When I mentioned to some Japanese coworkers that I had my female cat sterilized, they treated me like some arch animal abuser. “That’s so cruel, stripping her of her ability be a mother cat!”. WTF?!

Posted in: Japan sees record domestic violence consultations in 2021 See in context

I once saw a guy kicking his girlfriend/wife as she lay on the pavement. I tried to stop, you know, being a decent person trying to do the recent thing. The way I was treated by the Japanese police….well, I learned never to get involved again. Domestic abuse seems tacitly accepted here; like extra-marital affairs.

Also, I have noticed there is zero "honor" in Japanese fights, or the idea of leaving a guy down and out. Guy down on the floor not putting up a fight anymore? Who cares?! Let's keep on kicking him in the head anyways!

But lets all ignore the historical fact that at least one Japanese resident of Hawaii and Singapore were known to have been passing valuable information to the Japanese military. Many UK residents of German and Austrian origin were arrested in 1939. It was war time.

Exactly. But you can't argue with these people above; they know nothing about the reality of the Japanese at war.

I was at a friend's house the other day and had the misfortune of catching some NHK. Somebody was eating a strawberry sponge cake, and three other people were watching them and listening to their review of it as if they had just discovered a universal cure for cancer.
