i think the best punishment for these type of people is to exploit them to the public for their crime. Shame is categorized as the number one thing for "DON'T" within the Japanese family.

Why can't these people try to seek help? I'm sure there are several avenues that they can approach to deal with their personal issues. It must be their traditional pride and in most of these cases, the outcome is always a tragedy.

can see some business opportunity here. Im gonna open used ladies' undies for men shop. Like they have for recycle shops. Inventory would be easy to obtain. Just buy new undies and have them worn by girl volunteers and sometimes men(after all, customers will not know who wore it). Then let them return them unwashed so that I can display in my shop. It's a long time tradition among these people to resort to suicide if they cannot make ends meet due to their pride. I'm sure if they were Christians, the suicide rates would drop dramatically.

Suicide was a big issue for the Japanese people who are dealing with high stress factors but now it's resorting into violence. Many decades ago Japan was rated as the lowest in crime reports but now it seems that it's climbing higher than the US. Something is triggering this high crime rate of child to parent and my guess is their standards or expectations of their offstring is set too high.

I, myself live with my mother and I'm 57. I can relate to how this son feels by snapping at a given moment. But there are limits that he should have established within himself which he failed to do and it's sad that it resulted in this tragedy. He will never have a normal life from here on. For those of you readers who are in this same predicament, set some standards for you to control your temper flaring. Only you can set it because every character is not the same. An example is finding ways to make your relationship better with your mother so she doesn't irk you. I found this route is the most successful but if it doesn't work, stay away from her until you can find other resolutions. Anger management may be helpful but if the situation is ongoing, I think the long term will result in violence.

I heard of "shit hitting the fan" but this is ridiculous. Only in the Zoo you see this happening with the Monkeys/Gorillas but I guess you can now classify Japan as being in this category.
