They're refugees not evacuees!

I suspect that the government wants to get the election out of the way before making any announcement about easing border controls.

Quarantine-free travel for residents and nationals is long overdue though.

Quite the scoop.

Right, let's relax the rules because someone went through some personal hardship and broke the rules.

Read the article. The rules were upheld and she served her suspension. She was eligible to compete in Tokyo but they chose to make an example of her despite the personal tragedy she'd suffered.

Pretty harsh decision seeing as her mum had died and she was eligible to compete after the suspension.

Posted in: Suga likely to call snap election after Olympics, Paralympics: report See in context

The Paras finish in September and constitutionally an election has to be held by October 22.

If this report is true then what on earth is the point in calling a snap election with just one month to go until a normal election?

Posted in: Osaka fined $15,000 for skipping French Open news conference; could face disqualification See in context

Osaka is now facing expulsion from the French Open and future Grand Slams if she continues to refuse to speak to the media.

Osaka needs to stop behaving like a spoilt, petulant child and honour her contractual obligations. We all have to do stuff we don’t like but guess what, we just get on with it.

China owns the USA now.

It's what happens when a nation loses all sense of national identity and communal values, and financial gain becomes one of the few legitimate goals.

Posted in: Japan sees no impact on Olympics from U.S. travel advisory See in context

Japan's borders are already closed anyway so this US travel advisory is meaningless.

Not to sound ungrateful but 1000 a day? How do you even go that slow?

Harry should have some dignity and stop airing his laundry out in public like this. It's embarrassing.

"It’s people from good, northern working class stock who’ve let us down"

People like you are the reason people like them are flocking Labour in droves.

People here are getting confused between a national identity card and photo ID (passport etc). They're two very different things and speaking as a UK voter I'm always quite shocked at how easy it is to turn up at a polling station and cast a vote with minimal identity checks. This legislation is well overdue.

@Alfie Noakes - Why don't you ask the people of Canning Town how they feel about XR? Or any normal Londoners who were held to ransom by a bunch of poshos playing revolutionary.

@Jimizo - If you think Tories are condescending wait until you hear about the other lot. There's a reason no one votes Labour anymore.
