I never know exactly the drug they are talking about in Japanese news. They say stimulants in English, I am guessing this is 覚醒剤 かくせいざい which would be crack. Or is it meth? Or pot? I never know they are so vague. Speed could be a stimulant...

When the people attempting suicide are in their 70's and 90's, yes, a 4-foot barrier could definitely have been a deterrent.

I do not think so

Just take the week off. That is what everyone at my office is thinking/discussing of.

bite your tongue young man! good Japanese workers do NOT take days off. They play pachinko and smoke in coffee shops. If they DO get sick, they ride the train and spread germs. This is the doctrine of a good Japanese worker!

zichi I agree completely. If you want to off yourself go ahead, but don't make everyone else suffer.

As for barriers, no they would not have made any different. If you are at the point of taking your own life, after contemplating everything, stepping over a 4 foot barrier is not a big deal

barriers will not make a bit of difference. they will only prevent accidents. do you really think someone on the brink of suicide will be deterred by a 4 foot barrier?

Why do they choose jumping into trains rather than hanging by themselves? It causes a lot of inconveniences to train users.

That is precisely why. They want to make headlines and get attention. Go out in a bang, if you will.

i love hearing people complain about free stuff. Anyway, not complaining but advice, since the launch I think the last thing you need to do to is give each user a page they can see their last comments, and when they click the comment it takes them to the comment.

The site was like that before and not it is not. You go to the top of the article. Much more scrolling now. Not complaining, trying to help

Well, I have livere long enough to see a lot and I can only explain this as comfort. Japanese were finally fed up with typical LDP garbage and when they finally elected a different party (DPJ) they got stuck with Hatoyama, a mama's boy moron who was woefully incompetent. He got it because Ozawa, who was SUPPOSED to be PM, just got into an accounting scandal.

After Hatoyama they got Noda and Kan... After all that, can you blame them for supporting the LDP again? Its the old "well, at least it isnt Hatoyama, right?" argument..

@5SpeedRacer5 I should be ashamed of myself for getting ENEFARM? you sound like either a nuclear lobbyist or a conspiracy theorist with tin foil on his head.

ENEFARM allows you to see how much electricity you are using, is very eco-friendly and it also tells you when you use too much electricity. There is a digital monitor in the kitchen showing you how much gas/electricity you are using.

The only ingenuity I ever got from TEPCO was them raising my electricity rates so they could clean up their mess after they tried to lie to the public about it.

I think you should be ashamed of yourself.

If NK took a first shot at a US vessel, they would be leveled to dust in seconds. Iraq never took a first shot at the US, neither did anyone in the Korean war. The US went half-effort on both of these.

If one of our ships was fired at I guarantee we would be 100% in it and would flatten that country to bits. In seconds... With the full support of the world, the UN and everyone who thinks with a brain (obviously Russia and China are not included)
