean woman. His wife was disowned by her family for marrying him and, in their words, giving birth to a “black monkey!” They even said that if she had to marry a non-Korean, why didn’t she marry a white guy, then at least the shame of her marrying a foreigner would be glossed over by her producing “cute” babies. If that isn’t systemic racism, I don’t know what is.

I don't remember Naomi Osaka being bullied for being half because she mostly grew up abroad. I did hear that her grandfather who didn't speak to her mother for several years because she married a black man which is bad in itself.

I also know a Dutch guy who had a Korean girlfriend for over 10 years and he proposed to her in which she said yes. Once her parents heard, they threatened to either disown her or she marries a random Korean guy of their choice. She chose her parents over the only man she ever loved. There was a documentary about this very issue and Hines Ward told about his trauma with Korean racism towards him growing up half-black/half-Korean.

BTS is the same group that wore a nazi cap, said the "n" word and wore a t-shirt glorifying the Nagasaki atomic bomb(Japan is the country they got their break). Their management is just trying boost up their public relations.

Not all rioters are actual protesters

Not all police officers are bad.

Not all white people are racist.

Not all burned down/looted businesses are white-owned corporations.

Not all business owners are perfectly fine to lose their business and life savings as long as justice is done to the officers.

Not all looters are black.

Not all BLM members are black

Not all Democrats care about black people.

Not all Japanese are xenophobic.

Not all Japanese have mental issues.

Not all Japanese care less about the coronavirus.

You can't defend one side and then point the finger at another saying they are all like this/behave in this manner.

Obama’s average approval rating was 8 points higher than Trump’s, and his highest was 18 points higher than anything Trump has gotten. Despite Trump supposedly being responsible for the greatest economy in the history of the universe.

Approval rating is a fickle system to judge by. Both George HW and W had higher approval ratings than Obama by average.

A question for all JT posters complaining about the secret service and national guard protecting the White House and president: Wouldn't all countries be doing the same in protecting their president under similar circumstances? This is why I vote Independent while everyone else here and in the U.S. follows 2 parties(Republican and Democrat) like sheep. One party calls victims "thug" and should be shot. The other Democrat(governor of Minnesota and mayor of Minneapolis) does nothing either and takes days to speak out, let everyone destroy the entire neighborhood and endanger lives. They are using this and thinking of strategies to win votes for the upcoming election instead of anybody doing anything.

Posted in: National Guard called in to respond to Minneapolis violence See in context

“We’re burning our own neighborhood,” said a distraught Deona Brown, a 24-year-old woman standing with a friend outside the precinct station, where a small group of protesters were shouting at a dozen or so stone-faced police officers in riot gear. “This is where we live, where we shop, and they destroyed it.”

During the Ferguson protests, most of the people burning and looting shops and restaurants weren't even from Ferguson. Many of them came from as far as NYC. Do you honestly think Minneapolis residents woke up and came up with the bright idea to burn down their neighborhood?
