Bahahaha, yeah looks like Mr. Tough guy got his arse kicked. I agree that it sounds like he called the guy out and couldn't live up to his own ego. As a martial artist myself, I hate guys like this. Besides look at his photo, looks like he hasn't trained properly in years. All mouth and no action.

@biglittleman

That right there says it all! From my personal experience as an ex-

It's obvious you're a person who likes to try and criticize or attack people personally. I'm an ex-dancer because I chose to move up the ladder. Did you not see the director title in the sentence? It's like saying Directors like Travis Payne (who happens to be my cousin and who choreographed "This Is It") or Fatima or Jamie King or Wade Robson or Brian Friedman or Tone & Rich can no longer dance. I direct multimillion dollar stage productions for a living in Japan and I'm still considered one the best dance instructors. Wonder what or how much you know about dance.

My advice to you: If you don't know what you're trying about, silence is sometimes the best option.

Moderator: Readers, please keep the discussion civil.

Saw the movie and took two things from it:

First: Some of his songs were brilliant reminders of what we as the human race need to work on, songs like "Man In The Mirror", "Black Or White", "What About Us" etc... and then there were songs whose lyrics were absolutely ridiculous like "Billie Jean", "Smooth Criminal". Michael Jackson was a perfectionist to be sure but a musical genius? I think that's pushing it.

Secondly: He may have exploited and brought popping and moonwalking to mainstream audiences, but he was no dancer. A dancer feels the music and moves appropriately. Michael J has one series of movements that he repeats over & over & over & over & over again (regardless of the mood or the tempo of the song) to the point where it gets nauseating. Uptempo song = popping and moonwalking; Ballad = popping and moonwalking with some spinning, pointing and crotch grabs sprinkled in here and there. Not to mention his age was showing, so all of the above mentioned dance moves were hideously performed. At this point, I feel I should mention that his backdancers were absolutely awesome!!! Which made MJ's shortcomings all the more obvious.

As an ex-professional dancer/choreographer and now director, I must say that this film DID NOT showcase Michael Jackson as a musical genius or dance master! It should be looked at as more of a goodbye to one of the world's biggest pop icons. A tribute to his legendary career. No other entertainer in our lifetime may ever reach his iconic status and for that he must be remembered.

perspective -- fair question. And the answer is simply that this movie is a tribute to his genius as a performer, and, if you can't divorce that from his personal failings, then I feel sorry for you and hellhound. (Especially given his own troubled upbringing.) Many geniuses, in many fields , lived troubled lives -- does "A Brilliant Mind" with Russell Crowe ring any bells? You are, in effect, saying that society should stop respecting Michael Jackson's talent simply due to a sensationalist press that strives 24/7 to find dirt on anyone it can. Thanks, but I won't let the Nancy Grace's of the world decide for me who is worth respecting. Are you now tired of Tiger Woods as well?

herefornow, You are obviously a fan of Michael Jackson and entitled to your opinion but so are the other people here. I was also a fan and on the day he died literally had dozens of people rang to ask if I was saddened. Several things crossed my mind:

Let him be gone so that he may finally be at peace from this media circus of a life he lived.

There was no way the vultures around him weren't going to just let his name rest. They were going to come up with ways to keep cashing in on his fame. "This Is It" was the first of those plans. I knew from the moment they said it would only be in theaters for two weeks and we would never see that footage again, that it was a publicity stunt.

If they were true to his legacy and really wanted to add value to the experience of "This Is It" they would have kept their word and not release this on DVD. I went to watch it just in case, but I knew from being in the media/entertainment biz for almost 30 years that it was never intended to be "It".

This is by far one of the sickest thing I ever read in Japan. After 23 years in this country, I've seen absolutely no change in the behavior of Japanese people. It seems that they are doomed to the dark ages of humanity as the rest of the world moves forward. They are some perverted geeks who hide out in their caves creating great technology, but as human beings they don't have a clue. Since I've met some really wonderful Japanese people, I just wonder how I can help to make Japan a better place. I don't want to think that they are all doomed but when I read stories like this it makes me wonder.

I used to think it was only the Japanese men who were perverted, but these hard times have brought out the dark side of Japanese women and have shown me they can be just as perverted. This is a sad day for me personally as a person who loves this country and wishes to make a difference.

I would refer you to the State Department Handbook on protocol. The President does not bow to any foreign monarch. The First Lady does not curtsy to any foreign monarch. This has been established etiquette and protocol since the birth of our nation. I would refer you to a history book on the Revolutionary War and America's historical opposition to monarchy. Call America an "arrogant" nation all you want, but until now, no American President bowed to a foreign monarch. There is nothing "arrogant" about refusing to bow or curtsy, as the mutual display of respect between dignitaries in the 21st century involves a "firm shake of the hand" or mutual nod of the head. Note how when Emperor Akihito meets with Hu Jintao of China, or Lee Myung-Bak of South Korea, they exchange hands -- NOT bows.

Since you like to read books, let me refer one to you. Sun Tzu's Art of War. Sun Tzu says (and I'm paraphrasing) "what may have worked before doesn't work for present circumstances. The most dangerous war is the last one won. It must be forgotten as It makes a General arrogant and overconfident. An intelligent General must adapt with the times". The world is a much different place and maybe it's time for a change in American attitude. The cocky cowboy attitude doesn't play well with the rest of the world and only alienates us. American would be nothing without it's allies. Mr. Obama has our best interests at heart whether you want to realize it or not.

In addition, if any American is being disrespectful, it is those so-called Americans who openly criticize our president on a national and international stage without understanding or waiting to see the results of his actions, therefore weakening any effort of goodwill he has done on our behalf. Another example of their ignorance is to refer to him as Obama when the proper American protocol is to refer to him as Mr. Obama as the elected president of the United States. These people don't even respect American culture or protocol, so of course they would have a hard time respecting and/or understanding Japanese protocol. I'm afraid for my country as it seems it has become a country of uneducated whiners with opinions rooted in ignorance.

Posted in: Obama's bow to emperor causes outrage in Washington See in context

As an American, I find that Americans are ignorant to the very concept of strength, especially how it is perceived in Asian culture. Having lived in Japan for over 2 decades, I can say that if anything, Mr. Obama's gesture showed a strong and confident America. It takes me back to when I studied Aikido. My instructor (at the time) was a 7th degree black belt and yet if you saw him walking down the street, it would have been impossible to imagine. He looked like (and certainly was) a gentle old man. However, in that Aikido dojo he was the most powerful martial artist you'd ever see. I learned from him, what it truly means to be strong and powerful which is much different from arrogance, for the strongest people in the world are also the kindest. They have an inner calm and confidence that doesn't require them to be arrogant. A humble gesture from the most powerful nation in the world shows a nation that is tolerant of other cultures and confident. This is a different world and therefore we need a different America. Well played Mr. Obama.

This world is despicable and the Bushes knew it from the very beginning. There are people who may not agree with me politically but the fact is irrefutable; George W. Bush is a war criminal! Now he's walking around giving lectures and I assume being paid for it. What a twisted world we live and I'm ashamed of the Japanese that they would invite him.

Well I can't imagine anyone being stupid enough to listen to his advice. He's failed at everything he's ever attempted and if it wasn't for daddy deep pockets, he would probably be behind bars.

There are so many things to be considered in this story. Had this been in North America, there would more than likely be one dead or critically wounded suspect. My father was a police officer and I can say there is no way the guy who took the baton and assaulted an officer would have escaped without injury had this been in North America. He was lucky the officer only fired warning shots. A baton is a deadly weapon and it's self defense.

However, I do wonder why the best description trained police officers could come up with was foreigners in T-shirts. On one hand they seem like compassionate police officers who spared the guy's life and on the other hand they seem like incompetent buffoons.

This story needs more details to get a better understanding of the situation.

Wow! Dude are you really that stupid or have you not been around many artists? There no such thing as a bodyguard who walks around with a tag/badge/ID or whatever stating he (or she) is a bodyguard. She's a singer, not the President. She isn't being guarded by the Secret Service. Besides the moderator already commented on another post that he was her security.

A lot of people have mentioned about Mac being multilingual and that's awesome, but the one outstanding factor that I always tell my Windows friends when suggesting they buy a Mac (besides performing better at "real world" tasks) is that a Mac is actually two computers in one. People tend to forget the fact that any modern Mac can also run Windows OS if you ever needed to.

I'm currently using Windows 7 N (for Europe which means no IE and no Media Player) and can say that this is the best windows ever. Runs as smooth as an XP and looks really well.

That's not saying much since XP never really ran that smoothly.

Posted in: Windows 7 strong, but don't pay to upgrade See in context

Strangely? Windows 3.11 is slower than DOS, Windows 95 is slower than 3.11... etc. Hardware now is so cheap this really isnt a factor unless you are running a backwards PC. The new operating systems do more, and require more resources. If you dont need to do more, use an older operating system. It's all about what you need the PC for, there are many choices out there. I'm all for choices such as Linux, however Linux is only really suitable for a minority of people.

Wow! I guess this statement actually makes sense in a Windows world. My computer (a Mac) is actually getting faster, the OS can do more and it's actually getting faster too with each upgrade. Leopard was faster than Tiger; Tiger faster than Panther; Panther faster than Jaguar and so on. Maybe it's us Mac user who are crazy for thinking that technology advances forward or that the OS should perform better on faster machines and become less bloated. Oh yes and those dreaded Mac prices. So please tell me how much a Dell would cost after you upgraded to specs that actually made it usable for more than just checking your email and installed all the software you need for doing "real world" work. In most cases, you'll find the Mac is much cheaper for what you get out of the box. But hey, maybe we're the stupid ones...... NOT!!!

These "are" naturally built muscles and they look awesome! Not like the steroid enhanced behemoths you find in western body building. But I do think "the" golden sprinkle tans are a bit too much. Tanning I understand. Oiling I understand to show muscle definition but the unnatural bronze look takes away from the natural humanistic look. These guys look like bronze statues. I hope this isn't the new trend in BB.

Are there actually losers out there hosting "Windows 7 Launch Parties"? Really? Us Mac users thought that was just a big joke. I love Macs but I would NEVER host a Mac OS Launch party unless of course Apple was paying me (a lot) to do so. Just goes to show how goofy Windows users actually are.

On another note, I think a journalist from MacUser magazine said it best:

"It’s amazing how future Microsoft products beat current Apple products time and time again, isn’t it? You’d think Apple would have just given up by now."

Windows 7 will give Windows users features that Mac users have been using for years and they're all excited about it. They talk about it like it was something new or futuristic. If you are using Windows, you are behind the curve and that's where you will stay until you switch to a Mac. No argument, no excuses. It's a fact. Get used to it.

You are all making assumptions. I'm going to assume that there were no kids around since it was early in the morning (most kids were probably already at school by 11:00AM) and not all parks are popular, so this could have been one of those tiny off beat neighborhood parks that hardly anyone goes to. If that was the case, where's the crime? Two consenting adults and no physical contact. Hell I've seen worse done in parks with people watching. Try going to Yoyogi Park in Harajuku on a warm summer evening.

Posted in: Chicago's Olympic loss is blow to Obama, too See in context

It doesn't matter what Obama does, the rules have never changed. An African American, has to be an honor graduate from Harvard to even be considered for the same job as caucasian with a C average. This is the double standard that society has always placed on people of color. Obama could solve health care, end both wars, fix the world economic crisis and still some would complain he didn't do enough. Meanwhile a caucasian could start 2 wars, completely rob the treasury making himself and his cronies richer than they already were, cost the nation thousands of young lives, cause a world economic crisis that is still affecting millions of people worldwide, and be dumber than donkey shiznit and still be considered adorable by some. Chicago losing is just one more stone to throw at Obama's glass house. There are just people who just want to see him fail so they can say "see we shouldn't have hired the black guy". Chicago losing is not Obama's fault but there are those who will try their best to make it about him.

I think Hehehohohaha said it best:

And don't forget the other two failed bids. What does Tokyo know about business. And who is Madrid? It is a mystery how Rio won since everyone knows Brazil is a socialist country and a bunch of know-nothings about business. Oh yeah RomeoRamenII the Chicago bid failed because of Obama since we all know the other three cities are losers to begin with. Sorry to burst your bubble, but not everything is about Obama. There are other people in the world who are just as talented. I know you are disappointed and need to find someone to blame, but why not congratulate Rio on their successful bid and accept it. Growing up is hard to do, but you can do it.

How do four adults suffocate inside of something that is just 4m tall? I'm assuming of course that if they fell in there must have been an opening at the top of the thing so air could get in and that the adults in question are at least 4m tall or taller. Couldn't they have just stood up? Excuse me if this is an ignorant question. Not exactly sure what a feed silo looks like. Are there blades or something dangerous on the bottom that would have prevented them from standing up?

English language menu is not trivial. When you really want to use an electronic gadget to it's full potential, you really need to understand the menus. The more advanced the gadget, the more you need to understand. I just bought a Canon Kiss X3 (as it's called in Japan) last month. It has so many buttons and settings, I would be completely lost without the English menus. To strip a gadget of a particular feature for no apparent reason is just stupid. This was a blunder for Panasonic. Obviously they have the ability to provide English (or whatever language) menus, why exclude it? In a tough and competitive economic climate, you don't want to give any prospect pause when considering your product versus the competition.

Thank god for real camera makers like Canon and Nikon. You shouldn't just buy a camera anyway. When you buy a DSLR you have to think of the ecosystem i.e. lens and attachments. If you really think that far, you would never buy a Panasonic DSLR in the first place. They make cool video cameras though.

I would have to agree with all of the posters here that although the iPod and iPhone rock as far as GUI and usability, the sound is atrocious! The supplied Apple earbuds are garbage at best. However, the iPhone becomes a different device when you pair it V-Moda earbuds. Awesome sound! I haven't heard the Walkman but Sony generally makes great sounding products, so I would assume that the Walkman sounds great. Before I bought my V-Moda earbuds, I used Sony's earbuds exclusively. And the sound on my PSP is awesome, although I wish Sony hadn't decided to limit the volume. If any Sony product could give the iPod a run for it's money, I would say it's the PSP. Freakin' awesome gadget and in many ways way better than the iPod. The only problem is once again, Sony screwed the pooch with it's proprietary format the UMD. When will Sony learn that trying to force closed media formats on the general public is just bad business? Until they learn that lesson, they will always lose to the likes of Apple.
