the only terrorist activities to over happen in Japan were by Japanese (Red Army, Aum Shinrikyo)

How does this law compare to those in the US and UK? I am sure US and UK have similar laws, is this one more dangerous?

my company turns off the server and online system at 10pm. These guys want to work so badly that they download the entire database onto excel so they can work after 10pm.

The non-Japanese in my office are excluded from cleaning duties.

I would say the second pet peeve is the morning taiso. My colleagues tell me if I do it I will be healthy, they have no idea I walked 2km to work and had a workout already. Might be better for me. Brainwashed people thinking raising your hand above your head will be good for your health

Posted in: I wanted the compromise plan to be accepted so anti-passive smoking measures can be in force by the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, but everything has gone back to the beginning. See in context

I quit smoking over ten years ago. I do not think smoking needs to be banned indoors, but clearly say if your establishment allows smoking or not. I believe only about 18% of Japanese smoke these days, if the numbers I read are true.

As long as I have the option to avoid smoking places and stink, I do not feel like I need to tell others what to do.

I am a white guy in a traditional JP company.

Same. I would say my biggest pet peeve is the 6pm meetings with no paid overtime

Posted in: Toxicity levels 100 times safety limit detected again at new fish market site See in context

It's outgrown its capacity, and the infrastructure is old and starting to break down.

Acquire some contingent land and upgrade the infrastructure. Probably would cost less than the sheet they are considering for $76 million

Overstay visas? Not a chance. I accidentally overstayed my visa leaving Japan. They took me to a back room, grilled me for an hour, extended my visa and I made my flight.

These people are not being detained for overstayed visas.

Can we start focusing on honest hard working people instead of beggars and sponges?

noted that a bilateral accord on the "comfort women" issue was widely viewed as unacceptable.

Because we Koreans are petulant children living in the past, but thank you for your payment in 2012 we appreciate it.

some people are in the world to work and contribute to society. Other are in the world to avoide working, sponge off of others and pull others around them down.

If I were detained I would lose my job. I have not heard these people complain that they need to get back to work. Oh, no job? What a surprise and no wonder their countries do not want them back

It's only gross sexism

I thought bisexual people made you "barf"

Men who wear bras and panties make me barf. Women who wear them are just fine..

Heavens forbid any of the more rabid commentators found themselves in such a situation :-(

I do not commit crimes so I will not be in their situation. Stop spending resources giving a rip about these people and let's care for law abiding people who live here

Northernlife I could not have said it better. I have been here a while and never been detained. List up their reasons they are detained and then discuss

Toyota you might want to "eye" your near future rather than pipe dreams like this. You were in the red last year despite government safety nets, top selling car models and trade policies tipped in your favor.

Stick to making cars, this is the same thing that tripped up JAL before the govt bailed them out, not focusing on your core competency..

It's all a house of cards and speculators are running the game.

It is not a house of cards when more people are employed pumping money back into the economy. Trump policies have created more jobs in 5 months than Obama did in 8 years. Under Obama more were exported. I could give you the data, it is there, go check it
