One of the most awkward photos I've seen a group of politicians take.

What I'm wondering is how can restaurant prices be so high (upwards of ¥900+) but their employees would probably need to work twice the hours to eat there. It boggles the mind.

Surely they didn't think the world forgot about the Nanking massacre? You can't sweep history under the carpet, Japan.

Is he going to sneak into women's houses with a turkey baster? Because better men have voiced their solutions to the declining birthrate epidemic and none has so far succeeded.

And so it begins

I'm positive that one of these "new" arrows will involve the printing press at the Bank of Japan to run nonstop around the clock again. Just keep printing those yen, Abe; soon the people will be paying ¥ 100,000 just for a gallon of milk.

It takes a real scumbag--- a real feculent piece of contemptible, subhuman refuse to want to exploit the sick and elderly.

Good! Those things are ridiculous.

Let's be honest here! I'm no fan of the recent security legislation, but I'll play the devil's advocate because China has been vying to be the new poster child of truculent dog and pony show theatrics in the region. If anything, Chinese expansionism is probably an even greater threat to regional security.

I'd like to quote the great French philosopher Montesquieu: "There is no crueler tyranny than that which is perpetuated under the shield of law and in the name of justice." It truly is regrettably that PM Abe has chosen to disregard the will of the people and barreled this undeniably unconstitutional piece of legislation through the Diet, just so he wouldn't need to draw a referendum (which he knew the citizens wouldn't have approved, regardless).

Why even have a constitution if you are not going to follow it? I don't like to throw the "f-word" around, but seeing as Abe has indeed proven himself to be a fascist, as well as a furtive jingoist who holds no regard to the rule of law, I can say with certainty that my assumption hits the mark (unlike the Abenomics arrows). I stand with the noble protestors.

Look at that commitment! Abe is so good, he can govern in his sleep! (This is sarcasm, of course)

Wow! Japan just can't catch a break. Successive typhoons that caused massive flooding and loss of life, an earthquake, and now this.

They do know their incarceration is a punishment, right? It's not a country club.

Doesn't surprise me in the least, to be honest. Obama should've chose a career diplomat to fill the post, than a self-serving dilettante. The ambassador selection process has become a joke as of recent.

Not to denigrate this but in the current political climate, no one wants the job but Abe. Unless you're a glutton for punishment, the office of prime minister is a powder keg of a job.

Those Abenomics arrows are missing there mark big time.

PM Abe is an enigma, indeed. I'm certain his wife went there in his place because he wants to appeal to his ultra-conservative buddies. Any progress made in patching up relations with his Pan-Asian neighbors has probably been undone.

"The boy, Ryoto Hoshino, told his mother he was going to hang out with Hirata at about 9 p.m." A round of applause for the parent of the year... Why would you let your 12-year-old go out that late?

Self-immolation accomplishes nothing. I personally couldn't imagine setting myself on fire all for the sake of my opinion/belief. The little attention this received is fleeting and will most likely be forgotten by the end f the week.

"I wanted to release my sexual desire and so I decided to target a young woman." Is that you, Ted Bundy?

The problem lies in the offering of tepid and listless apologizes while simultaneously promoting revisionism. PM Abe is a slippery and duplicitous one, indeed. That's just my two cents.

I applaud Prime Minister Abe's efforts to educate the Japanese populace on the security bills, but alas, the medium he chose couldn't have been more condescending. I see only a marionette show rivaling this display.
